5 pints down gotta be up for work in 6hrs all in all a very depressing sunday evening.
It feels like we fell short on very close margins - all 3 weeks we lost were 3-5; that and both draws in the second stage means that's 5 weeks where one more game going our way would've had us in the final. We rallied so well after that (including winning w4 after spending half the week trolling bc we thought we were out LMAO), once we figured out our strongest lineup we didn't lose another week after the initial 0-3 and when we 7-1'd last week I thought momentum was with us and it was fate. Sure bdsppl isn't the deepest tour in the world but I so badly wanted to complete the comeback and we came within touching distance of it. Some of those games were really unlucky, some of them we trolled in the builder (between some silly oversights and some where we tested a bunch but somehow just missed some random thing that 6-0d), some came down to just getting a key turn wrong, and some of them we just got beat and that's all there is to it. Equally though we had 2 pops at both of the finalists and didn't beat either of them either time, so we can't really complain too much.
I'm very happy with my 6-2 record and have to thank Baddy and Trogba for all the prep and testing help to make that possible. For the most part I also think I gave a very good stab at managing for a first timer. Having said that there were definitely a couple of issues. Activity was tricky for me and Trogba who both have intense jobs + I had some very packed weekends too. I tried to make all the time I could but there were still parts I'd have liked to have been more involved. Moreover, I think we lost a decent few games in the builder and I ok'd several teams that we realised after loading in had gaping flaws that would make for an uphill battle from the getgo. I can cut myself a bit of slack for this in tiers that I'm not familiar with, but I would definitely call that my main regret. For that I still feel we can bow out with our heads held high after a valiant fightback that came agonisingly close to making the final.
Trogba Trogba you were busy as balls but you were a step ahead of everyone else in nu realising the brokenness of ho and helped me farm. Our team felt really cohesive and together and a big part of that is that we were both very on the same page in terms of the atmosphere and vibes we were after and the people we wanted to get. Rough note to finalise your retirement on but also you owned everyone in wcop so thats the real final note anyway.
Baddy We knew we had to get you whatever the cost going in and even 28.5k felt like a bargain. After the mistake in w1 you just went on a rampage and farmed everyone, 7 wins in a row is huge and you were immense testing and building across so many other slots completely carrying our comeback. Amazing record, super active, basically managed for that week where I was in norway and trogba had exams, really helpful building and testing across all the slots and just a very sound guy too. Best teammate ever can't recommend him enough for any tour.
TBIC106 you made me feel like jawa mourinho with players who'd run through walls for me. If I asked you to get waterboarded you'd probably have done it. Not many people would voluntarily submit themselves to the geneva convention violation known as bdsp ubers but you committed yourself to it and pulled some huge wins as well as being really active across loads of other slots too. Your game this week made me lose a lot of brain cells even watching it so I can't imagine how playing it must have felt, and the woat full para that should have killed that dumbass clef just about summed up our season. You were a hell of a teammate, next time don't keep telling me to save you to the end in the auction and then we nearly lose you to carter though
Boopi_Bappi I just wanted to get you in as a helper because you have a funny name and I like you, I had no idea how above and beyond you'd go for us. We kind of neglected to draft anyone who mains ou and we would've had to just reuse all the baddy/lizzie teams every week without all your boopi batshit. Tauros x2, sub heatran, umbreon, everything you cooked worked. As well as just being a really sound guy you're a bdsp visionary and I can't overstate how much I appreciate all your contributions this season.
Zpice my other son alongside tbic. Nothing made me resent having a full time job like you two being in call cooking at 1am and me not being able to join you. You were really integral to the vibes of the server and you got a great win against step, sorry I didn't start you more and I hope we can team again in future incarnations of the bibs and that all your plans for zu come to fruition.
Ainzcrad Always love teaming w you bro, ainz pilot + boopi teams was a goated combination and bdsp wasn't ready for it. I am always a rfn enjoyer and starting so many weeks 1-0 on mon/tuesday was a great feeling. :pampu:
Lizzie I thought you were gonna be a slot we'd just need to pass a team for you to click with every week but you turned out to be a bdsp prodigy and turned bdsp ou into ss uu. That week where we both won on tue/wed while trolling bc we thought we were ought was really funny and I really enjoyed chatting w you during the qotws.
RTM absolute revalation man. I had never heard of you but larry told me to get you and here we are. Another one I clearly should have started earlier, even if you gave me heart attacks with scheduling and prep sometimes you farmed uu and you were another one I just really enjoyed speaking to throughout the tour.
Quinn I've lost the decisive game in less unserious tours than this before, I've been there and it's an awful feeling. Still, we wouldn't have been there to begin with without you as you got us multiple huge wins including randomly subbing into ou and the W that got us into the second stage. I'm really happy we got you and I always appreciate a pampu enjoyer
gulch Rasche love both of you lads, not the best tour for either of you but I appreciated having you guys and your dealing with a weird act situation & stepping in to play games at short notice respectively.
Larry clearly didn't work out, you had wcop among other tours to focus + we didn't get the people you wanted and gave you some teams that were a bit suspect (last week I made 2 bad oversights, didn't realise lumineon scald was only 70% chance to break whiscash sub and I thought scarf rotom outsped +2 whiscash). I hope you were still able to get some enjoyment out of this tour somewhere/from talking to ainz about anime if nothing else, and thanks for telling me to get rtm who was immense.
Runo TyCarter appreciate both you guys coming in to help/vibe towards the end, was great to have some ru expertise as that was definitely a slot we'd struggled to prep in over the tour.
Despite some hiccups and a couple tricky/stressful bits, for the most part I enjoyed managing a lot. Idk if I ever will again since I'm somewhere between retiring and heavily scaling back my involvement on smogon/no longer gonna be on the grind in any tier even if I do join the odd thing to click or mess around. Hopefully the brexit bibs will rise again whether under my stewardship or someone elses.
