Scheduling
Scheduling should be done on Smogon user walls, plain and simple.
If there is no communication on a users walls and a game goes undone, it will be left to the RNG to decide the winner.
If there is communication on only one user's behalf, the win will go to them. Feel free to call activity in this thread beforehand.
If there is a very healthy back and forth regarding potential times and one user is a no-show, a captain may take the opportunity to sub out the no-show competitor; if this is not done, the user that showed up responsibly will be awarded the win.

TL;DR: PM your opponents, schedule your matches, and be reliable. If you're not reliable, let your captain know so they can sub you out ASAP.


Sportsmanship
Exhibitions of unsportsmanlike conduct with regards to Other Metagame World Cup VI will be met with an infraction at the discretion of the hosts. This is unlikely to include interactions within a team's private chat unless there is reason found to make an exception.

  • Inappropriate nicknames: Games in which a player uses nicknames that break PS! rules will be forfeited, and the player will be removed from the tour. Replays are required for this tour, so it is important that PS! and Smogon rules are followed in these games.
  • Toxic Behaviour: Insulting, flaming, and intentional timer stalling are some examples of toxic behaviour. Instances of toxic behaviour will be reviewed, and the appropriate punishment will be handed out at the discretion of the hosts and OM forum moderators.
These rules are meant to protect other users from being publicly flamed/bashed/provoked by another competitor for the duration of and following the tournament, as well as keep it a safe site for all.

All players must complete their matches by the given deadline. Any incomplete matches by that time may be subject to activity decision (MAKE SURE YOU POST ON YOUR OPPONENT'S WALL); otherwise, they will be decided via !pick publicly in the Other Metas Room. All matches should ideally be done on your most notable alt (the one you registered for OMWC VI with) to avoid confusion and the replay must be saved and posted in this thread. The replays will be archived in a separate thread, and will be used to calculate usage stats.

Substitutions
Captains, if you wish to make any substitutions, you must post here tagging both the player you're subbing out, the player you're subbing in, the captains of the opposing team, the substitute's opponent(s), and myself. This is to assure that everyone is in-the-loop and that the OP is updated accordingly to reflect the new match-up.


Weeks Format Explanation & Rules
  1. There are two groups, each group has 4 regions.
  2. Every week each region will face a different one till every region has fought each other, top 2 regions within a group advance to playoffs.
  3. In the event of a tie, total number of individual wins will decide which regions progresses.
  4. It is a best of 1 for every single tier but the best of 3 category.
  5. Best of 3s game order is decided by !pick on Pokemon Showdown.

AAA: O1V7O2X9O vs Jrdn, def a HL. ive had the pleasure of teaming w/ these guys in aaapl and ompl respectively n they both play and build good. very excited for this one but I expect jrdn to edge out bc support advantage
BH: rightclicker vs teamo nuke is not good, hallward is not good. any half competent clicker w/ half competent support (teamo and will in this case) should win vs them
GG: Fluore vs Racool I like racools approach to prep / build a lot, I think if she can get in the groove of things shes gonna have a real good ssn
Inh: Velcroc vs Don Vascus don plays this tier velcro does not
MnM: zastra vs Tempo di anguria Tempo in mnm is gonna be fun to watch, anyways usually id bold his opp "oh he's gonna need time to get used to the meta" but zas sucks so its w/ever. don't listen to close to clas tho he's insane
PiC: Idyll vs Evie evie + yuki feels pretty good idk lol
STAB: Kaif vs Clementine I like kaifs approach to building + playing this tier a lot more

O1V7O2X9O vs Jrdn

O1 had a good performance during aaapl, but its the Jrdn difference. His builds are always unique and if he can make things like grimmsnarl and hydrapple the scariest mons in a game I see him taking this. On top of his builds, I think Jrdn plays a really consistent and well thought out game, with his greater amount of experience helping tip the scales.

DeepFriedMagikarp vs GlalieGoesBoom

Two really good players, and this could honestly go either way, but I think DFM will pull away with this one. This is because Glalie hasn't been playing SVaaa as much and I believe doesn't really like building or playing this meta. DFM also tends to make teams that don't get fished by stall, tho I wonder if Glalie is going to go in a different direction since that team archetype is what they are known for. Gonna be a good watch either way though.

Wss vs Lily

Lily picked up Inh for OMPL and went nearly flawless, I think this skill will transfer over to AAA as well. Lily also has strong builder support from Slither, Sammy, and Ivar (if he decides to actually build for this meta, I get ur pain).

Atha vs MZ

Sorry MZ, but I have to bold Atha because it's Atha :( My advice bring something that beats screens, scarf ghold, stail, mglo moon, and/or regen hands. Could also prob bring HO or some random set-up mon and try and win that way. Either way this will be another highlight match if South can get a good build put together for MZ, as he is a very capable player.

Lana vs Clas

This one could go either way but I am gonna have to go with Clas because he has better builder support in Jrdn and Racool (y'all really let this happen again? Busted combo). However, I do know Clas dislikes playing this meta/tier quite a bit and if the mu is even slightly in Lana's favor I can see this being detrimental for Clas while he is playing. Lana also had a good run during OMPL, so more experience playing the tier, despite pre-dnite ban, could come into play.

Kinetic vs Andyboy

Went flawless in AAA during OMPL and AAAPL, kinetic is on a hot streak rn its p crazy. Andyboy had a decent run during AAAPL, but I'm pretty sure they haven't really touched SV (as they mentioned in their aaapl sign-up they would have to learn any tier besides SS), so I think Kinetic will continue w his success.

Nashrock vs Ivar57

Ivar is a really strong player and can be a strong builder if he wants to for this tier, not much else to say tbh. I think this is the only one of the bo3s I'm confident that Ivar will win overall. It helps that there is the strong support I mentioned earlier in the back not just for aaa but all three tiers, which while not necessary for Ivar, is always nice to have.

Osake vs Glory

While Osake has shown they're competent in SV, I still think Glory edges them out here. I also think Glory's aggressive team styles have a pretty good mu into the types of builds I've seen Osake bring in SV, and with Glory cooking during aaapl, I see them continuing this here in aaa bo3.
