As the 2024 tournaments are coming to an end, we think it's a good opportunity to discuss about the schedule for next year. Here are some topics mentioned in cord before:
  • New Team Tour: Yes! A new team tour is on its way! Let us know which format you prefer (Blind Draft/Snake Draft/etc) and when this tour should take place. There's an open slot now in late December and early January.
  • New Individual Tour: Since SS Natdex has its own circuit now, it makes less sense to keep SS Cup in the SV circuit. Therefore, we will replace it with a new individual tour, the format of which can be single elimination/majors/swiss, ideally Type B but this is subject to discussion.
  • Custom Avatar Allocation: Currently, NDPL and circuit playoff each has one CA. Should we move one from circuit to NDWC?
  • Circuit Tour Type: With the removal of SS Cup, should we remove Type C tours? Do you think any of these individual tours should change its type?
As a reference, this is the circuit schedule we had for 2024. If you have anything not on this list, feel free to say it!

I think Nashrock is lovely and we should wait until early 2025 (Think the week of January 5th, possibly) for a new team tour to let some steam cool off after circuit. Also replace SS Cup with a Swiss tournament. No other thoughts otherwise

New Team Tour: I'd prefer blind draft and would like to see this happen with signups going up on December 30th, with a mid-January start date

Custom Avatar Allocation: think that it would be nice to give WC a try this yr instead of circuit

I disagree, the mystery team tour should be ASAP (Format discussion today, ideally) to strike while the iron is hot. Our metagame is currently a Utopia and there is no better time for a team tour than the turning point of the tier.

Keep CAs as is. Move grand slam banner to WC #BossCall

  • New Team Tour: I like blind over snake more as its a more distinguished format than pl/fl
  • New Individual Tour: Major seems cool, especially since it takes less time than a standard tour, and with adding the new team tour not having enough time might become a serious concern
  • Custom Avatar Allocation: Yes please phoenix doesn't need another custom give us one for wc
  • Circuit Tour Type: Yes type C tours give 0 points just nuke them
 
  • New Team Tour: Blind draft would be super interesting depending on how its done. ASAP would be preferable for the team tour so we can sort out the top level meta faster. Get manager signups out within a week.
  • New Individual Tour: Swiss plz, also add two new tours rather than just replacing ss cup, masters and swiss would be insane.
  • Custom Avatar Allocation: Probably keep the same or hassle big smogon/big stall to give us more custys per year then distribute those, current system seems a bit light for us being the size we are when u can literally get one for like scholastic room book report of the month or whatever tf they do over there.

  • New Team Tour: An SS ND teamtour sounds stupid and useless but i can't imagine a tournament format that would make a tour without a custom prize interesting when theres already a NDPL
  • New Individual Tour: Natdex Masters (SS, Pre-Tera Ban SV, Post-Tera Ban SV)
  • Custom Avatar Allocation: NDWC is a mickey mouse tournament and does not deserve a custom. Circuit is the only tournament mainers deserve for a custom
 
New individual team tour -ND Majors could be pretty cool
Custom Avatar Allocation - Keep it for circuit. Playing ND games just for a ribbon is crazy, singles tours already have low signups as is.
PLs r mickey pls keep CA for circuit ty.

  • Circuit Tour Type: type c's feel like a waste in a game as volatile as mons imo,otherwise using type bs and a's for the existing tours seems fine
 
only commenting on teamtour and avatar allocation:


teamtour should be asap. ND is in the spotlight more then ever given the tera results; it's foolish not to attempt to capture some of the new traffic thats lurking and interested in trying out a tera-free NDOU but want something structured. for draft style snake is pretty dogshitttttt, i think blind is a little wack too tbh but i'm content with it, my other thoughts are better reserved for the format discussion thread.


i know this will probably ruffle some feathers but the CA really should be WC (or even the third teamtour down the line). i say this having played ND circuit poffs before, so I am very aware of the draw that comes with having it as a circuit prize. I believe teamtours with customs drives greater engagement, meta development, + playerbase growth than the circuit structure, while the relatively new ND ribbon should still foster a very competitive circuit with all the best players, even without the custom prize (case in point: basically all other tiers that follow the 2 CAs on 2 teamtour structure). perhaps it's a little anecdotal, but it sure looks and feels it when viewing other tiers that followed suit and their relative numbers. given the ribbon should relatively guarantee a thriving circuit, using the CA on a teamtour to maximize tier growth and development seems like a no brainer, and moving it should definitely be the course of action for the coming year.

i wouldnt ever be bothered to even try to go for this circuit so i am unbiased and i can tell you that the circuit would be so so so useless without a custom. a personal custom should 100% be given out to a natdex individual tour instead of it being taken by team tours.
Also the circuit is for actual mainers and NDPL and other teamtours for a custom would draw abit for attention for 7 weeks and everyone stops caring about natdex right after
