Hello, I made this team recently when trying to make a team that doesn’t use weather and is makeable in game without too much effort. The purpose this team is too sweep the oppositions team through subs and set up sweepers and stop opponents setting up on me. When testing I found I had problems with scarfed dragons and opposing sweepers that manage to set up without getting encored.

Team in detail:
Changes in bold
Whimsicott (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Prankster
EVs: 248 HP / 40 Def / 208 SDef / 12 Spd
Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Leech Seed
- Substitute
- Encore
- Taunt
Whimsicott is my pre-set lead but I frequently end up leading with something else instead. His main purpose is to come in on opposing sweepers that are setting up and encore them before sub-seeding. Also he is good bait for fire type moves for chandelure to switch into.
Scrafty (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Shed Skin
EVs: 252 Hp/248 SDef/8 Atk
Careful Nature (+Sdef-Satt)
- Bulk up
- Drain Punch
- Crunch
- Rest
I was originally using a dragon dance set but I decided I needed something that could tank attacks so I changed too bulk up. The EVs are so Scrafty can set up easily. Shed skin is for absorbing status and speeding up rest recovery.
Virizion @ Lum Berry
Trait: Justified
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Swords Dance
- Stone Edge
- Leaf Blade
- Close Combat
Virizion is my second physical sweeper. Once its counters are removed it is quite easy for virizion to sweep opposing teams with its duel stabs. Lum berry is to allow an extra turn and to stop attempts to cripple him. Also virizion can take an unboosted hit from excadrill (which most of my team doesn’t like) and OHKO back with close combat.
Gengar (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Substitute
- Disable
- Shadow Ball
- Focus Blast
Sub-disable gengar is capable of countering many pokemon in the current metagame by using substitute then disabling the opponents move causing in many cases for gengar to be virtually immune to the opponent. Gengar is also my ground resist seeing as he can outrun most common users of earthquake (excluding excadrill in sand-storm). With his high special attack and coverage from shadow ball and focus blast gengar is quite capable of sweeping opposing teams from behind a sub.
Chandelure (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Flash Fire
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Substitute
- Flamethrower
- Shadow Ball
- Hidden Power [Fighting]
When I originally made this team I had a huge problem with fire types so I started using chandelure because of flash fire and his ability to cause massive damage behind subs with his fire and ghost type stabs. Hp fighting is used for dark types (most notably tyranitar who loves coming in on chandelure). Normally with chandelure I switch in on a resisted move and sub if they predict I’m going to switch.
Haxorus @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Mold Breaker
EVs: 4 Def / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Outrage
- Dual Chop
- Earthquake
- Brick Break
Haxorus is my scarfed revenge killer. With garchomp now in ubers haxorus is not as likely to be revenge killed as before. Outrage is the move I use if I want to do a lot of damage but frequently I use dual chop to be safer. I'm using dual chop instead of dragon claw to break through sashes and subs. Mold breaker allows earthquake to hit pokemon with levitate such as bronzong or gengar.
Thank you for reading my RMT. I would appreciate any feedback or advice you could give to help me improve my team.
