5th gen team

In honor of finally getting black version, I have decided to build a team that was completely 5th gen and that I will attempt to build as a complete the game. I worked for several hours planning out this team and am now posting it on these forums for review. I do not have any of these pokemon, this is more of a rough draft; please keep this in mind as you give your constructive criticism. Also, if there is anything that I may seem unfamiliar with, considering I have had the game for 2 days, please make these things aware to me :).

Lead:
Emolga @ focus sash
4hp/252spa/252spe - timid
motor drive
-encore
-light screen
-volt switch
-protect

While emolga does not seem to be considered by most people a very good pokemon at all, and on top of this having plenty of replacements, I decided on him because of his to complete resistances to electric and ground. With these resistances he is perfect for switching in to avoid damage on his frail body (assuming he makes it out of the start alive). Protect is to prevent fake out breaking his sash, light screen seems to be what he does best in the meta game, volt switch is so that he may make a speedy getaway so that he may be used to set up later, and encore is for strategy for setting up LS and to force a switch possibly when trapping the enemy in a worthless move.

Tank:
Cofagrigus @ leftovers/chesto berry
252hp/252def/4spd-bold
-rest
-calm mind
-shadow ball/haze
-HP fighting

I chose cofagrigus because if his large defensive bulk and resistance to fighting type moves, considering I have two poke on my team which are weak to fighting types. Shadow ball and HP fighting provide full neutral coverage. Although I have not decided between haze and shadow ball, I am not sure if I will be fighting enough poke that are statused to make haze worth it. The basic strategy behind this poke is to calm mind a few times to increase the special d that he is lacking, possibly sweep with the full coverage, and rest up when he is almost dead, possibly with a berry imediatley waking him.

SubSplit:
Reuniclus @ life orb
188hp/64def/252spa - modest
Wonderguard
-psychic
-focus blast
-substitute
-pain split

This was the first poke I actually picked for my team (just not the first that I wrote down ;) ). I researched this poke for a while, mostly intrigued by its stats and move pool. After looking at reviews from various sites about this poke, I noticed that there is a lack for a SubSplit set, which I am not sure if there is a reason for. With its large amounts of hp the substitutes seem as if they would be very hard to break, and with pain split to replenish the health being taken away from itself, and focus blast and psychic providing perfect neutral coverage bar psychic, Reuniclus seems like the perfect candidate for a subsplit set. Its slow speed however, is the only thing that worries me, as I see it as a potential blessing in some cases while a curse in others.

Physical attacker:
Druddigon @ life orb
252hp/252 atk/4def - adament
Sheer force
-dragon claw
-fire fang
-sucker punch
-earthquake

Druddigon brings the much needed physical force that my team needs, as well as a wide variety of coverage. I believe that the ev spread is the main thing that needs work on this poke, as im sure there is something better that could be used. Sheer force and life orb make fire fang much more powerful than it normally is, dragon claw is for stab, sucker punch provides priority for the slow dragon, and earthquake is for the weakness to fire that the team seems to have developed, seeing as druddigon is the only poke that has any resistance to fire at all.

Swords dancer:
Cobalion @ air balloon
212atk/88spa/208spe - naive
-swords dance
-close combat
-stone edge
-HP ice

While reviewing the weaknesses to the partially complete team I had, I originally looked at Cobalion, as well as his other 4-legged fighting type counterparts for their ability justified, as I felt it fit well onto my team which had two poke that were weak to dark. Upon research of them I decided that Cobalion was by far the best, with his mass amounts of resistances that the rest of my team are weak to, such as rock, ice, dragon, ghost, dark, and ghost. The idea is to switch into something that counters one of my above poke and start setting up for a sweep. Air balloon is to go along with HP ice, as it allows Cobalion to switch in freshly on one of his major weaknesses (ground, duh), resist it, and counter with HP ice while they die from being slow or pop the balloon from being fast.

Specially defensive support:
Audino @ leftovers
252hp/58def/200spd - careful/calm
Healer
-toxic
-tunderwave
-protect
-wish

The final pick for my team, this one took the longest to decide. I was looking for something that was specially defensive, could support the team, and also fit well into the team as far as weakness/resistance goes. With only a weakness to fighting, I felt that Audino fit well with cofagrigus considering he has complete immunity to fighting, also it is because of this poke that I felt the need that i might use haze over shadow ball on cofagrigus. Audino seems to fit well with the team, however, as I took the least amount of time making this poke, I also feel that it needs alot of readjustments, such as its ev spread and lack of attacks making it taunt bait. Everything about this poke screams support lol.

Well thats the team, I look forward to reading comments from everyone. Thanks in advance :). BTW, block of text recieves a critical hit!

First of all, your team seems pretty solid.

Are you willing to venture out of Gen V? Because Blissey or Chansey @Eviolite is a much better option than Audino, as Blissey is essentially the same poke but better.

Druddigon is a bad version of Haxorus, as far as I can see. He has a similar movepool, the same typing, slightly less def and sp def, but the superior atk and spd are greatly needed, especially when sweeping is required.

I do like the way you decided to use Emolga. He is unfortunately horrible stat-wise, but so awesome and has so much potential to be better. You found an interesting way to use him, and I'd say it works okay.

The reason you haven't seen a SubSplit set for Reuniclus is due to his access to Recover. Recover is generally superior over Pain Split, as it has a guaranteed amount of HP recovery, and Reuniclus' massive sp atk means that the little bit of extra damage doesn't really matter too much.

That's my constructive criticism, I hope I helped you out.

Hey Dragon, thanks for the reply it helped alot

I definately agree with you on the blissey/chansey comment, audino is not very offensive at all. In the end i will probably drop him for a different gen poke which does his job better, this is just the best things I could find from black and white.

Druddigon I felt had a better move pool with sucker punch and the boosted BP of fire fang, which provides a much needed variety to the team which is one of the reasons I chose him over Haxorus. also druddigon holds a special place in my heart lol, as he is the only dragon from 5th gen not being used by any of my IR friends. Once i have this team up and running I might end up deciding to switch him for something better, possibly even a non dragon, but who knows.

I would agree with your comment on Emolga :). Im not extremely familiar to how he works yet, but I wanted to make a set that hadnt seemed to be tried out by anyone.

I agree with you on reuniclus, recover is much more reliable than pain split. I think that I will still try out this subsplit set, as I could see it being beneficial in certain situations, plus with wish support from audino I feel I could always just ditch pain split and relearn recover whenever I wanted anyways.

Thanks again, keep the comments coming!
