6 pokemon per team

Well I know it's kind of weird to think about, but I was thinking about it the other day. About how Gamefreak/nintendo made the maximum number of pokemon per team be 6. I always wondered how the metagame would be different if more than 6 were allowed, or if the max was less than 6. Personally I think the metagame would be alot more offensive if the max was less than 6, kind of the way 3 on 3 is now. And if the max was say 8, I think the metagame would be more defensive, since it would be easier to counter every threat with more pokemon allowed on a team.

Discuss.

the fact that +6 teams would make battles go past the usual (roughly) 9 minutes you see some of the longer battles going would make me tear my face off. think of the insane insane stall wars that would occur. personally i don't think i could deal with a ten team version of obi's stall team. like that might lead to stall team-suicide.

Well we have a good idea of how 3 on 3 works due to Stadium style games. More offense and lots of focus sashes.

With more numbers I think it would move the other direction to a more stallish metagame with lots of spiking and spinning and such. Which sounds very boring to have stallouts every game.

i like how every one thinks 3v3 should be offensive cuz i always use two walls and a sweeper in my 3v3 battles and i cant recall losing one to date, but they have all been on serebiis spp wifi.

i think it would be cool though if shoddy allowed 8v8 and 3v3 battles. id wana try that out

I'm particularly interested in 5v5. Right now, what I hear a lot is "Blissey is necessary to be able to counter everything and still have room on your team", implying that a 6 pokemon squad is just enough. Leading me to wonder what 1 less slot would do.
