7.9 magnitude earthquake rocks Peru

In my city it was just "scary" since it lasted like 2 minutes but there was very little damage. Electricity went out in some zones and communications were cut. Still, two people died from cardiac arrest.

However, in two smaller cities to the south there's a large amount of deaths, many families lost their houses, etc. It's horrible.

That's terrible... it's pretty hard to reduce damage of earthquakes, especially ones of such magnitude. I know this is easy to say from where I am, but it could have been much worse.

Ouch. 7.9 is a BIG FUCKING EARTHQUAKE.

According to Wikipedia such an earthquake would release about a gigaton of energy.

That would be equivalent to about one million small atomic bombs going off simultaneously.

I hope everyone is alright. The current reports count over 300 dead and over 1500 injured. I can only suspect those numbers will go up.

Spies, how bad was it in Lima?

That's why I like England ._.

Oh dear, hope the people recover from this, my heart goes out to you all!
