Ok so this is my first RMT, but I've been battling competitively for a few months now.
Team Building Process
Manny (Mamoswine) @ Focus Sash
Trait: Snow Cloak
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 Atk / 4 HP
Adamant Nature
- Icicle Crash
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- Endeavor
Manny is basically my suicide lead. He sets up Stealth Rocks, and usually is down to his Sash by the second turn. I use Endeavor to bring the opponent's pokemon down to 1 HP, making it useless besides for death fodder.
Puff (Dragonite) @ Leftovers
Trait: Multiscale
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 Atk / 4 HP
Jolly Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Dragon Claw
- Earthquake
- ExtremeSpeed
Puff is the main sweeper on my team. Most of the pokemon I switch in on switch out, giving me a free DD. If they aren't a huge threat, I'll get up another DD and easily take out 2 or 3 of their pokemon. Dragon Claw for STAB, and Earthquake for any steel types who come in. Extremespeed is mostly taking up a move slot, but it has come in handy more than Fire Punch.
Tang (Infernape) @ Life Orb
Trait: Blaze
EVs: 192 Atk / 252 Spd / 64 SAtk
Naive Nature
- Close Combat
- Overheat
- Stone Edge
- Hidden Power [Grass]
Tang is a standard MixNape, straight from the Smogon Analysis page. He comes in handy when Puff can't handle an Ice type.
Vappy (Vaporeon) @ Leftovers
Trait: Hydration
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SDef / 4 Def
Bold Nature
- Wish
- Scald
- Roar
- Toxic
Vappy is the medic of the team. She's the only defensive pokemon on the team, but her Special Attack is high enough to have saved me in several situations late-game.
DontRunWith (Scizor) @ Expert Belt
Trait: Technician
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Spd / 252 Atk
Adamant Nature
- Bullet Punch
- Pursuit
- Bug Bite
- Superpower
Scizor is another physical sweeper, but he isn't very useful. If I could find a good Mixed sweeper for this spot, while still keeping the Steel typing, I would replace him. Scizor is the perfect Tyranitar counter, however, so he is still on the team over Magnezone.
Spark (Jolteon) @ Air Balloon
Trait: Volt Absorb
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 SAtk / 4 HP
Timid Nature
- Thunderbolt
- Shadow Ball
- Substitute
- Hidden Power [Ice]
Spark is the special sweeper of the team. He outspeeds just about everything, and can OHKO anything that he gets super-effective damage on with SR damage.
That's the entire team. I would make a threat list, but the only real threats I've run into are special walls like Tyranitar, and that was solved by Scizor's addition to the team. All constructive criticism is greatly appreciated, since I'm sure there are still several flaws in the team.
Team Building Process
But here's the team building process.
I knew i wanted to use Dragonite and Infernape as the main sweepers, and they cover each others weaknesses pretty well.
With Jolteon on the team, I had almost perfect type coverage. Now I needed a special and a physical wall.
Now I had 3 sweepers along with two walls who could heal my team and set up entry hazards.
I decided to add Mamoswine as my lead, and eventually replaced Skarmory with Scizor.
