Teh Ovarvooz:
Clocks (Bronzong) @ Lum Berry
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP/86 Atk/80 Def/92 SDef
Sassy nature (+SDef, -Spd)
- Gyro Ball
- Hypnosis
- Earthquake
- Explosion
Standard Bronzong lead, eschewing Stealth Rock to murder something's face with Explosion. Absorbs status and replies with Hypnosis, and Earthquake is obviously for Magnezone and Electrics. Oh, Lucario, too. Can easily have his fire weakness covered by Houndoom.
Evil Angel (Houndoom) (F) @ Salac Berry
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 6 HP/252 Spd/252 SAtk
Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Dark Pulse
- Fire Blast
- Nasty Plot
- Substitute
Hellpuppy is a killer of things. Many, many things. It's similiar to Sub-salac Porygon-Z, only with a tad more speed, and stronger STAB's to fire off. Plus, hellhounds FTW. Nasty Plot as Blissey comes in, Sub to stop T-wave, Nasty Plot again, and slam with Fire Blast, or Dark Pulse for possible flinch. KO's a lot from behind a sub and boosted hits. A great asset to this team, works nicely and can come in to block Heatran's sweep.
Passive (Rhyperior) (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Solid Rock
EVs: 252 HP/6 Atk/252 Def
Impish nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Earthquake
- Ice Punch
- Megahorn
- Stealth Rock
My true SR'er, which thanks to Solid Rock and hit god-like defenses, is easier to set up than with Zong. Earthquake and Ice Punch allow for good coverage, and Megahorn beats down Cress a good number.
Braniac (Porygon2) @ Leftovers
Ability: Trace
EVs: 252 HP/148 SAtk/110 SDef
Modest nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Recover
- Tri Attack
- Charge Beam
- Ice Beam
Another set that likes to come in on Heatran, since Earth Power and HP Ice fail to 3KO. Charge Beam to snag boosts in Sp. Atk, Tri Attack and Ice Beam to sweep, and Recover to get off residual damage. I altered the spread to allow it to take a few more hits if necessary on the special spectrum, since without that, it could be 3KO'd by Heatran's attacks.
Peephole (Weezing) (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP/176 Def/80 SAtk
Relaxed nature (+Def, -Spd)
- Explosion
- Fire Blast
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Thunderbolt
I don't even get how he's not BL. Elemental Weezing screws over things like Heracross, Skarmory, Gyarados, and other things that mess up my team. Thankfully, even though Heatran murders it, Porygon2 and Houndoom can keep it safe because the overwhelming majority are ChoiceTrans. Kill things with great coverage, young Weezing, and Explode when your journey becomes ardous.
Headstrong (Lucario) (M) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Inner Focus
EVs: 6 HP/252 Atk/252 Spd
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Close Combat
- Extremespeed
- Crunch
- Ice Punch
The reason I went with ScarfCario over SDLuke with Ice Punch is because then I can run all my offensive options with less regard to what I need to hit more. This thing makes a beastly revenge killer, and can rely on Weezing and Houndoom to cover his weaknesses. Extremespeed may seem odd on a scarf set, but it beats out other frail and random scarfers, like Infernape or Heracross.
Threat List: (This lists the 49 pokemon in OU/Not Skymin, Deoxys, or Chomp)
Aerodactyl: Unfortunately, I can't stop his rocks, but Gyro Ball OHKO's him, with Rock Slide or Ice Fang left to hit Zong with. Not a real issue.
Alakazam: A little tricky, depends on the set, but since the majority are spec'd, Houndoom can come in on a Shadow Ball, Grass Knot, or Psychic, and set up Nasty Plot or a sub. Lucario revenge kills with Crunch or Extremespeed.
Azelf: Send Houndoom in after he's got his rocks set up, and force him to explode, switching into Rhyperior to soak it up, doing around 30-40%. Not too hard.
Blissey: Lucario, Bronzong, Weezing, Rhyperior, EVEN Porygon2 and Houndoom aren't hopeless against it. Blissey is not that big a threat to the team.
Breloom: I have ALWAYS hated Breloom with my heart and soul, but this team can't do a great deal against it if I don't have Weezing. Fortunately, once I've absorbed it's sleep with something, I send in Weezing, soak up Seed Bombs, Focus Punches, and things of that nature. It can dish out Fire Blast and HP on it to kill it.
Bronzong: Houndoom.
Celebi: Weezing's Fire Blast can dent it nicely, and on the physical end, so can Rhyperior's Megahorn, but it has to come in on it, obviously. Lucario does well with Crunch, too.
Cresselia: Rhyperior takes Ice Beams well, and has Megahorn to kill it with, and Lucario's Crunch is nice, too, but he has to worry about Paralysis, the last thing I want on him.
Donphan: Not an issue. Weezing is immune to Earthquake, hits it super-effectively with HP-Ice, and then there's also Porygon2, which can usually KO with Ice Beam. It only lacks the Earthquake immunity. However it has Recover, so that's less of an issue.
Dragonite: Somehow the thing is still OU, but hey, whatever. Porygon2 can survive boosted Outrages, and Zong resists them, and they can Ice Beam or status it respectively.
Dugtrio: Since Dugtrio traps things with Arena Trap, it is rather annoying to kill, but the things it can't trap are Weezing and Bronzong, both of which can hammer it with Gyro Ball, or HP Ice. If it traps Porygon2, it gets Ice Beamed. If it traps Rhyperior or Lucario, it gets Ice Punched, Rhyperior being able to take an Earthquake easily, and Lucario outspeeding it. Therefore, the only thing I worry that it traps is Houndoom, and even that isn't completely hopeless if it has a Salac Boost or a Sub up.
Dusknoir: Houndoom can come in on Will O' Wisp and reply with Dark Pulse, or Sub/Nasty Plot as Knoir switches. It doesn't come in well on attacks other than Explosion, Close Combat, or Extremespeed. Even though it CAN be problematic, it's generally manageable.
Electivire: The only reason this is on the threat list is because it's somehow still an OU, even though it is walled by half the metagame. Weezing walls it, kills with repeated Fire Blasts/HP. Rhyperior takes a whopping 23-27% from Ice Punch, responds with an Earthquake that should get rid of 1492014% health on it. (Only if I get a crit. Otherwise, it's only somewhere in the quadruple digits) Zong walls it, and EQ's it away. Electivire is way too easy for this team to handle.
Forretress: Houndoom and Weezing make quick work of it, though I can't block his spin. Not terribly bad, since my SR user is a mid-game one.
Gallade: Iffy, but Weezing generally works nicely if Gallade doesn't have Psycho Cut, and after a few defense drops, he's open to revenge kills by Lucario and Houndoom.
Gengar: Bronzong does well enough. Hypnotizes it after Lum Berry cures him, and Gyro Ball him down. Porygon2 lives through anything other than a Focus Blast, but it can use it to Charge Beam against and Recover off. Lucario revenge kills with Crunch, but ScarfGar's annoying.
Gliscor: Lucario's Ice Punch, Rhyperior's Ice Punch, Weezing's Hidden Power, Porygon2's Ice Beam, and Houndoom's Nasty Plotted Fire Blast will all OHKO or 2KO. Porygon2 and Weezing are generally better in that respect.
Gyarados: Weezing walls it nicely, and responds with T-bolt, and Porygon2 can Intimidate back and slam with Charge Beam.
Heatran: Weezing and Bronzong suffer badly if Heatran comes in (though if Zong Quakes it, it's lucky.), and since it's presence is common on this side of the metagame, I implemented Porygon2 and Houndoom as efficient counters, since most Heatrans are Choice users.
Heracross: A bit challenging to kill off, but easy to wall. Weezing is as good as a Gliscor with Roost against it. Fire Blast murders him. Other options involve Rhyperior taking any attacks that aren't Close Combat, or Lucario hitting a weakened one with Extremespeed.
Infernape: Annoying to deal with, but it is not impossible to beat. Lucario can come in on anything but his STAB moves, and respond with a faster Close Combat, but hopefully, it walks in on Zong's Earthquake or something, because other than revenge killing it, I don't have a lot to use against Infernape.
Jirachi: Rhyperior stops T-Wave from landing, and promptly Earthquake's back, whereas Houndoom tears through it with Fire Blast, using Sub to block T-Wave, plus it's immune to Zen Headbutt and resistant to the rare Iron Head.
Jolteon: Rhyperior can handle HP Ice okay, being 3KO'd by it, and Earthquake is an easy OHKO. Lucario can Close Combat for massive damage, but he has to make sure the KO sinks, otherwise the defense drops will end him.
Kingdra: Like Infernape, it's a bit iffy, but Lucario can Extremespeed it if it's weak enough, or Bronzong can Explode in it's face. Difficult, not impossible.
Lucario: Weezing stops pure physical attackers cold, and my own Lucario can come in on anything besides CC and murder it with his own Close Combat.
Machamp: Weezing takes the hits well, though Dynamic Punch gets old, as we all know. Generally, just predict well, possibly Explode on it, and I should come out on top.
Magnezone: Bronzy hates it, but other than him, the rest of my team is fine. Magnezone doesn't have the defenses to take boosted Tri Attacks from Porygon2, Close Combats from Lucario, Earthquakes from Rhyperior, or Fire Blasts from Houndoom and Weezing. If it walks in on EQ from Bronzong, it's screwed, even if it Magnet Rises right after.
Mamoswine: Weezing is fine against him, Fire Blast does nicely. Houndoom resists Ice Shard, but can't come in on anything else. Bronzong walls it nicely, too.
Metagross: Usually walled by Weezing and met by a Fire Blast, but even then, it's kind of annoying. Most of the time, Zong will just take the hits and Earthquake back. Rhyperior does alright.
Milotic: 2KO'd by Close Combat, hurt badly by T-bolt, and set up on by Porygon2, who can also Trace Marvel Scale. Not a huge issue.
Ninjask: Priority moves.
Porygon-Z: Most of the team doesn't like taking hits from him, but if they can, usually Zong will Gyro Ball it, Lucario Extremespeeds the Scarf'd versions and Close Combats the rest.
Roserade: Half the team is immune to Poison, so Toxic Spikes aren't a real thorn in my side (pun intended). Houndoom takes most of her attacks well, only worrying about a rare Hidden Power, and since it's mostly Fire, he can usually snag a boost with it.
Salamence: Multitudes of Ice type moves will fail you, Mr. Mence.
Scizor: Rhyperior and Weezing take Bullet Punch well enough, and resist his other usual moves, and can respond with Earthquake and Fire Blast. Houndoom works in the same way, but is a little more frail. Even then, he can't be OHKO'd by a boosted Bullet Punch.
Skarmory: Weezing, Porygon2, and Houndoom all work fine, usually able to OHKO/2KO him with ease.
Snorlax: Lucario!
Spiritomb: Like Dusknoir, it's annoying, but workable. Houndoom works well enough, being immune to Will O' Wisp, and resistant to Dark Moves.
Starmie: Lucario can revenge kill with Crunch, and Porygon2 walls it effectively, so it can go between Charge Beam and Recover, gaining boosts and health.
Suicune: Standard CalmCune is difficult to beat, even with super-effective attacks, but he takes enough from Close Combat to be 2KO'd under Stealth Rock. Porygon2 can match boosts somewhat with Charge Beam, but that only means he has the same attack values. His ability to take the hits won't improve, sadly.
Swampert: Nothing on the team poses a direct threat to Swampy, but Swampert doesn't pose a direct threat to anything either. Just attack it and get on with my day.
Tentacruel: meets a cruel fate by Earthquake, Thunderbolt, or a Charge Beam. Half of the team is immune to Toxic Spikes, anyway.
Togekiss: Porygon2 unfortunately isn't a dedicated special wall, but he takes Air Slash well-ish, and responds with Ice Beam. Rhyperior has immunity to T-Wave, and can hit back with Ice Punch. Speaking of Rhy, Togekiss loses 25% on entry to SR.
Tyranitar: Lucario has 4x resistances to both it's STAB's, and murders with Close Combat. Rhyperior takes the hits well, and EQ's back. Most everything works fine, other than Porygon2 and Houndoom.
Vaporeon: Without Toxic, Porygon2 OWNS it with Charge Beam boosts. Houndoom even works to an extent, due to the tendency of most Vaporeon using Wish with prediction.
Weavile: Bronzong.
Yanmega: Bronzong absorbs sleep, and can Gyro Ball or Hypnosis back. Porygon2 loves Tracing Speed Boost so, so much.
Zapdos: Rhyperior takes HP Ice nicely, Earthquakes when it Roosts, and Ice Punchs every other time. Also loses 25% walking into SR. Porygon2 Charge boosts and Ice Beams to deal with it, and Recovers, Tracing Pressure to drain it's PP.
In conclusion, the most prominent threats are Togekiss, Suicune, Breloom, and Infernape, but all can be worked around.
So, rate the team, suggestions, and comments.
