Introduction.
Hello everyone, I just got my Team Rater badge and I tought it would've been nice if I did an RMT. The team I'll show you today is an LC team, one of the best ORAS tier and the tier that I feel better playing with. The team is an offensive build, made around 2 speed boost users (Torchic and Carvanha) which benefits of the Knock Off spam of the other members to clean up in late game. I didn't do anything in particular with this team, but I think it's pretty solid as it can pass through almost every defensive core in the lc meta.

In depth.

Torchic @ Life Orb | Speed Boost
36 Def / 200 SpA / 36 SpD / 236 Spe | Modest
Protect / Fire Blast / Hidden Power Grass / Baton Pass

Torchic is the main sweeper of the team, Speed Boost is a really nice ability which gives him a boost in speed every turn, letting me invest more on the special attack. Fire Blast and HP Grass are really nice in LC hitting everything besides fire and dragon types, the latter isn't really used in LC, making Torchic a real monster. Baton Pass is a nice utility move to pass boosts to a teammate, or just to gain momentum. Protect gives Torchic a free boost in speed, allowing him to outspeed everything non scarfed in the lc meta. It forms a nice core with Carvanha, which can beat opposing fire type, giving Torchic an easier time sweeping.

Carvanha @ Life Orb | Speed Boost
196 Atk / 36 Def / 36 SpD / 236 Spe | Adamant
Protect / Aqua Jet / Waterfall / Crunch

Carvanha is the other member of the Speed Boost core, being able to pressure the opposing team with really powerful hits. Moveset is standard, protect for a free boost and to scout choice locked mon, Aqua Jet is a nice priority which kills weakened mons, Waterfall and Crunch are STABs. Zen Headbutt can be run somewhere if you want to kill things like Croagunk and Foo, although I didn't really feel this was necessary. In my opinion Carvanha is one of the scariest mon in LC, putting a lot of pressure on offensive builds, and againist Balance/Stall it can weaken one of the wall in order to let the other member of his team to sweep with ease.

Pawniard @ Eviolite | Defiant
156 Atk / 116 Def / 36 SpD / 196 Spe | Jolly
Stealth Rock / Knock Off / Sucker Punch / Iron Head

Pawniard is my first Fletchling check, something that must be on every team, and he setups rocks as well, which are very helpful in the LC meta, letting me get residual damage every time my opponent switches. Knock Off is a really useful move, as it lets me remove Eviolite from usual switchins. Sucker Punch is a nice priority that has STAB, Iron Head is the second stab which allows me to check fairy types. Pawn is my only Zigzagoon check, so keep him alive if you see Zigzagoon, because if it gets the time to setup it can be gg.

209.gif

Snubbull @ Berry Juice | Intimidate
36 HP / 116 Atk / 196 Def / 116 SpD / 36 Spe | Impish
Thief / Heal Bell / Earthquake / Play Rough

Snubbull was added because I had an incredible weakness to fighting types, and he could help me checking Fletchling too. Intimidate is a really nice trait, allowing Snubbull check physical threats in a much easier way. Play Rough is a powerful STAB that deal good damage to fighting types, Earthquake adds coverage hitting fire, steel and poison types that scares Snubbull. Thief is used to get an item when you use the Berry Juice, acting as a sorta of Knock Off. Heal Bell helps to keep the team healty, as status could fuck it up.

629.gif

Vullaby @ Eviolite | Overcoat
116 HP / 236 Atk / 156 Spe | Adamant
Knock Off / Roost / U-Turn / Brave Bird

Vullaby was added as secondary fighting check, I choosed a more offensive spread while still having a nice bulk. Knock Off as I stated before is a really useful move, Brave Bird is a really strong move that hits hard many thing, U-Turn is to keep the momentum up. Roost keeps him alive during the match, giving him a nice longevity, thanks to his really good bulk too. Defog can be run over U-Turn if you feel like you prefer having hazard control, although I didn't find it useful as you can just pressure your opponent with the offensive presence of the team to prevent him to setup too much hazards.

619.gif

Mienfoo @ Choice Scarf | Regenerator
236 Atk / 36 SpD / 236 Spe | Adamant
U-Turn / High Jump Kick / Stone Edge / Knock Off

Mienfoo is the last slot of the team, it is a nice revenge killer and put more offensive pressure on the oppoisng team. I choosed scarf over the standard Evio set to avoid that annoying speed ties with 17 speed mon, and to escape from Gothita without taking damage. High Jump Kick is a really strong STAB, Knock Off hits Psychic and Ghost types, while also removing the eviolite to fairy types such as Spritzee or Snubbull. U-Turn keeps the momentum and helps me to escape from Gothita. Stone Edge hits Ponyta and Larvesta, while also doing some damage to flying types. Poison Jab can be used there to damage fairies, or you can try Drain Punch if you want to hit dark types without risking the miss.

In conclusion I think this team is pretty solid, and it doesn't have many threats, the only one that comes to my mind is that he doesn't have a way to prevent Volt Switch users without getting too much damage :/

The first shotout goes obviously to Tricking, who helped me a lot to get better in this game, ily :D. Hey fran17,
This looks like a really cool team! It's nice to see some solid old-fashioned hyper offense.

The team looks really tough to face already, but my main concern is that it lacks Porygon. A good way to remedy this would be to replace Vullaby with Porygon. The amount of pressure you put on Fighting-types is huge, between the sheer damage of Torchic and Mienfoo, as well as all the Knock Off spam, and besides, Vullaby isn't a very reliable Fighting check anyways, so I do not think you'll be missing out hugely in that regard. Porygon will give you a solid Omanyte check - as it is, you'll need both priority users to take it down if it comes with Memento support, which it usually does. Currently, your team struggles a lot against Fletchdig - Pawniard gets trapped by Diglett, Vullaby has a chance to be OHKOed by +2 Acrobatics after Stealth Rock, and Snubbull already has its hands full trying to check Fighting-types, plus it gets chip damage that puts it into Diglett range pretty easily. Porygon would suffice as a Fletchling check that is not weak to Diglett, allowing Snubbull to focus on keeping Fighting-types down. It's not entirely helpless against Fighting-types itself, either, as Psychic does a lot of damage to Fighting-type switch-ins, and it can lure Pawniard in with Hidden Power Fighting. I guess Porygon > Vullaby does warrant Zen Headbutt over Aqua Jet on Carvanha more, although this isn't a huge loss, because you already have powerful priority, a Choice Scarf user, two Speed Boost users, and now a good safety net in Porygon, so revenge-killing shouldn't be a problem.
Porygon @ Eviolite
Ability: Download / Trace
Level: 5
EVs: 156 HP / 40 Def / 240 SpA / 40 Spe
Modest Nature
- Hidden Power [Fighting]
- Psychic
- Tri Attack / Ice Beam
- Recover
The given EVs allow Porygon to outspeed standard Timburr and 2HKO with Psychic. Ice Beam is if you use Trace over Download, for the OHKO on healthy Fletchling.
Other than that, Carvanha gets a Def point for free if you change its spread to 236 Atk / 36 Def / 36 SpD / 196 Spe.
e: Pawniard's Def and SpD EVs are switched from the standard. They don't hit Eviolite numbers right now

That's all I've got. Congrats on the badge, well done on the team, and good luck!

Thanks a lot for the rate, I didn't think to offensive Porygon while building this but I think that can fit the team very well :) I'll try it when the ladder goes on again and I'll let you know how it worked n_n thanks again for the rate

Hey there fren, first of all congrats on your well deserved badge! Secondly I totally love this team, it's very fun to use and since you tested it vs me I can say that its not very fun to play against with all the sheer offense lol.

Anyways I totally agree with Corporal Levi on his Porygon suggestion since it allows you to check FletchDig and Omanyte both of which are very problematic for your team, and trust me you won't have much of a problem against Fighting-types, it also kinda deals with the slight Croagunk weakness the team has thanks to Psychic.

Personally I have a small nitpick and that is to use a Jolly nature over Adamant on your scarf Mienfoo, this allows you to outspeed stuff like Choice Scarf Pawniard and Choice Scarf Chinchou, and +1 Carvanha... without risking the speed tie, and trust me that slight power difference doesn't matter at all compared to the additional speed (I can put some calcs if you want).

Other than that I don't have much to say, great team and a great user :)

mmmmm not really sure why you have Choice Scarf Mienfoo on there. You already have strong priority in Pawniard and 2 different cleaners, one of which you can dedicate to revenge killing if need be. There doesn't seem to be a need for a whole nother revenge killer, especially since you don't have a solid answer to Pawniard, since all Pawniard has to do is get a mid roll (15 HP) once on Mienfoo, and it koes with that + Sucker Punch. Your only other answer to it is your own Pawniard, or to hope that Rocks aren't down and that Torchic is above 13-16 HP (which isn't really THAT feasible with rocks + spikes + LO damage, all of which can often be relevant to your team). Or you could hope for a Pawniard vs Pawniard battle, which if its a LO Pawniard you flat out lose since most run Brick Break. Basically you run one solid answer to it (Pawniard) but that answer can't really do anything to Pawniard, and you run two flimsy checks to it. This would be ok if you could at least pressure it off, but every time Vullaby uses Brave Bird / Roost or every time you kill something it gets a free switchin to demolish your team.

One thing you could do to fix this is to run a more defensive Mienfoo. Simply running an Eviolite over Choice Scarf lets you tank Pawniard, and you can still keep the same spread (I'd run 17 Speed on Evio Foo however), however I really like to run 17 Atk and even out the defenses, since it lets it keep offensive prescence without investing too much needless EVs into Attack. You can still run High Jump Kick, but if you do that I would just run 236 / 236. Tauntfoo might be a worthy look at since it lets you stop things like Pineco Offense or Sash SR setters, which you can't really defend against without Defog on Vullaby or any other form of hazard control. I think this is important since as I stated powerful priority puts things like Carvanha and Torchic's lives on a timer, which is kinda shitty sicne you want them to deal shittons of damage in as limited an amount of turns as possible. Non-choice Mienfoo also gives you a better answer to Ferroseed without just switching in Torchic to get Twaved (since its probably often that Mienfoo uses Knock Off or something, and common Ponyta teams often use FerroSpritz).

Alternatively, if you feel that you really want Choice Scarf Foo to stay, I would at least swap Sucker Punch with Brick Break, since you do have 3 other revenge killers on hand. Brick Break would allow you to be a much more solid answer to opposing Pawniard. This is all up to you however, you can play around Pawniard with this team by baiting Sucker Punches and whatnot but IMO its always safer to have Pawniard checks, considering it is one of the most popular LC mons out there.

Hope this advice helped a bit, nice team!
