XY OU A Balanced Team In Need of Balancing ^^(so far 1400+)

Changes in bold!
Hello All;
I love making teams, started back in gen 5 and have been playing on and off competitively. I recently made a team and have finally reached 1400. It took me several team changes to get this far sadly, and wanted to see if anyone could help make my team better, since I am not an expert =/.

I started this team by choosing the walls first actually, and the first one was...

(Midori) Venusaur @ Venusaurite
Ability: Chlorophyll
EVs: 252 HP / 240 Def / 16 SDef
Bold Nature

- Giga Drain
- Leech Seed
- Sludge Bomb
- Synthesis
My Def/mixed wall and semi-staller. I feared the several fairy types like Azu and clefable, so I knew I needed a poison type. Venasaur loves to switch into grass moves like spore, grass moves aimed at Rotom, toxic aimed by gliscor etc, and fighting moves aimed at heatran. I tend to usually leech seed to get a switch or to help out-stall. I chose a special attacking venasaur in order to make will-o-wisps less of a problem and still be able to hit back normally.

(Magmu) Heatran @ Leftovers
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 252 HP / 200 Sdef / 52 Spe
Calm Nature

- Lava Plume
- Roar
- Stealth Rock
- Ancient Power
My Sdef wall, phazer and rock setter. Again, a talonflame counter and has great syngergy with my team. I decided to use roar to help stop setups. SR because it helps against that zard y along with the ancient power to hurt opposing fire types.

Through out my changes to my team, I have always kept my defensive core. The changes were usually offensively based. At first I didn't have enough fast offense, which caused fast sweepers like Greninja and even less speedier mons like mega-medicham to punch holes into my team.

(Graboid T) Landorus-Therian (M) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 28 HP / 252 Atk / 228 Spe
Jolly
Nature
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
- U-turn
- Knock Off
My revenge killer and physical choiced sweeper. Like I stated, I lacked speed and Landorus-T had offense and speed when scarfed. Intimidate allows it to switch in more, which I tend to take advantage of against excadril(switch in and take a hit or on a predicted earthquake and scare it out or ko. U-turn for the momentum and dark types like Tyranitar, knock off for those evolite and psychic types, stone edge for flying types, and quake for stab.

(Giuseppe) Conkeldurr @ Assault Vest
Ability: Guts
EVs: 40 HP / 252 Atk / 216 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Drain Punch
- Mach Punch
- Ice Punch
- Knock Off
My special tank and physical sweeper number 2. With 2 walls that use special attacks, I felt I needed another heavy physical hitter, and Conkledurr hits hard and packs priority for things a scarf can't help against. Drain punch and mach punch to help handle dark types(bisharp), ice punch for coverage and to hit things like gliscor and dragons, and knock off to help hurt things that switch in.
Latias_attack_by_shiroiwolf.jpg

Latias @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 72 HP / 184 Sp.Atk. / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Psyshock
- Draco Meteor
- Roost
- Defog

And finally my defoger and special sweeper. Latias can switch in on quakes aimed at heatran and gets rid of hazards safely once bisharps are out of the match. Draco meteor as a before death fire work display or for a ko. Psyshock for the blissey/chansey I encounter. Roost to help gimme more of 1 chance to defog if needed.

And as suggested by Rob. :
Gyarados (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Intimidate
EVs: 56 HP / 220 Atk / 232 Spe
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Dragon Dance
- Waterfall
- Bounce
- Substitute
Replacing my Rotom-W, Gyarados uses its offense to help clean up later in the match. Using sub and leftovers to help prevent a status affect, it ddances and threatens enemy M-Venusaur which I have had to outstall....with my own M-Venusaur...not fun lol. Also uses intimidate to help lessen switch-in damage when not on an Equake prediction and to cause switches.

Welp, that's my team. Its taken me at least 12 team changes(lost count, tried so many ou mons, even dragonite and espeon =/) to get to this point. I've only made it to 1400 recently and have yet to go further because of work. Please help my team in anyway you can ^^.

Hey, nice balanced team! I run several of these move sets on my pokes, but on thing that really bothers me is thunderbolt on latios. I normally run HP(Fire)> Thunderbolt to take down wall mamoswines, etc... But otherwise your team is pretty solid. :)

Run 252 Def on Mega Venu, or a Calm nature. Heatran is better Sp. Def. Jolly on Scarf Lando, otherwise Zard X wrecks your team.

Hey, I'm here with a few suggestions that should help you. Mega Venusaur, Heatran, and Landorus-T compliment each other perfectly, so there's no need to run Rotom-W. You use Rotom-W as a special wall when you already have Specially defensive Mega Venusaur. You also use Rotom-W as a second check to Flying type spam despite having Heatran and Landrus-T, both are very capable of handling Flying spam. I suggest replacing Rotom-W with Gyarados. Gyarados can break opposing Pokemon that the team has trouble dealing with, such as Landorus-T, Mega Venusaur, Gliscor, and etc. It'll also have a better chance to sweep after its checks are removed by Conkeldurr. You should also consider swapping the roles of Mega Venusaur and Heatran. Make Mega Venusaur defensive and Heatran specially defensive. Mega Venusaur can still handle special threats like Greninja without SDef investment. Physically defensive Mega Venusaur would make it easier to deal with threats like Azumarill, CB Scizor, Terrakion, and Bisharp. I suggest a 252 HP / 240 Def / 16 SDef Bold nature EV spread for Mega Venusaur. You should also run Leech Seed over Sleep Powder to force opponents out while replenishing HP. Good Luck, I hope I helped a bit.
Gyarados (M) @ Leftovers / Lum Berry
Trait: Intimidate
EVs: 56 HP / 220 Atk / 232 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Dragon Dance
- Waterfall
- Bounce
- Substitute / Taunt

Heatran (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Flash Fire
EVs: 252 HP / 200 SDef / 56 Spd
Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Lava Plume
- Toxic
- Stealth Rock
- Protect

Laladeda : Hi, thanks for the hp fire suggestion. I'll definitely try that out since t-bolt seemed a little replaceable on my latios ^^. Is there anything better than these IVs for hp fire? 31 30 31 30 31 30?

PixelPea : Thanks for the suggestion to change M-Venusaur Ev's. And I'll try out the jolly Lando, I am a little afraid jolly would be a great loss in atk.

Rob. : Hey, thank you for the sets. I'll use your M-Venusaur nature and Ev's suggestion and I'll try leech seed. Also, thank you for the heatran and gyarados sets. I actually used that same gyarados set before I got my current sweepers but I switched it out for something faster since I lacked speed at the time. I am glad I get to use it again ^^.

Np, and I'm not too good when it comes to IVs. I normally have a friend breed my pokemon for me x3. But I think they look okay.

Hey, nice balanced team! I run several of these move sets on my pokes, but on thing that really bothers me is thunderbolt on latios. I normally run HP(Fire)> Thunderbolt to take down wall mamoswines, etc... But otherwise your team is pretty solid. :)
252 SpA Life Orb Latios Hidden Power Fire vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Thick Fat Mamoswine: 130-153 (36.2 - 42.6%) -- guaranteed 3HKO
244 Atk Life Orb Mamoswine Icicle Crash vs. 4 HP / 0 Def Latios: 437-515 (144.7 - 170.5%) -- guaranteed OHKO
252 SpA Life Orb Latios Draco Meteor vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Mamoswine: 419-493 (116.7 - 137.3%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Why would you ever run hp fire for mamoswine specifically? HP fighting for bisharp and t-tar who pursuit trap, as well as steel/ice types, or t/bolt/surf would be my suggestion. HP fire is mostly for ferrothorn. You will never, ever use hp fire on a mamoswine.

If you want, run 228 Speed EVs on Landorus with a Jolly Nature as this means you outspeed 152 Spe EVs +1 Char X by one point. ( Generally the maximum people put in a DDance Char X)

Also, I would replace Latios with Latias if you're using it for Defog + Special Sweep. A little more bulk and more chance to get a Defog off.

Suggested Set:

Latias
@ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 72 HP / 184 Sp.Atk. / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Psyshock
- Draco Meteor
- Roost
- Defog

Laladeda :its ok, thanks for the suggestion anyway, I tried it but it hasn't helped much just yet lol.

PandaDuckHybrid : Your right, I was recently pursuit trapped by t-tar and thought hp fighting might be better actually.

But I think I'll try this suggestion...
Volteli : Thanks for the latias set. I played a few matches (still in early 1400) and found less chances to switch in. I guess I still didn't know how big of a hit latios could take to defog. Latias is much bulkier and I will definitely try it.

I'll also try the Lando ev's, thank you.
