Introduction:

Hey everyone, it's Toon Linked here bringing you my first RMT. I decided to make a team with Mega Scizor because it's just so good in the current metagame. This team peaked 1500 and I'm making my way up, but anyways, I hope you enjoy!

scizor-mega.png

I wanted to build a team around Mega Scizor because he destroys everything.

I wanted a bulky water who could absorb fire attacks for Scizor and sweep.

I was weak to Mega Manectric and Talonflame so I decided to use Raikou.

Scarfed Lando-T looked like a problem and Hawlucha does well against it.

Life Orb Gengar was put on to the team because he hits so hard and not much switch-in to it.

I wanted a bulky Stealth Rocker who could also deal with Bird Spam and absorb fire moves just in case Manaphy was gone.

Lando-T was a problem so I put defensive Chomp onto the team.

In Depth Analysis

Scizor @ Scizorite
Ability: Light Metal
EVs: 248 HP / 44 Atk / 16 Def / 200 SpD
Impish Nature
- Swords Dance
- Roost
- Bullet Punch
- Knock Off

I decided to use Mega Scizor because it's amazing right now. I went with the Bulky SD + Roost Mega Scizor. The EV spread is used to take hits from pokemon like the Lati twins, Mega Gardevoir, and other special attackers. 46 Attack EVs with Adamant gives Mega Scizor some power and the rest of the EVs give him bulk at the same time. Roost is used to recover from attacks and keep Scizor from getting knocked out. Knock Off helps me get rid of items and pokemon that annoy me such as Chansey. Swords Dance is a standard move on Mega Scizor, as it makes his attack tremendously high. Bullet Punch gives Scizor priority and it gains the Technician boost at the same time, plus STAB, making Bullet Punch an excellent move on him.

Manaphy @ Leftovers
Ability: Hydration
EVs: 96 HP / 160 Spe / 252 SpA
Modest Nature
- Scald
- Tail Glow
- Energy Ball
- Ice Beam

Here it is, the pokemon that always sweeps. Manaphy is becoming better and better as the metagame progresses and after a Tail Glow, its hard to stop. I decided to use a Manaphy that was could outspeed lots of pokemon, while maintaining bulk. Tail Glow turns him into a sweeper, boosting it's special attack to monstrous levels. Scald is just great on Manaphy in general, as it can burn opponents and with STAB, it hits like a truck. Energy Ball is for coverage on Manaphy and allows it to beat the bulky waters that would otherwise wall it, such as Rotom-W. Ice Beam helps me against dragons like Latios or Altaria. Leftovers are necessary on Manaphy, as it gives it the recovery it needs.

Raikou @ Assault Vest
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 SpA / 24 SpD / 232 Spe
Timid Nature
- Thunderbolt
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Volt Switch
- Shadow Ball

Raikou was put on to the team to patch up my Mega Manectric weakness, and with it's speed and power, it hits hard while sponging hits on the special side. Thunderbolt is a powerful STAB on Raikou and is necessary to hit lots of pokemon hard such as Mega Charizard Y, bulky waters, and other pokemon. Hidden Power Ice helps me beat the ground types that threaten Raikou, like Landorus, Gliscor, or Garchomp. Volt Switch completes my Volt-Turn core with Mega Scizor as well as giving me momentum while still doing heavy amounts of damage. Shadow Ball is used for coverage, and it helps against pokemon like Excadrill, Mamoswine, Latios, or Latias. The EVs allow it to outspeed lots of pokemon, while giving it some bulk and massive power. I may lose the speed tie to Starmie, but most don't stay in anyways.

Hawlucha @ Sitrus Berry
Ability: Unburden
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
IVs: 29 HP
- High Jump Kick
- Substitute
- Acrobatics
- Swords Dance

In my opinion, Hawlucha is very underrated. It's speed is off the charts and with Sub + SD, it's an easy sweep. High Jump Kick is an amazing STAB on Hawlucha, and it hits steels that annoy the team. Substitute helps me get my Unburden boost, and if the opponent doesn't break it, I can set up a Swords Dance and proceed to sweep. Acrobatics is great on Unburden Hawlucha because once my Sitrus Berry activates, it has a base power of 110 and with STAB, it punches holes. The EV spread lets me outspeed so many pokemon, like Starmie, Raikou, Mega Diancie, and other base 110's. Swords Dance boosts Hawlucha's attack by 2, and makes it a strong sweeper. The IVs allow me to only have to use Substitute twice in order to gain my Unburden boost.

Gengar @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Sludge Wave
- Shadow Ball
- Focus Blast
- Destiny Bond

This ghost provides great offense for the team. Sludge Wave is the strongest STAB and gets rid of annoying fairy types like Clefable and Gardevoir (whose hyper voice destroys Hawlucha). Shadow Ball has extremely good coverage, being resisted by only dark types and immune to normal types. Focus Blast takes care of the normal types that would otherwise be immune to Shadow Ball, and Focus Miss Blast really helps against pokemon like Diggersby, Chansey, or Mega Lopunny. Destiny Bond is a last resort as it works well against Bisharp and other threats to Gengar. Life Orb is used to hit as hard as possible.

Garchomp @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Rough Skin
EVs: 252 HP / 164 Def / 76 SpD / 16 Spe
Impish Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- Dragon Tail
- Fire Blast

The previous member of the team was Heatran, but that just made Lando-T an even bigger threat, so Garchomp is now here. Rocky Helmet + Rough Skin combine for a total of 29/30% of recoil damage. The EV spread gives Garchomp the ability to be a defensive tank and it also gives it some SpD bulk. Stealth Rock is to get rid of Sashes and deal lots of damage to pokemon like Charizard, Talonflame, Kyurem-B, etc. Earthquake is a powerful STAB that deals a ton of damage, and Dragon Tail is for STAB that also phazes out opponents. Fire Blast is to deal massive damage to steels such as Scizor, Ferrothorn, or Skarmory.

Threats

landorus.gif

If this monster gets a Rock Polish up, I'm pretty much screwed. With Life Orb, this hits like a truck and it has decent bulk. Manaphy can take a hit, but not two. Gengar can wall it, but that's if it doesn't have Psychic or Knock Off.

Scizor @ Scizorite
Ability: Light Metal
EVs: 248 HP / 44 Atk / 16 Def / 200 SpD
Impish Nature
- Swords Dance
- Roost
- Bullet Punch
- Knock Off

Manaphy @ Leftovers
Ability: Hydration
EVs: 96 HP / 160 Spe / 252 SpA
Modest Nature
- Scald
- Tail Glow
- Energy Ball
- Ice Beam

Raikou @ Assault Vest
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 SpA / 24 SpD / 232 Spe
Timid Nature
- Thunderbolt
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Volt Switch
- Shadow Ball

Hawlucha @ Sitrus Berry
Ability: Unburden
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
IVs: 29 HP
- High Jump Kick
- Substitute
- Acrobatics
- Swords Dance

Gengar @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Sludge Wave
- Shadow Ball
- Focus Blast
- Destiny Bond

Garchomp @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Rough Skin
EVs: 252 HP / 164 Def / 76 SpD / 16 Spe
Impish Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- Dragon Tail
- Fire Blast

Toon Fuckin Lonk Its about time you made an RMT, anyway it looks alot like my upcoming RMT (which will be tuesday).

Minor Suggestions

Looks good but I don't see much use in toxic on heatran tho. Maybe do roar instead as it stops pokemon from setting up.

Make scizor have technician over light metal.

Also add Mega Sableye to your threat list. Other wise solid team.

He's gonna mega immediatly so Light Metal works out fine. Toxic limits opponents for the rest of the game, instead of relying on a switch out. Mega Sableye can be taken care of by Manaphy after a tail glow, or Hawlucha once sitrus berry is gone and a swords dance has been set up.

Hey, thanks for the suggestions. Like Team Pokepals said, I don't need Technician on Scizor really since I'm gonna mega anyways, and I guess the Light Metal could help to eat up Heavy Slams or Grass Knots. Toxic helps me a lot, so that things like Slowbro don't set up on me and proceed to sweep me. Mega Sableye was easily taken care of, all I have to do is somehow set up a sub and Hawlucha will be able to beat it, or I could just absorb the Will-O, but anyways, it hasn't been much of a problem. Once again, thanks for the rate!

That Scizor spread is pretty outdated, and I think it also got rejected for an analysis recently. I would instead go with a bulky SD set using Knock Off instead. That allows you to retain your defensive utility and also gain more offensive presence. I would also change out Heatran, as it currently kills any momentum your team builds. A mixed bulk Tank Garchomp would fit your team well, as it would give you a strong blanket physical check as well as phazing ability.

Other small things:
  • Run 252 speed on Raikou, and 232 Special Attack. There's no reason not to speed tie Mega Houndoom and Starmie
  • Taunt on Gengar works better than DBond. Taunt breaks up a lot of generic, fat defensive cores.
  • I would run a 96 HP / 252 SpA / 160 Spe on Manaphy, as Chomper handles physical attackers. The added speed allows you to outspeed a large group of things, from Adamant Bisharp all the way up to Jolly offensive Scizor.
Hope this all helps!

Hey, thanks for the rate! Yeah, I was also thinking about SD Bulky Scizor, so I'll change that. And yeah, I'll change Heatran to Garchomp since Lando-T is a problem and defensive chomp does well against it. I think I'm gonna keep Destiny Bond because its been working so well for me and I've used Taunt in the past. With Raikou, I want to hit as hard as possible while having some bulk for AV. I'll also change Manaphy's spread to yours. Once again, thanks a bunch for rating!

Cool team man, only have a few suggestion maybe u should consider. First put Taunt > Dbond on Gengar just to cripple fat mons and nasty stall and put a lil bit of speed more on chomp just to outspeed Breloom and Jolly Sharp etc. And last i suggest a better spread on hawlucha with other set just because the current set misses on certains fat ko's mon and i've see a lot of torn-t, alakazam etc that u dont outspeed either way running jolly, here my suggestions.
Garchomp @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Rough Skin
EVs: 228 HP / 176 Def / 104 Spe
Impish Nature
- Earthquake
- Stealth Rock
- Dragon Tail
- Fire Blast

Hawlucha @ Power Herb
Ability: Unburden
EVs: 8 HP / 248 Atk / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Sky Attack
- High Jump Kick
- Acrobatics
- Swords Dance

I leave some calcs of the most commons walls
+2 248+ Atk Hawlucha Sky Attack vs. 252 HP / 160 Def Clefable: 420-495 (106.5 - 125.6%) -- guaranteed OHKO
+2 248+ Atk Hawlucha Sky Attack vs. 252 HP / 144+ Def Hippowdon: 276-325 (65.7 - 77.3%) although u can set up here if hippo dont pack Whirlwind
+2 248+ Atk Hawlucha Sky Attack vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Slowbro: 267-315 (67.7 - 79.9%)
4 SpA Slowbro Psyshock vs. 8 HP / 0 Def Hawlucha: 218-260 (72.9 - 86.9%)
Hope i help u
