SV OU A bulky balanced team

You may question why i began with Great Tusk of all pokemon. Well, I thought "Oh man kingambit is soo scary i wish i had someone to counter him!" Soo i picked great tusk after just 2 google searches. I also think Great Tusk will fill the Rapid Spin niche the team need. The tera type is Fire because that is what the smogon guide told me (Not even kidding lol).

:Skarmory:
Skarmory @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Sturdy
Tera Type: Dragon
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Impish Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Body Press
- Iron Defense
- Roost
- Stealth Rock
At this point i though "Well i need defense. Oh and also, Better get a steel type early, Hate those pesky poison types!" and i chose skarmory because it has a great typing and could severely impede enemy great tusks chances against my own great tusk. The thought process behind picking skarmory is that i needed stealth rocks and a defensive wall. I really can't go on with it for much longer because i think there is nothing to say about picking skarmory. (Dragon type tera once again because the smogon guide told me to.) The smogon guide also said that skarmory is good on balance teams due to being able to get iron defenses up and running to patch a hole against those pesky setup sweepers soo there's that i guess. It's also worth noting how skarmory is my only line of defense against Prankster Riolu using Copycat Fly due to rocky helmet and being able to litteraly outstall all the PP copycat has with iron defense.

:Meowscarada:

At this point i thought "Oh man i need speed control, And also what about enemy great tusk?" Soo i picked meowscarada because it was litteraly the first pokemon that came to mind that filled both requirements. I frankly think this is a very standard set. I think triple axel helps hit dragapult without choice scarf.
:Magnezone:
Magnezone @ Choice Specs
Ability: Analytic
Tera Type: Grass
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Thunderbolt
- Flash Cannon
- Volt Switch
- Tera Blast
At this point i was like "Damn my team has no special attack. Let's see who here hits hard... Oh wait, Magnezone ALSO can resist a Make It Rain from gholdengo on 1/4!?!?!?!? That's soo good!" And that's it. Magnezone fills the role of being a special attacker, And an extra option against all these WALKING WAKES and all these gholdengos. The respectable bulk and typing is why i chose magnezone over other special attacking candidates, Even though you might say "But earthquake!". I really can't keep talking much longer.

:Weavile:
Weavile @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Pressure
Tera Type: Dark
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Triple Axel
- Knock Off
- Ice Shard
- Low Kick
At this point i was like "Damn man where are all the wallbreakers at?! And i also need some ice type to counter grass types... Weavile's cool i guess". The biggest function weavile does is obviously wallbreaking. I haven't put much choice into weavile besides seeing weavile as a fast, strong, and possibly good wallbreaker that my team is sure to benefit from.

:Ting-Lu:
Ting-Lu @ Leftovers
Ability: Vessel of Ruin
Tera Type: Poison
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Careful Nature
- Spikes
- Earthquake
- Whirlwind
- Ruination
At this point i was like "Hmmm i need someone who can use spikes to pair up with my skarmory, I have no special defenders as well... Also begone you pesky Poison Types!!!!" Soo ting lu was the natural choice because 1. Ting lu has a high special defense and lowers enemy special attack, 2. The smogon guide told me ting lu has synergy with skarmory.



It is worth noting that this is litteraly my first attempt at an OU team, I played NU and PU almost exclusively before. If you wanna change a pokemon on the team, Suggest the replacement without worry as i probably can't come up with anything better than what you have got! Also this team is in dire need of a fire type resistance.

Really like this team and the mons you chose however I would like to suggest some small tweaks.

1. I feel you really want a way to immediately pressure :ogerpon-Wellspring: such I suggest changing the :skarmory: set to this below.

Skarmory @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Sturdy

Tera Type: Dragon
Impish Nature
- Body Press
- Brave Bird
- Spikes
- Roost

Brave bird allow you to just immediately threaten ogerpon while still checking :kingambit: with body press.

2. Small change here going tera steel on :great tusk: this allow you to resist :roaring moon:’s acrobatics, :rillaboom:’s grassy glide; while still resisting :kyurem: ’s ice moves.

3. Honestly :magnezone: is really really meh not very reliable at telling steels due to tera and it’s pretty outclassed as a breaker and by many things. Also I seen you lacked a consistent check to :Iron valiant:. So I opted for :slowking galar: instead a good check for iron valiant and gives pivot and future sight support for :weavile: and : meowscarda:

4. Change the :weavile: set to swords dance and make it tera ghost to dodge priority like extreme speed :Dragonite:.

Hey man i played some games and i had very little success soo far with this new and proposed team. Notably i lost to a mono ice team and a NU team (In OU) which makes me feel very dumb. Would you be soo kind as to offer more help please?
