As of right now nothing can "Counter" Garchomp and people 'laugh' when I claimed that Leafeon could be a very viable counter. Here is a list of moves that Leafeon could use to dispatch Garchomp.

Of course Yawn + Protect is by far the best way to deal with it. However, your not limited to just that of course.

Here are some damage Calc's going off Max Defense Impish Leafeon and Max attack Garchomp. (Garchomp Vs. Leafeon of course)

Impish Leafeon - (No Item/ Stat Boost)
Leaf Blade - 31.28% - 36.59%
Leaf Blade with Critical Hit - 62.29% - 73.46%

Yawn nets you at least 2 turns to do w/e assuming that they stay in. So your last hit is a gamble. But if you hate Garchomp the risk you take may be worth it. Random Fact #2: Agilpoleon is my favorite sweeper! This is not a Garchomp is OU/ Uber thread. I just though i'd show sometthing that is rather interesting to me. Let me know if you tried it and if it works for you!
Is Tangerine a guy or a girl, well it doesnt matter because i think any one with the name Tangerine has to be an antractive person!

BTW: Is there a 'Official' definiation of a counter? :P

You make an argument by posting all Jolly natures but Yache set is Adamant a good amount of the time...

Is this a serious discussion or one full of secret messages?

Leafeon is a horrible counter because a counter has to be able to switch in and stop the threat.

Take fire fang out of the picture because Fire Fang has 130 base power while Outrage has 150.

SD Outrage will always 2hko, gg.
You are also slower, with 95 base speed < 102.
Even dragon claw 2hko's.

You are forced to Yawn + Protect and even then you will be unable to switch in again without further support.

While it's certainly not the greatest counter in the world. Just because SD Outrage 2HKO's doesn't mean it's not viable... The scenario would generally go like this.

Garchomp switches into X

X switches out Leafeon switches in
Garchomp uses Swords Dance/unboosted Outrage which 3HKOs

Garchomp uses Outrage (It fails to KO)
Leafeon uses Yawn

Garchomp can't switch out, uses Outrage again.
Leafeon uses Protect, Garchomp falls asleep.

You do something with your free turns.

It's not the best Garchomp counter... and at its best leaves you with a 20% Leafeon, and a sleeping Garchomp instead of a dead one... But it's by no means horrible. But it works on any Non-CB Garchomp...

Don't bash a set right away just because it gets 2HKO'd AFTER the boost.... Garchomp still has to you know... GET the boost. It's not implied.

A counter must be able to both switch into the pokémon it's supposed to counter, with little to no risk to itself, and also pose an immediate threat to said pokémon.

Also there's the problem of Yawn failing when another pokemon is already asleep. If you're going that far to add a yawn + protect leafeon to deal with Garchomp you're overcentralizing considering it doesnt really protect you against other threats that much lol
