For a long time, I have been trying to come up with a weather team that is not 100% dependent on the weather. This concept can function rather well without the sun, but the sun greatly enhances their capabilities. I have tested this team against many and it has won all but 3 battles. With that introduction out of the way, I would like to present my Sun Team.

FoxMcCloud (Ninetales) (M) @ Air Balloon
Trait: Drought
EV's: 252 SpA/ 4 SpD/ 252 Speed
Nature: Modest
-Sunny Day
-SolarBeam
-Fire Blast
-Will O' Wisp

The function of Ninetails on a Sun Team is the most important one: It brings in the sun!!! FoxMcCloud is no exception. When I was thinking of the moveset for him two very common moves against weather teams came to mind. One was switching into their own weather inducer, and the other was to send in their greatest physical attacker to try to phase him out with their Earthquake. Sunny Day may seem like a gimmicky move to put on a Pokemon that already induces weather, but it is a smart idea if you're going against another weather team to bring the sun back and make them phase out of their own weather inducer. I put Will O' Wisp on him to cripple any physical attackers that may switch in. Fire Blast and SolarBeam are to give him a strong specially-offensive side.

Humpty (Exeggutor) (F) @ Life Orb
Trait: Chlorophyll
EV's: 4 HP/ 252 SpA/ 252 Speed
Nature: Modest
-Giga Drain
-Psyshock
-Hidden Power Fire
-Sleep Powder

Humpty serves as a Special Attacker, but easily becomes a sweeper when underneath the sun with her ability Chlorophyll. Sleep Powder serves to put any major threat to sleep and allow her to chip off damage with her high powered special attacks. I was stuck between SolarBeam and Giga Drain for one of the places on her moves slot. I ultimately ended up choosing Giga Drain for two reasons. One, it serves as a backup in case the Sun isn't up, and it allows Humpty to heal back any damage she takes from attacks and her own Life Orb. Hidden Power Fire is used to deal damage against other Grass Types, Ice Types, and the ever so pesky Bug Type. Psyshock helps get rid of pesky walls.

UpsideDown (Hitmontop) (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Intimidate
EV's: 252 HP/ 252 Def/ 4 Speed
Nature: Impish
-Rapid Spin
-Toxic
-Stone Edge
-Close Combat

UpsideDown serves the all important purpose of being the team's Spinner. He helps spin entry hazards away to prevent my team from taking additional damage outside of battle. Toxic is a way of crippling switch ins by inflicting them with status right when they enter battle. Stone Edge serves the purpose of Damaging common Flying-Type switch ins. Close Combat gives him more offensive strength to add combative strengths to match his defense.

OhHiThere (Chandelure) (F) @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Flash Fire
EV's: 252 SpA/ 4 SpD/ 252 Speed
Nature: Timid
-Fire Blast
-Shadow Ball
-Energy Ball
-Trick

OhHiThere serves as the team's Revenge Killer. Equipped with a Choice Scarf and given extra EV's in Speed, she serves her purpose well. Fire Blast is her most powerful move, and is given even more of a boost in the Sun. Shadow Ball serves to phase out bulky Ghost types such as Dusclops, and allows her to revenge kill powerful Psychic types with ease. Energy Ball allows her to deal with Water Types such as Blastoise and Jellicent. Trick is a nifty way of crippling defensive Pokemon such as Sableye and Blissey, crippling them down into using one move.

467-shiny-frame1.png

EatMahLazar (Magmortar) (M) @ Expert Belt
Trait: Vital Spirit
EV's: 24 HP/ 252 SpA/ 232 Speed
Nature: Timid
-Fire Blast
-Thunderbolt
-Focus Blast
-Hidden Power Grass

EatMahLazar serves the purpose of being a WallBreaker to many of the Physically Defensive Pokemon that fill the tiers. Fire Blast gets even more powerful in the sun (as I may have mentioned before). Thunderbolt helps land a powerful blow to any water types that may switch in. Focus Blast helps deal with one of the worst enemies to a Sun Team: Heatran. It also helps with bulky Rock and Steel types. Hidden Power Grass is also used to have coverage against Ground types such as Physically Defensive Hippowdon.

Paul (Virizion) @ Lum Berry
Trait: Justified
EV's: 4 HP/ 252 Attk/ 252 Speed
Nature: Jolly
-Sword's Dance
-Leaf Blade
-Stone Edge
-Close Combat

Paul is the Physical Attacker of the team. It uses a switch out as the perfect chance to gain a Sword's Dance boost under it's belt. With at least one boost, it can tear through most Pokemon with relative ease. Leaf Blade serves as a high hitting attack against bulky Pokemon such as Jellicent and Swampert. Stone Edge allows it to fight against opposing Flying types and is even enough to take out a MultiScale Dragonite with one Sword's Dance boost. Close Combat give it more coverage against typings that don't care too much for Stone Edge and Leaf Blade.

Anyways, that's my team. Feel free to leave any feedback. What's good, what's bad, and what may need to be improved. ANY criticism is welcomed!

Well, the biggest worry I see with this team is the over abundance of Fire-Types and the lack of any Entry Hazard setters (though the spinner pleases me).

You have the weather inducer, which is definitely what is needed. Your choice of Chlorophyll users surprises me. Eggsecutor, in my opinion, is well inferior to Venusaur--and literally, replace Eggsecutor with Venusaur and Psyshock with Growth and you already have a set-up sweeper.

Magmortar would possibly catch people off guard, but I seriously doubt it will leave a lasting impression. As a Fire-Type, it's obviously weak to Rain. In its place, you could possibly run a Ferrothorn in case of Rain. It will at least give you an answer to Politoed's annoyance.

Virizion could also be replaced with Terrakion, but breaking from the usual OU faction is always welcome. Besides, you run what Terrakion would with Close Combat and Stone Edge. Virizion also seems like a good answer to Rain Teams and Tyranitar (and, to an extent, Hippowdon).

Finally, Chandelure. I have nothing against it, but wouldn't it be more productive to wait until Shadow Tag comes out...if it does at all? Anyways, if you're looking for a revenge killer other than Scizor, Gengar also comes in handy. What's cool about your team is that Pursuit can easily be scouted and users of Pursuit can easily be defeated, meaning that Gengar could Revenge Kill with ease given the circumstances. On top of that, Chandelure lacks the speed that most Scarfers have, particularly Former OU King Landorus-I, but since that's banned (wish Keldeo went instead), other excellent users of Choice Scarf for this team include Hydreigon, Latios, and Salamence. I have nothing against Chandelure, but it seems somewhat outclassed right now...

Overall, the team had some heart put into it (and the low Tiered Pokemon will throw some Competitive Players off like when I use Scarf Zard on my personal Sun Team) and, honestly, I can see how this could beat quite a few opponents. That's just me, though.
