XY OU A little bit Tanky

This is my first post on a forum period so forgive me if I do anything wrong, but this is the team I've been using on Showdown for a while and I've gotten to about 1500 so far with it, any feed back would be most helpful. This team normally ends up making me have long drawn out battles but it is very effective at weeding out threats, but it is very prediction heavy. Any criticism is welcome, i only play the game to have fun and post a video on youtube every once in a while.

Without further ado:

Arcanine (F) @ Leftovers

Trait: Intimidate

EVs: 248 HP / 8 Atk / 252 Def

Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk)

- Will-O-Wisp

- Close Combat

- Morning Sun

- Flare Blitz

I chose Defensive Arcanine because I needed a reliable tank with intimidate to weaken any physical threats. This thing is an absolute blessing on this team as it allows all of the rest of the physically bulky pokemon tank much more easily. I chose will-o-miss to get crucial burns on pokemon that feel they are safe or are expecting an attacker build, which lets arcanine wall better along with morning sun. Close combat was chosen over extremespeed to prevent rock types ( especially tyranitar) from being too much of a nuisance. I often miss extremespeed because i have lost a match due to having no priority move to pick off weakened threats. Flare blitz is just a reliable stab to rack up damage.

Skarmory (M) @ Rocky Helmet

Trait: Sturdy

EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 Spd

Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk)

- Stealth Rock

- Brave Bird

- Roost

- Defog

Skarmory doesnt really have much that needs explaining outside of being something to set up rocks and take physical hits it resists. I also use him sometimes as a sacrifice to get rid of talonnflame when necessary. Brave bird is helpful at times against venusaurs if they go on the offensive, and defog gets rid of hazards and isnt that big of a deal because my team rarely relies on them.

Landorus (Landorus-T) (M) @ Choice Scarf

Trait: Intimidate

EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spd

IVs: 30 HP / 30 Def

Lonely Nature (+Atk, -Def)

- Earthquake

- Knock Off

- U-turn

- Hidden Power [Ice]

Landorus is used to take care of pesky threats like greninja or anything weakened or weak to EQ's. It is also makes a nice pair with anyone who tries to EQ arcanine with intimidate, but it mostly here to be a phaser or force switches on people. I chose EQ as a strong stab. u-turn for greninja on the switch and to maintain momentum with the scarf. Knock off to handle pesky psychic types ( cough cough mew, cough cough espeon), and hp ice simply to stop gliscor from being a bigger nuisance than it already is.

Sableye (M) @ Leftovers

Trait: Prankster

EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SDef

Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk)

- Knock Off

- Taunt

- Will-O-Wisp

- Recover

Sableye is often my lead to slowly weaken and phase any pokemon that try to set up or sweep physically. He is a big nuisance and causes people to forfeit simply because he can stall and slowly deplete whole teams if they don't have something a special attacker or a fairy attack. He also makes a nice switch in from any psychic moves used on venusaur. This is a fairly standard set, i chose knock off over foul play just to put big old dents in espeon switches, and to knock off any eviolites or sashes.

Venusaur (M) @ Venusaurite

Trait: Chlorophyll

EVs: 252 HP / 240 Def / 16 Spd

IVs: 30 Atk / 30 SAtk / 30 Spd

Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)

- Giga Drain

- Sludge Bomb

- Synthesis

- Hidden Power [Fire]

I chose this big ol' boy to be my go to defensive wall. It can eat many hits and heal them off, especially if its opponents have been burned. I chose synthesis to keep damage off and make it an effective wall, giga drain to take care of bulky water types like slowbro, sludge bomb as a strong stab, and hidden power to threaten scizors and ferrothorns(no leech seed for you).

Chansey (F) @ Eviolite

Trait: Natural Cure

EVs: 252 Def / 252 SDef

Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)

- Toxic

- Heal Bell

- Soft-Boiled

- Seismic Toss

This fat pink marshmallow was chose for the obvious reason of stopping any special threats. It does its job splendidly and the only thing i generally watch out for are knock offs which make it semi-useless. I gave it toxic to stop walls that resist burning or can heal off the damage burning does faster than its dealt, seismic toss to get off damage, softboiled to keep health up, and heal bell to keep its team free of status, as it is basically all defensive, one stray health problem and im in trouble. Once any special threats are taken care of chansey is basically scrappable to me so sometimes ill use her as a strategic sacrifice.

Let me know what you think, thank you!
