Erm... woah. Okay... 80+ minutes of a youtube video here, which is probably some kind of talk or something but let me just get to the good stuff.
This guy (okay, not "guy" but Wolfram the creator of Mathematica) starts out with Cellular Automota and Turing Machines and then begins to describe phenomenon in our universe that correspond to simple rules applied to those kinds of systems.
Perhaps what is most amazing... is that Wolfram's "Rule 110" for Cellular Automata is Turing Complete. While I'm unsure if this can "prove" that our universe can be emulated by a Cellular Automata or a Turing Machine... it certainly seems like some sort of interesting phenomenon.
Discuss?
EDIT: God Damn it... is this movie really 5 years old? >_> Damn, sorry if this is old.
