Why use Hippowondon instead for Tyranitar it get Special Boost He also get better attacks and better atk. It can Dragon Dance and all sort of attack.
So whats better with Hippowondon?

In my case Tyranitar is 10 times better Sanc Streamer.
 
Hippowdon and tyranitar have completely different roles.Hippowdon serves as a prime physical wall while tyranitar is ment for sweeping.Hippowdon is way better at taking physical hits than tyranitar and has a 50% recovery move.Tyranitar on the other hand has a massive base ATK combined with dragon dance or a choice band to play with.

Yea, Hippowdon is a great physical wall, were as Tyranitar cant take a brick break. Hippos also got Slack off, however Tyranitar has DD.

It all depends on what you need in your party.
