A ReCAP: Artistic Designs that Almost Made It

Hiya! I was wondering if I could write an article with the same premise as this. I feel that as we have had an article evaluating the almost-designs of Gen 4 CAP Pokemon, it would be fitting to have one for Gn 5 designs. The article will feature 4 or 5 submitted designs that almost became the official design for that CAP (I want to have roughly a few more designs shown for each CAP as there are less CAPmons in Gen 5), and explain the qualities and my own opinions on the designs, as well as potentially why they didn't quite make it.

That's all I have to say regarding my idea for an article. Thanks for listening, hope you like the idea!

I could see this happen. Reasons why they didn't win can be a tricky subject since the answer is not always rational but instead public opinion (since there's a vote), but there's definitely some good designs in each round so I'd be happy to give them some extra spotlight.

I wouldn't mind having this article. Approved. Do make sure your opinions try to make sense and are fair.

When you post your thread in the Article Workshop, you need to set labels for it. As your article is for Arts & Recreations, you can use AR to indicate it. You'll need to set the issue's number too. Since this is our 32nd issue, it'll look like this: [32-AR]. For the tags that say WIP, Grammar, etc, those are the stages your article are in. Since you'll ideally be working on it after posting, mark it as WIP. When you finish, move it to Grammar and get it checked twice by other people. Afterward is the HTML stage and someone will put it into HTML code. Your article will eventually get art done for it and it'll be complete! Also, I'd like to tag Birkal to get you access to Article Workshop asap. He may also have an opinion to share on this matter.

Thanks for your interest in writing for The Smog! You can discuss the progress of your article(s) on #thesmog (on synirc) with other writers, however keep in mind this is the only place you can discuss your article(s). If you have any questions, feel free to PM any of The Smog Staff, otherwise enjoy your time writing for the webzine. :)
