Rember when R/S/E came out and everyone was like "cool 2 Pokemon out at the same time!"? I'm going to get that spirit again. The battle style is Pokemon Battle Revolution. In case you didn't know, the the style is Colluseum. Meaning you see each others team at the start of the battle and you 4 Pokemon.

I had been getting heaps of wins, but I wanted my team to be a bit better somehow. I've thought through and through about this team, it works but it needs to be better, so I'm here for help.

So let's get started with the team:
Overview: Leads:

The Core:

dpmfa395.png

dpmfsa094.png

Strategy: To constantly bombard the foe with powerful attacks, also ones that hit both opponents.

azelf.png

Azelf @ Focus Sash
Naive Nature (+Spd, -Sp.Def)
EVs: 252 Sp.Atk, 252 Spd, 6 Atk
Ability: Levitate
~Psychic
~Fire Blast
~Explosion
~Thunderbolt
A very powerful lead and causes a large amount of initial damage. Psychic for STAB, hitting BP 142.5. Along with its large Sp.Atk. Thunderbolt is mainly for hitting neutral and Water types that TRY to wall it, like Slowbro or Starmie. Fire Blast is to hit them rascal Steel types that block Azelf. Explosion is Azelfs "parting gift". When it can take no more, BOOM and everyones dead, except for my team mates who have Protect.

toxicroak.png

Toxicroak(F) @ Life Orb
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -Sp.Atk)
EVs: 252 Atk, 252 Spd, 6 HP
Ability: Anticipation
~Cross Chop
~Sucker Punch
~Rock Slide
~Protect
My other lead that accompanies Azelf most of the time. Azelf has 2 weakness': Ghost and Dark. Both fall prey to Toxicroak. if Azelf gets attacked and is near fainting, Toxicroak protects when Azelf blows up. When Azelf is not around, I have Cross Chop for STAB, Sucker Punch, if I know she's going to faint, just to get that little bit of damage onto them that could change the game. Or for finishing foes off that try to do that same thing. Rock Slide can hit 2 Pokemon at once and if one's weak to it and the other is almost down, I use it and both of them could be gone. That is why I use it over Stone Edge.

mamoswine.png

Mamoswine(M) @ Life Orb
Adamant Nature
EVs: 252 Atk, 252 Spe, 6 HP
Ability: Snow Cloak
~Ice Fang
~Earthquake
~Rock Slide
~Protect
Don't mess with this thing. It's strong, bulky and has average Speed. QuakeSlide combo means not much can wall it. For those, I have Ice Fang, except for Zong, which doesn't cause much trouble with my team. Since most people just run the Smogon sets, I added a little twist to it by making the Speed EVs go all the way to max, outspeeding all of base 80 speed group who think "I only need a certain amount of EVs to outspeed ****".

empoleon.png

Empoleon(F) @ Leftovers
Modest Nature
EVs: 252 HP, 252 Sp.Atk, 6 Def
Ability: Torrent
~Surf
~Ice Beam
~Grass Knot
~Protect
I suppose this is my form of defense. It'd bulky, strong, but slow. Surf for STAB, Ice Beam for Grass types that resist its Surf and Grass Knot because it can and it hits other Water types. Not all that much here to say.

salamence.png

Salamence(M) @ Life Orb
Mild Nature (+Sp.Atk, -Def)
EVs: 120 Atk, 252, Sp.Atk, 136 Spe
Ability: Intimidate
~Draco Meteor
~Hydro Pump
~Earthquake
~Heat Wave
When armed with really high base power moves, moves that hit both opponents AND a STAB with base power 140, it really is scary. I can't decide between Fire Blast and Heat Wave. Hydro Pump for Grounds, Fires and Rock (if I don't want to Protect and keep attacking). Earthquake blows up on all Pokemon and hits a wide variety of types. Heat Wave kills off multiple Pokemon and saves me from a really broken Pokemon called Metagross. The reason Protect isn't here is because the only move that really hurts it is Explosion.

s_gengar.png

Gengar(F) @ Focus Sash
Modest Nature (+Sp.Atk, -Atk)
EVs: 252 Sp.Atk, 252 Spd, 6 HP
Ability: Levitate
~Shadow Ball
~Focus Blast
~Thunderbolt
~Protect
Yet another Special Sweeper. Shadow Ball and Focus Blast gives perfect neutrality synergy. Thunderbolt because my team needs it for bulky Water types.

That's all for this team. Remember this is PBR and not the standard Game where it's 6v6. Also remember it's Doubles.

I've never played doubles but I'll give it a shot. I'd try Taunt > Thunderbolt on Azelf to screw over spore smeargle leads, trick roomers and the like. Also Water Absorb > Anticipation on Toxicroak. Destiny Bond/Explosion > Protect on Gengar. Ice Shard > Ice Fang on Mamo, the priority will come in useful more times than the extra power. Like I said I've never played doubles so I don't know what to change because I'm unaware of what types of pokemon are used and what strategies are used. Hope I helped

Needs work.

I took a look at your Doubles Team for PBR, and sadly, I don't think that it'll be of much good in general. It's not all that diverse in terms of battling options. Sure, you've got some nice typing combinations, but not many ways to deal with some of the more prevalent threats out there. (Trick Room and Sandstorm teams come to mind, as do teams that make good usage of Fake Out (which would be bad for your Focus Sashed Pokémon) or Endure/Pinch Berry combos.)

Basically, your strategy just seems to be all-out attacking with little-to-no thought about using support moves other than Protect. (I'll give you credit for using moves that can hit more than 1 Pokémon at a time though.) Sure, that can protect your Pokémon from their teammate's Earthquakes or Explosions, but so can the Pokémon's Typing (for example, Ghost Types are immune to Normal Type moves like Explosion) or even several Pokémon abilities (like Levitate, which makes the Pokémon immune to Ground Type attacks). Some of those abilities can even grant the Pokémon useful benefits (such as Motor Drive, which harmlessly absorbs Electric-Type attacks and even gets a speed boost out of it).

One other thing that you seem to lack are supporting moves. Battles cannot be won by brute force alone, so use a larger variety of different support moves to grant your team the advantage that they so need. One way to give your team the advantage would be to cripple the opponent's Pokémon with moves that inflict status ailments on them. Examples of these include Hypnosis (which puts an opponent to sleep) and Thunder Wave (which paralyzes the opponent, greatly decreasing their speed). Some other support moves to consider involve boosting your own Pokémon's stats with moves like Swords Dance (which greatly increases Attack) and Stockpile (which increases Defense and Special Defense). That's not all, as there are dozens of other moves to explore, like Taunt, Follow Me, Helping Hand, and Trick Room to name a few.

You're also lacking in the increased priority attacking moves department, as Toxicroak seems to be the only Pokémon on your team that has one such move (namely Sucker Punch). Because of this deficiency, your team is very vulnerable to fast opponents, whether they be Pokémon with speeds that are greater than your fastest Pokémon's speeds (such as Crobat, who can use Hypnosis), Choice Scarfed powerhouses (like Porygon-Z), or even Pokémon with strong increased priority moves (such as Scizor with Bullet Punch and Technician, or Lucario with Extremespeed).

Sorry about all of this criticism, but your team just looks... basic. Perhaps you should check out my own Doubles Team for PBR for an idea of what you would be up against in a real Double Battle against a veteran Double Battler. Feel free to incorporate some of my own strategies into your next Doubles Team.

I have never really done double battling, but your leads don't seem that effective. You might want to go with a Smeargle lead alongside Azelf. Take a look at this set I just came up with:

Smeargle@ Focus Sash
Jolly
4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
-Dark Void
-Protect
-Endeavor?
-Extreme Speed?

This is how this would play: If you see that either 0 or 1 of your opponent's Pokemon wil be able to outspeed you, then you use Dark Void because you will hang on with your sash. If you see that both outspeed you, then you should use protect as they will both probably try to attack you to prevent Dark Void from crippling them. This essentially gives Azelf a free turn to do whatever it wants. It can even explode on the first turn if the situation is that terrible and you will be left up 3-2. (Assuming this is a 4 vs 4) Protect also allows you to survive Azelf's explosion. Endeavor and Extreme Speed are pretty much just fillers, but you might be able to get a KO with it in adition to putting two Pokemon to sleep.

Please note that Dark Void would hit both of the opponent's Pokémon. That wouldn't work if the Sleep Clause is active. However, that Smeargle build does seem like a neat example of what your team could benefit from.
