Intro:
This was originally phase 1 of my original 3-part sayonara to Gen 4. However, some random twists in my sked only gave me time for 2, and
so without further adieu...Welcome to my RMT!
Registeel @ Damp Rock
Trait: Clear Body
EVs: 252 HP / 100 Atk / 100 Def / 56 SDef
Careful Nature (+SDef, -SAtk)
- Rain Dance
- Shadow Claw
- Stealth Rock
- Explosion
What we have here is the most common Rain Lead who is ranked so high when it comes to Rain Leads, Registeel and he doesn't have that Rep for nothing,
His monstrous defenses under the rain makes him indestructable if the opponent doesn't have something that can hit hard with SE damage if he has proper
EV spreads which is why he is chosen for my Rain Lead. His primary goal here is to set up Rain Dance and Stealth Rock and then proceed to whack at his
opponent with Shadow Claw, if he's in a last ditch effort to re-set up Rain Dance, He can end his life with a bang....and hopefully take his opponent with him.
Moveset/EVs:
Rain Dance is his first order of business, bringing my Swift Swimmers up, Stealth Rock is for weakening anything that's attempting to shrug off an assault
while Shadow Claw is his only attack, Explosion however if he needs to safely switch something in. The EVs are distributed around so Registeel will have more
survivabilty rate while lessening his opponent's forcing him/her to go to something that can hit through my 252 / 100 / 56 Defensive Spreads.
Kabutops (M) @ Life Orb
Trait: Swift Swim
EVs: 4 HP/ 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Swords Dance
- Stone Edge
- Earthquake
- Waterfall
Here is the 1st core Pokemon of my team as well as my Swift Swim agitator as he can easily 6-0 my opponent if he can pull off 3 Swords Dance and not miss
with Stone Edge, Primary Goal? Only one; Decimate my opponent's team. He can easily the most powerful Physical attacker in Underused, as he can 2HKO
Steelix under the Rain or not and everybody else when under the rain. Stealth Rock support from Registeel not only helps in his KOs, he also Synergizes well
with him, as Registeel's defensive spreads allow him to take a non-boosted EQ abruptly thrown at Kabutops, Did i mention he's very hard to Revenge Kill under
the rain?
Moveset/EVs:
Swords Dance is obvious here, as it makes him the most powerful Physical attacker in Underused with his 252 EV Atk and Speed Boost while the other
three are for STAB and coverage, as he will (as previously mentioned) 2HKO Non-Physical Steelix with +6 Earthquake.(Or possibly STAB Aqua Tail, but he
doesn't really have a tail....)
Ludiculo (F) @ Life Orb
Trait: Swift Swim
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Rain Dance
- Hydro Pump
- Energy Ball
- Ice Beam
What we have here is his basic Special Rain set what which ranks him so high when it comes to the league of Special Rain Sweepers, (Kinda like Registeel)
He Synergizes well with the first two because he can remove Physical tanks in the way of Kabutops as well as re-set Rain Dance up if Registeel ever needs
to go TnT. His primary goal is shared with Kabutops, eliminate as much Pokes as she possibly can, Unlike Kabutops, he's fairly easy to revenge kill with other
Swift Swimmers if he isn't careful which is why is why being Kabutops' partner is her no. 1 priority.
Moveset/EVs:
Energy Ball is the ever-so-obvious Slowbro and Milotic remover while Hydro Pump is his means of 2HKO Pokemon that don't resist water, while Ice Beam
is for Random Altaria and Swellow switches. The EVs are distributed to make sure he has the performance of a non-specs Water/Grass type Heatran under a
storm.
Mismagius (F) @ Life Orb (If you think i give a damn for the item clause then GTFO.)
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Nasty Plot
- Shadow Ball
- Thunder
- Hidden Power Fighting
An odd choice for a Rain Sweeper you say? Well...yeah, to be fair he was a random pick, but he does have his potency under the rain. I'll go through them;
Firstly, the first two of my Pokemon are weak to fighting and the Ludiculo was obviously Physically frail and Unlike the Overused Weezing, he can deal damage
as well. As previously mentioned, She can switch into a Close Combat (or Earthquake) thrown at Kabutops and Ludiculo and start to set up with Nasty Plot and
then finish off any remains from LudiTop's (or KabuCulo's) onslaught on my opponent's team. In short, she's essentially my Nasty Plot Sweeper and my backup
sweeper in case my opponent decides to pull a weather switcheroo on me.
Moveset/EVs:
Like the previous two, Her EV spreads are distributed so she has optimal use of her Speed and Special Attack. Unlike the previous two though, she can
sweep Rain or No Rain (although Thunder's measly 70 accuracy really hurts.). Her moves are obvious though, Shadow Ball for STAB, Thunder for something
to repeatedly spam under the Rain, and Hidden Power Fighting if any Rock or Steel Type gets in the way (Namely Physical Rypherior and Physical Steelix.)
Uxie @ Light Clay
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 200 HP / 100 Def / 156 SDef
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Reflect
- Light Screen
- U-turn
- Rest
Another odd choice you say? No, i'm afraid i'll have to disagree. Dual Screen support is greatly appreciated by my team especially my SwiftSwim Sweepers and
Registeel and there's no better Dual Screener in UU than Uxie. His synergy to my team is similar to that of Mismagius, as he can come in on Fighting and Ground
type attacks aimed at the Sweepers. There's not much explanation needed here so i'll just go over to the next part.
Moveset/EVs:
I just mentioned Dual Screen, while Rest is to complement his Bulky EV spreads with a recovery move while U-turn is to get something appropriate in.
Nidoking (M) @ Life Orb
Trait: Poison Point
EVs: 40 Atk / 216 SAtk / 252 Spd
Hasty Nature (+Atk, -Def)
- Superpower
- Thunder
- Ice Beam
- Toxic Spikes
Ok, now that we're done with the odd picks, let's move on. This Nidoking is my resident Mixed Attacker, as well as my all essential Toxic Spiker. His excellent
base stats give him the best possible outcome of all his sets and this set is no exception to that. Unlike my previous sweepers though, his only Rain flaw is Thunder,
everything else is an instant weakening of my opponent's switch-in's. There's not really much to explain here either..
Moveset/EVs:
He carries coverage in his 3-Attack combo, as he can fire off Superpower at Registeel attempting to ruin his sweep and bring even Physically Defensive variants
into 2HKO range for Kabutops to switch in, The FreezeThunder replaces BoltBeam when under the rain and he carries a support move in Toxic Spikes (which can
be swapped out for Taunt BTW.) as for the EVs, they're just to boost Nidoking's already good stats to optimal performance.
