A susepct team that wants a rate

Hi people. This is a suspect team that I made that is very successful. I made it after LR posted some damage calculations in the suspect thread what a modest Choice Specs Skymin could do. It was powerful and I wanted to abuse it. I also wanted to use a very underrated suspect that has great synergy with Skymin, Manaphy. These both can break stall too.

Well I had a good offensive core that could abuse each others weak points, manaphy could set up on fire attacks and priority moves while Skymin could set up on grass attacks. Still, since I was running a modest HPfire Skymin, an opposing Skymin could tear these 2 apart (Manaphy actually survives a non-boosted seed flare but than it's dead weight). Skarm fit well with these 2, it also stops every other suspect except Manaphy while setting up spikes. Anti-metagame pokemon too.

Great. Now I needed something to take a powerful electric attack, otherwise specslatios or scarfmagnezone automatically get a free kill (if they chose thunderbolt). Mamoswine seemed great. Not only did it have an immunity to electric, but it has a titanic base 130 atk, a STAB priority ice attack, and now there was a physical attacker to take advantage of all these special walls.

Right now Manaphy was my only chance at stopping a Scarftran, and if that was gone than all it had to do was hit with fire blast and I lose. A smart subtran user could even beat Manaphy and than win. I use to have gyrados to set up on the heatran but than I realized a LOstarmie would sweep my whole team (I than faced one and was up like 4-1 and lost). To stop Heatran and Starmie I put in Snorlax. It basically resists fire blast and could take a hydro pump pretty easily and hit back with a return. With all these special attacks in the metagame snorlax could pretty easily find a chance to curse up too.

Now all I needed was a lead. Metagross seemed like a good choice. Bulky, hard hitting, steel typing, powerful explosion. It could be useful in the later stages of the game.

And thats how I got the team.

Metagross @ Occa Berry
EVs:252 hp 236 atk 12 def 8 spe
Adamant
-Meteor Mash
-Stealth Rock
-Bullet Punch
-Explosion

Leadgross is a very good lead in the suspect metagame. Steels are great in suspect which is why I have given gross meteor mash. Earthquake is better for leads while meteor mash is better for later game. Skarm can handle all the leads meta can't anyways. He sets up rocks and than starts spamming meteor mash, getting the hell out of there, or exploding on a threat.

snorlax.gif

Snorlax @ Leftovers/Chesto Berry
EVs:168 hp 120 def 220 spD
Careful
-Curse
-Return
-Fire Punch/Earthquake
-Rest

Snorlax isn't as dominant as he use to be but he is still very good. I chose a curse set for a couple of reasons, a with all the special attacker he can curse up and than start hitting hard, also makes him a sturdier tank, and if I ran a normal resttalk set I would be using a worse blissey with a bit more offense. Return over body slam because after a few curses the paralysis won't even make a difference, all the power increase is signifigant and I never once wished I had body slam. I haven't tested Earthquake because I keep forgetting to change it, fire punch hits skarm, bronzong, and scizor but against ttar and regular steels I wish I had earthquake. Lum and leftovers both have there benefits and there are times I wish I had one over the other. Snorlax also switches in to just basically any special attack, even a specsmeteor barely does 50% to him.

mamoswine.png

Mamoswine @ Life Orb
EVs: 252 atk 4 def 252 spe
Adamant
-Ice Shard
-Earthquake
-Stone edge
-Ice Fang

Mamoswine is here to take electric attacks. Sure snorlax can take most t-bolts but everytime I have to rest I am at risk. Also when he comes in on a choice locked electric attack than unless my opponent has a skarm or bronzong they will likey take a LOearthquake or a super effective LO ice attack or in gyrados's case a stone edge (usually have to get it on the switch though). Mamoswine can beat every suspect except manaphy 1 vs 1 most of the time which is a great plus.

skarmory.png

Skarmory @ Shed Shell
EVs: 252 hp 4 def 252 spD
Careful
-Roost
-Spikes
-Whirlwind
-Brave Bird

Skarm is here to counter all of the suspects bar manaphy, and with these Special Defense EVs and nature he can take even a tail glow surf and than whirlwind it away. Most importantly though skarm stops Skymin, especially the subseed set which he can just set up spikes, roost, than whirlwind. Shed Shell over leftovers because of magnezone. Skarm may seem like it slows down the offense but once the spikes are up it can keep the offense up pretty well by just whirlwinding, often getting a switch and a whirlwind to get even more damage.

manaphy.jpg

Manaphy @ Leftovers
EVs:252 hp 252spA 4 spe
Modest
-Tail Glow
-Substitute
-Surf
-Ice Beam

Easily the most used manaphy set and for a reason. Sub allows manaphy to take status and weaker attacks and than tail glow up. 252 hp evs gives 101 subs so blissey can't break it with seismic toss (and with lati@s and garchomp you can forget about thunderbolt) than get +6. Surf and Ice beam get pretty good coverage excluding waters and with tail glow even resisted attacks hurt. 404 hp also makes manaphy extremely bulky, a garchomp unboosted outrage only does about 50% and he can survive a specsmeteor too. Manaphy also uses priority moves such as CBbullet punch from Scizor and ice shard from Mamo to set up. A CB bullet punch fails to break the substitute.

Shaymin-S.png

Shaymin-S @ Choice Specs
EVs: 4 def 252 spA 252 spe
Modest
-Seed Flare
-Air Slash
-HP[fire]
-Earth Power

The inspiration for the team. Once shaymin-S gets in something will die. Even blissey (148 hp/0spD) is 2hkod by seed flare after the drop and with spikes even special defensive variants are 2hkod. Bronzong is also 2hkod after the special defense drop too. Spamming seed flare works with this thing. With specs equipped Skymin does not need the usual 2-3 flinches for air slash to KO, it usually needs one. HPfire allows Skymin to beat special defensive skarm who is 2hkod and earth power gives great coverage and a strong neutral attack but is only to be used once fliers levitators are gone (pretty easy by spamming seed flare). Also Skymin can survive a CB Scizor bullet Punch after SR if needed and than deal about 63% with air slash. Not sure if I should make it timid though because there is spikes to get certain KOs that were not accounted for in LR's calculations, it wouldn't be to tie other HPfire skymin but to outspeed base 120s and scarfzone. Modest is still pretty fast at like 352 though.
