Let's go in-depth!
Adamant Nature @ Occa Berry
Clear Body
Ev's: 252 HP/ 236 Atk/ 12 Def/ 8 Spe
Moveset-
~Meteor Mash
~Earthquake
~Bullet Punch
~Stealth Rock
Role: Metagross is my classic dependable lead and does a damn good job at that. He will-without a doubt- guarantee me a SR set up and provides me with a dependable member early in the game and even late game if he's forced to switch. Meteor Mash and Bullet Punch can 2HKO alot of popular leads and if granted an attack boost from meteor mash he becomes extremely deadly. Earthquake + Occa Berry allow me to beat some of the previously forfeit leads( i'm looking at you infernape and heatran) and is just a credibly powerful attack in general. I opted for the earthquake option over explosion as explosion can generally lead me in a bad position if played wrong (protect or an unfortunate-unexpected switch) and earthquake allows him to become the lead I want given his ability to best just about every other lead out there.
Teambuilding process: The ultimate reason for selecting metagross is for his reliability. SR is heavily needed for some of the important OHKO-2HKO's on the team and he starts the game off right sometimes with KO's or just allowing other members of my team to come in and take the spotlight. His relative bulk makes taking hits all that easier and can give him the ability to turn the tables on the opponent.
Tyranitar @ Leftovers
Modest Nature
Sand Stream
Ev's: 252 HP/ 180 Sp.Atk/ 76 Sp.Def
Moveset-
~Substitute
~Icebeam
~Darkpulse
~Flamethrower
Role: This particular tyranitar provides me with extreme bulk when taking on Sp.Atkers and gives me a bit of shockfactor when taking on some of his more popular counters-gengar and skarmory. Tyranitar has an easy time forcing a switch naturally which almost always allows him to setup a substitute. From there he can take on gengar with dark pulse, skarmory with flamethrower, and anything else that attempts to wall him with icebeam-bar swampert who takes the most damage from dark pulse. To demonstrate his bulk-latias' surf(with specs) becomes a 2-3KO while he can immediately hurt it back with dark pulse.
Teambuilding process: This original slot was occupied by blissey for her ability to sponge up special hits like a champ, but ultimately she left a slot open for teams to come in and set up on me was no good and so to counter this I did some research and came accross this TTar who combined with sandstream and max HP has an immense ability to soak up special hits with his Sp.Def and 101 HP subsitutes but also has the ability to dish out damage of his own and crack walls wide open.
Gliscor @ Leftovers
Jolly Nature
Sand Veil
Ev's: 252 HP/ 40 Def/ 216 Spe
Moveset-
~Earthquake
~Roost
~U-turn
~Taunt
Role: Probably one of the single-best members of a team for cracking stall. He has an incredible advantage with roost + sand veil when coupled with my TTar, as well as soaking up physical hits aimed at TTar that could be potentially damage. He's immune to basically all forms of entry hazards, has access to taunt to stop phazing and BP chains, an incredibly powerfal STAB EQ, and U-turn to move in and out of teams pokemon while hitting them hard, and avoiding Sp.Atk's that could hinder his ability. He provides me with two important elements-the ability to roost stall past potentially dangerous life orb sweepers, and showing Stall who's boss which my team could have immense trouble with.
Teambuilding process: I ran accross this particular Gliscor on the DPP forums and after using him in a few battles found out how extremely useful he can be. In many ways he can single-handedly take care of stall teams, and with U-turn+ Stab EQ has potential to deal damage without losing effectiveness in any way, combined with sand veil to help frustrate teams on the misses he can cause.
Heatran @ Leftovers
Timid Nature
Flash Fire
Ev's: 4 HP/ 252 Spe/ 252 Sp.Atk
Moveset-
~Substitute
~Toxic
~Fire Blast
~Earthpower
Role: While this beast has seen a relative increase in usage he finds a place on my team as an absolute beast. He brings a nifty 12 resistances, one being ice which is littering the OU tier lately and is a big threat to gliscor. Also, with gliscor and TTar on my team I realized that they would be a huge target for will-o-wisps and fire blasts on my weak Sp.Def gliscor. With this in mind he became an easy choice for my team and this particular set with the ability to ease any prediction that comes with using scarftran. It almost always gets a sub up and after that it has a ton of choices, toxic for nasty bulky waters, and almost everything that resists toxic takes a ton of damage from fire blast + earthpower, making him an immense threat to many teams.
Teambuilding process: As I mentioned before his immunity to ice which would be threatining gliscor and his ability to soak up fire attacks is the main reason he made his way onto this team. This, alongside a toxic immunity, makes heatran an essential member to the teams core.
Kingdra @ Lum Orb
Adamant Nature
Swift Swim
Ev's: 4 HP/ 252 Atk/ 252 Spe
Moveset-
~Dragon Dance
~Waterfall
~Outrage
~Yawn
Role: Part of my duo of hard hitting attackers, this kingdra pairs up very neatly with heatran with his ability to come in on any predicted water/ice attack and either force a switch with yawn or start throwing up Dragon Dances. Max Speed allows him to outrun base 130 speed pokemon after a dragon dance and max atk + adamant makes him an extremely deadly force after a DD. Waterfall with his boosted speed can take extreme advantage of the flinch rate and when it comes down to it he can tear through the opposition with outrage. Lum Berry is there to prevent the confusion from outrage from stopping his sweep- or any status in general especially that of toxic spikes.
Teambuilding process: Kingdra was carefully selected to pair up with heatran because it absorbed water attacks with ease and from there can become one extensively deadly force with DD + dual stab which is only resisted by one pokemon in the game-empoleon.
Celebi @ Choice Scarf
Timid Nature
Natural Cure
Ev's: 100 HP/ 156 Spe/ 252 Sp.Atk
Moveset-
~Leaf Storm
~HP Fire
~Earth Power
~U-turn/Trick
Role: Celebi finishes off the last part of my attacking duo with this extremely abnormal set. The choice scarf allows her to reach 451 Speed, which blazes past many of the other scarf users that don't pass 100 base speed. The real surprise from this celebi is the attacking force it brings from a 210 Base power leaf storm-when factoring in STAB- HP fire for scizor and other steels or anything that takes SE damage from it, and earthpower for those mons named heatran. I ususally run U-turn in the last slot for a quick finishing move on weakened pokemon and the ability to switch without being completely restricted, but Trick has extreme uses with being able to cripple things trying to set-up or walls in general.
Teambuilding process: Coupled with heatran celebi is a very capable member of the team. They thrive off of each other's weaknesses and resistances and he also brings the essential resistance to electric attacks aimed at Kingdra which he doesn't take too kindly to. The real niche of scarfcelebi is revenge killing. Hardly anything will take a low amount of damage from STAB max Leafstorm and the things that do will have to deal with the rest of her attacks and so it makes an awesome revenge killer.
Normally I would include a comprehensive threat list but as I feel this team is still relatively incomplete and needs room for improvement i'll leave it at this and update it down the road if possible.
