A Team of Disaster, 17% Win Percentage (Ubers RMT)

Another Ubers RMT

Heh, just joking, I dont keep track of my win percentage, i have no clue what it is.
But no mistake about it, this team does need alot of help, as it doesnt really have as much Synergy or togetherness as my last RMT, which you can find at http://www.smogon.com/forums/showthread.php?t=46898 if you're still interesting in helping that tragedy

I wont be on for some time because i have a massive History Essay due, and the SATs are coming up for me next month, so theres always that looming over my head. Anyways, whilst doing some supposed research over the French Revolution, i came up with a random conction of a team, and I was wondering if you top pros/ team raters here can help me out

On to the Team!!
deoxyse.png
Linden (Deoxys-E) @ Focus Sash
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 HP/4 Atk/252 Spd/
Jolly nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Extremespeed
- Spikes
- Stealth Rock
- Taunt
It may not hit as hard as DeoxysA, but it it sure is faster and can Taunt them. DeoxysA ExtremeSpeed is a 3HKO at best, while my own Extremespeed is a 2HKO. Almost standard Spiker Deoxys S, although against opposing DeoxysA i almost find myself necessary to finish them off with ExtremeSpeed first, then since Im faster than all Scarfers can pull off a SR at best, very rarely do i get the Chance to lay down Spikes, and If the opponent brings in Rayquaza to revenge kill, well then SR is hard to set up as well, perhaps switch out and come back in as death fodder. As a side note, Darkrai leads are a huge pain in the neck, so please offer your thoughts.

kyogre.png
Atlantic (Kyogre) @ Choice Specs
Ability: Drizzle
EVs: 240 HP/28 Spd/240 SAtk OR 240 HP/84 Spd/184 SAtk
Modest nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Ice Beam
- Surf
- Thunder
- Water Spout
Wall Destroyer, straight up 187s Lugia and Blissey is 2HKO by Water Spout with Kyogre at full health, and if Spikes + SR is down, then Surf could potentially 2HKO?
Im having some trouble on deciding on the EV spread, 240 HP, 28 Speed and 240 Special Attack is the semi standard spread that allows for 223 speed to outrun most Dialga and Adamant Max Speed Tyranitar, however i may opt for more speed in exchange for slightly less power to outrun all Jirachi that dont run speed, as 84 Speed EVs generates 237 speed, one point above neutral minimum speed Jirachi, although Im not sure whether the decrease in SpAtk EVs cause any 2HKOs to be moved into 3HKO range, or OHKO into 2HKO
---
palkia.png
Queens (Palkia) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 Spd/252 SAtk/6 SpDef
Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk) OR Naive (+Spd, -SpDef) for Outrage, although that dents my ability to switch into Kyogre Surfs
- Draco Meteor
- Surf
- Thunder
- Outrage/ Spacial Rend
My main revenge killer, and while Scarf Dialga may seem to be better in terms of resistances, Palkia can outspeed Jolly Rayquaza after 1 Dragon Dance and OHKO with Spacial Rend. Cant stand up to Swords Dance Rayquaza though, matter of fact, nothing on my team can if it gets a Swords Dance on a switch or something. On a Side note, Palkia Surfs under Kyogre's rain is no joke, about as powerful as Draco Meteor and decimates Mewtwo, Darkrai, and and the steel types

I Cant decide on the last move slot, as Spacial Rend allows more consistency, and of course the ability to switch out, but Outrage gives me enough power to make sure Latios and Latias never sweep me if they get some Calm Minds, but, of course I'tll be revenged killed by the likes of Dialga who can usually take an Outrage, and destroy me. So some advice here would be nice
---
groudon.png
Francis Lewis (Groudon) @ Life Orb
Ability: Drought
EVs: 252 Atk/104 Def/152 Spd
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Earthquake
- Rock Polish
- Stone Edge
- Dragon Claw

THE premier offensive powerhouse of Ubers, after a Rock Polish it outspeeds DeoxysE, so you better have something else up your sleave like the extinct Scarf Mewtwo with Grass Knot or some shit, or this is going to hurt alot. Lugia, who normally slaps around SD Groudon can no longer do so because after a Rock Polish, I'll be faster which means it can no longer Roost off Stone Edges, which will do 50 Percent to 252 HP/252 Def Bold Lugia, a definite 2HKO with SR up, even if it Reflects in between Edges.(Although if it does get a reflect up, i could easily be revenged by Kyogre or Mewtwo)

104 Def to help it take Scizor Bullet Punches and Uturns or watever
---
mewtwo.png
Merrick (Mewtwo) @ Life Orb
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 4 HP/252 Spd/ 252Atk OR 52 Def/232 Spd/224 SAtk OR 16 Atk/24 Def/232 Spd/236 SpAtk
Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk) OR Naive (+Spd, -SpDef) for Self Destruct
- Aura Sphere
- Fire Blast
- Grass Knot
- Ice Beam/ Self Destruct

Another trouble Pokemon, for the other team! No seriously another indecisive EV Spread. The first one allows for maximum firepower and Speed, why wouldnt i go max Speed? On the other hand, the second EV spread gives Adamant Max Attack Groudon only a 8 percent chance to OHKO with Stealth Rock(it can never OHKO without Rocks) so I can revenge kill with Grass Knot most of the time, still not playing it safe enough for a 0 percent chance to OHKO, but I cant afford to sacrifice any more Speed or Special Attack, 389 Speed is necessary to outrun all Skymin and by consequence all Darkrai

As for the last move slot, (Mewtwo with No Ice Beam!?!?!!? OMG you must be crazy, you stupid noob). Think about it, Rayquaza will never switch into Mewtwo because it fears Ice Beam, and if it does find itself against Mewtwo, it will always ExtremeSpeed unless it has a Dragon Dance, at which point Im screwed anyway. If I'm anywhere in the 60% range or lower, an Extremespeed followed by an attack of my own will probably mean my doom. Anyways, Self Destruct is for some more protection against CM Latias and Kyogre, while it leaves me defenseless against Rayquaza and Rayquaza only, as Grass Knot hits about the same as Ice Beam on Palkia, Aura Sphere slams Dialga, and against Latios/Latias, well i cant afford to trade Ice Beam for Dragon Pulse, whilst i have around the same SpAtk as a Timid Soul Dew Latios, they have alot more SpDef, so I would have to Self Destruct.

To summarize, Mewtwo is pretty much my Bailout Pokemon, no matter how many Sword Dances Groudon has, it will always fall to Grass Knot, and if i have 234 Atk(third EV spread, 16 Atk EVs Timid, unless i run Naive), the Bulkiest Kyogre or Latias will fall to Self Destruct, which is the 404 HP Kyogre/364 HP Latias, just in case they pull too many Calm Minds. It's not bad as a sweeper either because the attacks cover almost everyone in Ubers for super effective damage, except of course, Rayquaza if i dont pack Ice Beam
---
rayquaza.png
Farmers (Rayquaza) @ Life Orb
Ability: Air Lock
EVs: 252 Atk/252 Spd/4 SDef
Jolly nature (+Spd, -SAtk) OR Naive (+Spd, -SDef) for Overheat
- Extremespeed
- Outrage
- Earthquake/ OverHeat
- Dragon Dance
One of the most consistent Pokemon throughtout the constant shifting of the Ubers Metagame, DD Rayquaza has never let me down. SD Rayquaza has me stuck on using ExtremeSpeed all the time, so i prefer this. Its guarunteed to take down at least one pokemon unless the opponent plays extremely safe/good, because Scarf Palkia is never going to switch in directly because it fears Outrage. Once im in Outrage, Im vulnerable to Scizor/Metagross, but an +1 Outrage plus a +1 ExtremeSpeed, and with SR up, most of the time Scizor is dead.
Also shuts down Swift Swimmers, switches into Resting Manaphy, the list goes on

On a side note, Im trying to decide whether I should put EQ or Overheat.
EQ stomps on Scarf Dialga expecting SDRay, or all Dialga really, but in reality, it only has 20 BP more than Outrage on Dialga. Overheat is a one time use against Bronzong, Scizor, Metagross and Forresstress, and thanks to Rayquaza's Air Lock, OverHeat is as powerful or weak as its ever going to be.

The Uber Threat List
Wobbuffet:….
Mewtwo: Kyogre could usually take it, if its it good health, otherwise Rayquaza XSpeed/ Palkia Surf/Draco Meteor
Mew: Baton Passing Mew with Rock Polish cannot be stopped, so lets try not to use it people…
Groudon: Kyogre can take on RP variants if its near full health, the SD one is slower than TU-Faint's grandmother(lol just playing), and could be revenged easily with Mewtwo Grass Knot
Kyogre: Mewtwo Grass Knots, Groudon weakens Surf, Palkia Rends/Thunders
Rayquaza: SDRay is a huge problem, Palkia can take DDray
DeoxysA: Most lead versions are Espeeded by my own Deoxys, if it doesn’t win the speed tie, then revenge kill with Palkia or Rayquaza
DeoxysD: Kyogre Surf, my team doesnt really fear toxic as most members expect to be dead in a few turns
Ho-oh: SR halves its HP, Kyogre can survive most assaults to KO with Surf
Lugia: Kyogre Surf/Water Spout
Celebi: Annoying, but can be beaten easily with Patience
Jirachi: Kyogre Surfs, Palkia Surfs, Rayquaza Earthquakes, Mewtwo Fire Blasts
Dialga: Mewtwo Revenge Kills with Aura Sphere, Palkia outspeeds all Dialga, Groudon smashes BU Dialga
Palkia: A big problem, perhaps win Speed tie with my own Palkia,
Lati@s: Dunno why it does the email thing, heeh, but Palkia Outrage, Rend, Meteor, Rayquaza XSpeed, Mewtwo Ice Beam/Self Destruct, huge threats, could potentially take down half my team
Darkrai: I'll let whatever in right now take the sleep, let it Nasty Plot or whatever and then i either wake up or i die, then revenge kill with Mewtwo, Palkia or Rayquaza XSpeed. Kyogre can survive a Plotted Dark Pulse, although it gets annoying when it flinches
Giratina Land Form: Kyogre doesnt fear WoW, and Ice Beams, Palkia Draco Meteors, Rayquaza will always outspeed and Outrage if i must
Giratina Origin Form: More threatening than the orginal(heh) Giratina, but takes hits worse, again, same as before, Kyogre Ice Beam, Palkia/Rayquaza
Blissey: Kyogre 2HKO with Water Spout, Palkia Outrage(maybe), Mewtwo Self Destruct, Groudon, last resort Rayquaza
Metagross: Kyogre can take Meteor Mashes and OHKO with Surf, Palkia, Groudon, Mewtwo Aura Sphere/Fire Blast
Tyranitar: Kyogre Surf, Groudon EQ, Mewtwo Aura Sphere, Rayquaza EQ
Scizor: Kyogre resists Bullet Punch, is faster and KO with Surf, Groudon flicks Scizor with EQ, Mewtwo Fire Blast
Skarmory: Mewtwo Fire Blast, Kyogre Surf, Palkia Surf
Forresstress: See Skarmory
Bronzong: See Skarmory
Heracross: Kyogre Surf, Palkia outspeeds, Surf/Meteor, Mewtwo Fire Blasts
Garchomp: Another huge threat, Mewtwo and Palkia can revenge Banded, Scarf literally smashes my team in two, but doesnt hit Groudon that hard so if i can trap it in Outrage, Groudon Dragon Claws it
Manaphy: Kyogre Thunder, Palkia Thunder, or a dirty trick I like to play, switch to Rayquaza as it Rests, free Dragon Dance, lol
Dugtrio: Like Wobbuffet, uncounterable, can only be revenged, esp if I get caught on Kyogre or Palkia Thunder, Mewtwo outspeeds all but Scarfers, but then again, i could be Sucker Punched
Weavile: Mewtwo outspeeds, Palkia also outspeeds, Kyogre can take anything Weavile throws at it and OHKO with Surf
Shedinja: Fire Blast Mewtwo, Groudon Stone Edge, but hopefully SR or spikes are up before they get this thing in, its so fuckin annoying, when it comes in on my Rayquaza with 3 Dragon Dances
Heatran: Kyogre, Palkia, Surf it to the center of the Earth, Mewtwo Aura Sphere, Groudon helps it but EQs it to the grave, Rayquaza EQ
So, In conclusion, the biggest threats to my team are
1. Swords Dance Rayquaza
2. Latios/Latias
3. Rock Polish Groudon
4. Scarf Dialga
5. Skarm/Zong/Forry
6. Shedinja

Props to anyone and everyone that has helped me in the past, including:

Im sure I forgot some people, so I'll add them as i start to remember

I really think a steel type will help this team enormously. You have nothing to take dragon attacks which are very common in Ubers. Metagross or something.

Also, by seeing your threat list I think you could make good use of ScarfDialga. It helps immensly with SD Ray and it can revenge the Lati twins if you make it physsically oriented. It can also work as a sleep absorber by switching it into Darkrai - provided you can reserve a moveslot for sleeptalk that is.

i had a scarf dialga, but then i realized I had 3 Choicers on the team, allowing for some very easy switches for the opposition

i replaced Scarf Dialga with Mewtwo who is alot more versatile, and while it lacks STAB, its already high speed allows me to slap on a Life Orb, and its attacks hit more things for SE damage

Also, the addition of a steel type, while it may be helpful to the team, could be hard to find a replacement for, and Dialga doesnt really count because it takes neutral damage from both Ice and Dragon
the addition of Jirachi slows my team down considerably, and as is the problem with all non offensive pokemon, inviting for Specs Kyogre/ some stat up Pokemon to come in

Scizor could work, i dont really see it fitting in or providing any real use to me
and Metagross would likely result in the 3 Choice items thing again, which is what I was trying to avoid

and Scarf Palkia is necesary to combat Kyogre/DD Ray, and CB Metagross/Scizor isnt really going to stand in the way of SD Ray

also, perhaps you guys have more experience than me, but how many Giratina-O do you see around, what set do they run and how do you stop it?

Also, still looking for an reliable SDRay stopper

For Darkrai leads, you can put superpower somewhere (probably over extreme speed) for non-scarfed ones. THe scarf ones are going to get that sleep down though. No way around it. I'd probably just like Deoxys take the sleep since he's supposed to die anyway.

As for SD quaza, I think the only thing you can hope for is that your opponent thinks that your kyogre is scarfed or something and kyogre is healthy enough to live the extreme speed and take the ice beam. Or if the rayquaza doesn't run too much speed (unlikely) and extreme speeds your groudon instead of a dragon claw or something. And even then, you're groudon might not kill without that STAB.

The only revenge killer I can think of that can really take on both kinds of quazas is Scarf Chomp. But giving up something like Palkia would hurt you a lot. I can't really see much you can do unless you put lugia somewhere on there and even he can't take the DD versions, you'd have to sacrifice something.

As for Giratina-O, I usually see them run CM with Dragon Pulse and Shadow Ball and something else, or the Shadow Force ones. Both kinds are a total joke to any steel types. Spacial Rend, Ice Beam, and Dragon Claw will all kick his ass hard, he's actually more fragile than he seems.

wouldnt Tina-O pack some ground move or fire move for steels?

no more Lugia, he invites Specs Kyogre too much, but uh what do you mean by sacrafice something

like something on my team now takes the Extremespeed so that my actual switch in can kill it?
well who do you see as an actual switch in?

or do you mean axe someone from the team altogether for a Rayquaza counter, because theres no revenging SD Ray...

EDIT: theres no way he'll be living Rayquaza LO Outrage, i dont think, but what about LO Mewtwo Ice Beam, or Palkia Draco Meteor/Rend from 399 SpAtk, or SpecsKyogre Ice Beam?

name: Special Sweeper
move 1: Calm Mind
move 2: Dragon Pulse
move 3: Thunder / Shadow Ball / Aura Sphere
move 4: Substitute / Aura Sphere

name: Physical Attacker
move 1: Substitute
move 2: Outrage
move 3: Earthquake
move 4: Shadow Force / Shadow Claw
item: Platinum Orb

These are the two most common giratina's. Most of your team can use their speed to pound it with super effective attacks.

What I mean by sacrifice is you let something die so you can switch Kyogre in, and, if he has enough health, he might be able to survive a LO extreme speed and pull off the ice beam for the kill. But he will no doubt die to an outrage or d-claw if quaza does that instead. Neither Mewtwo nor Palkia can take the extreme speed though, and Groudon probably can't take the outrage.

Basically as of now, your team is screwed. I could only say do something like put SD chomp on your team over Groudon. He can most definitely take the extreme speed if he is healthy, and outspeed rayquaza if it doesn't use extreme speed, and use d-claw for a 1hko after SR. And SD chomp is definitely a pretty strong pokemon, with STAB outrage and earthquake, and then stone edge for some other stuff.
Lugia also has difficulty walling it since Lugia is rarely given the 192 +speed nature required to outspeed it. I guess a w/o speed boosting move, he's more vulnerable to scarfers, but late game, when hopefully revengers are dead, he can certainly pull off a fine sweep. Maybe add a yache berry or haban berry or something. Probably haban berry because Chomp can actually survive an ice beam from lugia.

just wanna note that this guy cheated on the ladder and i wont be rating his team because of it. that's really shitty dude.

Lugia and defensive Groudon can take an attack from Ray and KO him back. Beware though as a little residual damage might help Rayguaza kill them. If it doesn't have a fire attack then Skarmory can wall him.

These are the obvious switch ins to Rayquaza but your team seems that relies on pure offense, so one of these might break your tempo.

If you want to maintain the offensive nature of your team then ScarfDialga is the best thing you've got against SD Ray. It's understandable why you chose not to use 3 choice users because it's generally bad, but Dialga was probably the most important choiced pokemon on your team.

PS: This may sound like a joke but Gengar is one of the best checks against Ray. Choice Scarf with HP Ice in particular. It is capable of coming in and revenge kill both SD and DD Ray.

PS2: Just forget what I said about Gengar and never use it in Ubers. Too many trappers :P

Gorm don't be mean :(

As for Giratina-O, I usually see them run CM with Dragon Pulse and Shadow Ball and something else, or the Shadow Force ones. Both kinds are a total joke to any steel types. Spacial Rend, Ice Beam, and Dragon Claw will all kick his ass hard, he's actually more fragile than he seems.
Discounting the physical sweeper, what Steel can come in and wall the Special Attacker?
also, perhaps you guys have more experience than me, but how many Giratina-O do you see around, what set do they run and how do you stop it?
Very few. Stopping it isn't too hard but it's extremely hard to not get one member killed. In your team, you've got to deal with Giratina-O coming in after Kyogre kills (if it doesn't use Ice Beam), and chopping your team members one by one. If your Mewtwo doesn't have Ice Beam consider it a free Gira switch in.

just wanna note that this guy cheated on the ladder and i wont be rating his team because of it. that's really shitty dude.

i third this. He shouldn't be where he is... he fixed his team to beat mines and then started using like 5 accounts to take advantage of the inactivity in the ubers ladder. HE CHEATED.

dont know what you guys are talking about...
but anyways, Mewtwo can be configured to take a LO Rock Polish Groudon EQ, that does 86 Max, and SDRay Xspeed is around the same

i think thats 230 Def, not sure, but thats quite a few EVs to put into Def, because

1. I dont go max speed, meaning opposing Mewtwo will always beat me
2. Opposing Skymin will also beat me
3. Im not sure how big of a drop from 407 spatk to 400-403 spatk is, does it move me out of ohko/2hko KO range of anything, perhaps Dialga with Aura Sphere?

and also, the idea is to not let Rayquaza get that SD off, and the only way i see it getting it off is if it comes in on Kyogre Thunder, Rayquaza is 2HKO by Surf even with no rain, but if it switches in on another team members dead, the SD with Kyogre Surfing it once, it can then ExtremeSpeed Me or Earthquake me, i doubt itll Outrage, perhaps it might Dragon Claw, would any of those attacks OHKO me after a SD?

Alright guys we know he cheated on uber ladder but please don't rub it in his face. We're here to help, not shoo him away from his own RMT.

Speaking of helping I can't think of any fixes atm without doing a big change into your team. Sorry antonio, but I'm not the kind of guy who can fix stuff quickly, at least not without changing your team quite a bit.

Just max out Speed on Mewtwo.

EDIT:
1) good one antonio
2) When I mean big change I mean something like Jirachi > Groudon, Defensive Mewtwo > your Mewtwo and Dialga over Rayquaza or something along the lines of that. I don't think you'll like it though, but it does cover pretty much everything bar the Spikers.
3) Unless you're going defensive I really wouldn't rely on using Mewtwo to take on Ray at all.

thanks Jibaku, dont know whose this Antonio character you speak of...

anyways, what kind of big change are you talking about? Replacing something with something else?

Im not going to go with your usual team ideas of going 80 miles under the speed limit, lol

no defensive walls, but uh, Mewtwo max speed isnt a bad idea, however the few extra Def EVs allow it to have some chance of survival against Groudon EQs and Rayquaza Xspeeds

We're here to help, not shoo him away from his own RMT.

actually i see no reason to help anyone who abuses stuff our site puts out for free. abusing the shoddy ladder after the HUGE amount of great work doug/others have put into it is a fucking insult and completely tactless. I see no reason to look beyond that.

come on now gormenghast, dont be hard at it
im sure my team can use the advice of someone of your expertise, and i already apologized to Doug, if you would kindly remind him to check his PMs...

lol faint you have no idea wats going on do you

why dont you just believe what you want to believe and just rate the team for the sake of helping out

Wow Flyingsolo, that's a dick move.

Win by your own means. If you truly want to be high on the ladder, then get better. Also changing a team to solely beat one other guy is just low dude.

lol Gen Empoleon
im not going to get into any arguements here, but im just going to say that

the ONLY change I've made to my team since this team's creation was the booting of Scarf Dialga for Mewtwo because I needed versatilty.

i have NEVER changed my team because i kept on running into someone on the ladder because it does happen alot, and once you get some knowledge of each other's teams, it follows the same routine at the beginning almost everytime, then the results are pretty much 50/50
or something close, but basically what im trying to say is that it plays out almost the same everytime,

I mean, you remember facing my team, does this team look so different to you except for Mewtwo for Scarf Dialga, and better yet, does it look so different from my last RMT, whose link is posted somewhere near the first few lines?

What's going on here? This is an RMT, not a discussion of whether someone cheated or not. Keep your truths/beliefs out of this discussion and just rate the team. Disagree with me if you'd like.

lol it seems like you can delete posts now...

anyways, a new day bump because i didnt get any real help, just a whole lot of flame ups

again, opinions on the various EVs spreads i posted, especially in bold as well as move choices competing for a single moveslot would be appreciated
