A Team of Friends

This team isn't designed to be an ultimate killer in the metagame or anything as such (hence the lack of many OU pokemon commonly seen such as gyarados, lucario, blissey, Ttar etc not to say there arent any...) and is made to be a fun team with unusually seen pokemon that make for a fun pokemon battle.

Excalibur

Dragonite@LifeOrb
Ability: Inner Focus
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 SpA / 4 Spe
Quiet Nature [+SpA -Spe]
= Fire Blast
= Draco Meteor
= Earthquake
= Extreme Speed

Standard Somgon Anti-lead set. Couldn't decide on a lead so I decided to just defeat everyone elses as efficiently as possible. Draco Meteor does ridiculous damage to anything not resisting it while not hindering the ability to take out most steels with Earthquake. Extreme speed if for things faster than me or even as a secondary revenge kill after Dugtrio is down (and the opponent doesn’t expect me having it…).

Blastoise@Leftovers
Ability: Torrent
EVs:
252 HP / 252 SpDef / 6 SpA
Calm Nature [+SpDef -Atk]
= Mirror Coat
= Yawn
= Rapid Spin
= Surf

Blastoise has always been a favourite of mine and now it's no different. Here to take an Tbolt or Grass knot, laugh and send it straight back. Yawn is to get rid of threats and Phaze while Rapid spin stops hazards annoying my team. Surf so he can actually hurt things if need be (aka, it's super effective). EV spread may need changing a bit, but that's what I need help for.

Dino

Meganium@Light Clay
Ability: Overgrow
EVs: 252 Def / 252 Hp / 6 SpDef
Bold Nature [+Def -Atk]
= Leech Seed
= Reflect
= Light Screen
= Aromatherapy

Pure support plant-a-saurus. Clay enhanced screens to make sure things survive longer. Leech seed to drain health and possibly even force a switch to build up a little stealth rock damage and give me the change to switch or set up another big screen. Aromatherapy is there to cure annoying status effects that would otherwise make the victim useless. I chose Meganium because it’s a little different and the pure grass gives a nice resistance to earthquake (something Jirachi appreciates after Dragonite is gone to soak them up).

Dancer

Jynx@Leftovers
Ability: Forewarn
EVs: 252 Spe / 252 SpAtck / 6 Hp
Modest Nature [+SpAtck -Atk]
= Lovely Kiss
= Substitute
= Nasty Plot (HGSS move) / Calm Mind
= Ice Beam

Simple "4 S's" Sweeper. Sleep, Sub, Stat, Sweep. Great if it comes in after Meganium as the screens will most likely help it's fragility. I was considering a perish trapper at first to add to the gimmicky nature of the team but this is really where the main special muscle comes in. Ice beam is for maximum coverage and to destroy grasses and dragons (for Blastoise and Dragonite respectively). It also rids the flying types that may prevent Dugtrio from shining too with his Arena trap.

Gangsta D
Spr_4h_051.png

Dugtrio@Choice Band
Ability: Arena Trap
EVs: 216 Spe / 40 HP / 252 Atk
Adamant Nature [+Atk -SpAtk]
= Earthquake
= Stone Edge
= Sucker Punch
= Aerial Ace

Revengekiller all the way. If something Dies, this guy comes in to clean up (as long as it's not a flying type or levitating). Aerial Ace over Pursuit as It shouldn't be coming in on those that it doesn't trap (and not to mention my prediction can be real bad sometimes…). This guy is really to give the team a major physical threat and bring in the much needed and ubiquitous Earthquake onto the team to deal with things like Metagross (who can destroy Jynx with bullet punch get some good hits on everything else).

Bean Star

PinRS385.png

Jirachi@Leftovers
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 252 Spe / 176 Atk / 80 Hp
= Stealth rock
= Thunder Wave
= Iron Head
= U-Turn

More support in the form of the essential stealth rock and paralysis that this team needs to net extra KO's with it's mid-speed sweepers. Full Speed EV's to get the one up on things usually faster and make sure the first two set moves are a success, after that flinching and paralysis can cause annoyance with U-turn to as an escape route when necessary. This can also be a fun lead if Ineed to surprise a regular opponent too!

So that's my team, just a few pokemon I particularly like that hopefully work together.

I like the idea of trying to use UU Pokemon in OU. With that said, the UU Pokemon on your team all seem to be outclassed. Blastoise's lack of Defense EVs make him an easy target for physical attackers that aren't weak to Water, a problem that is compounded greatly after you use the first time you use Mirror Coat. If you invest EVs in Defense, you will have a much harder time surviving super effective special attacks. Put simply, there are better users of Mirror Coat if you're playing in OU. Suicune has better Defense, access to Mirror Coat, and can catch opponents that expect the Calm Mind set by surprise. Tentacruel does have worse Defense and an Earthquake weakness, but can remove Toxic Spikes without using Rapid Spin, and can still use Rapid Spin for Stealth Rock or Spikes. It can also lay down Toxic Spikes for your team.

Celebi has access to the same moves as those in your Meganium set (Heal Bell and Aromatherapy do the same thing as long as you have no Soundproof Pokemon), and has better or equal stats in all areas.

Scizor's omnipresence in OU makes Jynx a liability to the rest of your team. Nothing besides Dragonite resists U-turn, and Jynx's Stealth Rock weakness will make it difficult to get in the battle, let alone sweep in OU. Also, 95 speed is rather lackluster for such a frail sweeper. While Lovely Kiss sets Jynx apart from these Pokemon somewhat, Alakazam and Azelf have access to Calm Mind and Nasty Plot (respectively), and higher Special Attack and Speed to threaten Pokemon that Jynx would get outrun and OHKOed by. Alakazam has much higher Special Attack and a lack of a Flamethrower weakness to make Calm Mind more viable, and Azelf's Levitate ability and excellent special movepool makes it a far more diverse threat.

It doesn't seem that the team is bad, rather, most of the Pokemon in it are bad compared to their OU counterparts. Maybe you could switch out Dragonite and Jirachi and try it in UU. You have a lot of cool Pokemon, but the lack of power and Speed means that you'll have trouble matching the pace of OU's heavy hitters or walls.
