The Set-up
-------------------------------------
Solrock @ Lum Berry
Brave
252 HP/252 Atk/4 Def
Trick Room
Explosion
Light Screen
Rock Slide
Solrock is chosen as my lead due to Explosion, and his ability to bluff a standard suicide lead. After setting up Trick Room, I either Explode, or use Light Screen if I feel it is necessary. Rock Slide provides offence in a pinch.
Exeggutor @ Focus Sash
Quiet
252 Atk/252 SpAtk/4 HP
Trick Room
Explosion
Sleep Powder
Grass Knot
Like Solrock, Exeggutor is a powerful TR starter because he has access to Explosion. Sleep Powder only sweetens the deal. Also, Grass Knot off of 125 base SpAtk really hurts if need be, so he's not useless after setting up TR.
Slowking @ Leftovers
Quiet
252 HP/252 SpAtk/4 SpDef
Surf
Nasty Plot
Trick Room
Ice Beam
Unlike Solrock and Eggy, Slowking is able to pull off a bit of a sweep after he sets up Trick Room, making him very effective in lategame, after my main sweepers have bit the dust. I chose Ice Beam in the last slot due to my team's rather severe Grass weakness.
The Sweepers
Clamperl @ Deepseatooth
Quiet
252 HP/252 SpAtk/4 Def
Surf
Ice Beam
HP Grass
Brine
Come on, who didn't see this coming? 542 Special Attack, one of the lowest base Speed stats in the game, and perfect type coverage make Clamperl a deadly TR candidate. As I just said, this set gives perfect coverage, and Brine is there because, well, Clamperl literally has NO better options, which says quite a bit about why it's NU.
Aggron @ Choice Band
Brave
252 HP/252 Atk/4 Def
EQ
Rock Slide
Aqua Tail
Double-Edge
Aggron was added to the team in order to absorb Bug, Ghost, and Dark-type moves, which all 3 of my Psychic-type TR starters are weak to. This is not his only purpose, however, as he does have over 500 Attack with a Choice Band equipped, as well as a large physical movepool.
Marowak @ Thick Club
Brave
252 HP/252 Atk/4 Def
EQ
Double-Edge
Fire Punch
Rock Slide
568 Attack. What more needs to be said?...
OK, fine, Mr. Rule 3! I'll say more! Geesh! Anyway Marowak is arguably the deadliest force in TR, except maybe Power Trick Shuckle. With his signature Thick Club, there is very little Marowak cannot OHKO, especially in NU.
