A UU team with a Sun, a Moon, and a nightmare Bivalve.

I tried this team on Shoddy. I found VERY few UU matches, but won virtually all of them except one vs Shiny Oddish (ODDish, whatever). He got me when Clamperl's Ice Beam did not OHKO Parasect and I got Spored. Even so Scyther managed a late game sweep, and it ended 2-0.

Unlike in OU, setting up Clamperl early on is not a bad idea. Clamperl can 1-2HKO every single pokemon in UU with ease. If I think my opponent will switch, or in some way ward off Hypnosis I just Trick Room outright. I might remove Rain Dance, since I rarely have the time for it. Maybe a nice Ice Beam or Stealth Rock instead.

Does a similar job as Lunatone, yet it has physical defense instead of special. Unlike Lunatone, I will keep this alive if posible as it can actually kill things when it needs to. Focus Sash helps with random stat-uppers, as it lets me fight off Nasty Plotted Ninetails and Swords Danced Pinsers.

Basically a poor man's Bronzong. Earth Power kills the UU steels (Aggron, Bastiodon, Mawile, Probopass). Rain Dances, Trick Rooms, then Explodes when I deem the time is right. In UU, I don't need to scout for Blisseys. I don't know what the EVs should be for him. Whatever lets him take the most threats in UU since he's my final Clamperl setup poke he needs to be the most reliable.

As strong as this is in OU, it rapes so much harder in UU. Clamperl 2HKOs everything, if not outright OHKO. Actually, Quagsire is probably not 2HKOed since its immune to Surf. I don't have much to say here that I haven't said in my Clamperl discusion page.

If I had this when I fought ODDish I might have had a chance to wake up Clamperl. Anyway, it counters the bulky waters mainly Quagsire. Toxic helps with stallish pokes, and can do the slight amount of residual damage I need to get OHKOs with Clamperl. Pretty damn bulky, it can stall teams by itself. Good for crippling defenseive pokes that are 2HKOed by Clamperl.

Subs on the switch, or to counter status. Swords Dance quickly turns this into a rape machine. Usually the last pokemon I send out, it is used for cleanup. Stealth Rock pisses him off, but its never stopped me from sweeping with him.
 
i think i played this or some variation. it had a clamperl and that same lead + a solrock. I am chaos herax on shoddy. but from the look of this clamperl should be bl. if it can 1-2hko everything its a bit cheap. anyway maybe change scyther to a scarfpinsir for some more late game clean up but just a nitpick. good team.
 
i could see you having problems with a boltbeam lanturn it could hit all your pokemon super effective to solve this put a hypno or grumpig over one of the three trick roomers you should be fine with two.
 
Maybe over Claydol? Hypno / Grumpig can Trick Room right?

Of course, I could always Explode on it. Not like my Trick Roomers are built to do anything else once they... Trick Room.
 
over claydol is good and they can both trick room.You could explode on it but it might substitute and you might not want to lose one of your walls to it anyway
 
Actually, does anything beat Driftblimp, Lanturn, and can set up Trick Room? Baton Pass Driftblimps are a pain in the ass. I killed one with Solrock, but I had near rediculous luck since I was paralyzed and Stone Edge hit 4 times in a row (he was stalling me with substitute).
 
why rain dance on lunatone? i'd go with stealth rock. i love that clampearl btw =]

I'm conflicted... Rain Dance makes Clamperl even more destructive, but Stealth Rock lets it get a OHKO on Parasect.

If anything can Heal Bell / Aromatherapy and Stealth Rock, i'll use it over Meganium.

Or maybe Stealth Rock over Rain Dance on Lunatone. Eh..

Trick Room, switch out, switch in, Trick Room, repeat. If you want another Trick Roomer for a safer sweep, two at the very max. Lunatone / Solrock and Claydol can actually end up doing a better job than Clamperl, if converted to pose a threat alone, instead of being there just to help another. I don't know about Scyther's spread, I think a few more HP EVs are in order, to have a shot a survival.

Wasting isn't the word i'd use... They do their job, then attempt a kill with Explosion.

Clamperl can't switch in. At all. He might survive one STABed hit, but no more.

Maybe, but i'm trying to make this a Clamperl team. Lunatone, Solrock, and Claydol do incredible jobs of raping my opponent's team, and setting up Clamperl's sweeps.

I don't know about Scyther's spread, I think a few more HP EVs are in order, to have a shot a survival.

There are no other 105 base speeds in UU, so I could probably lower his speed a bit. I was thinking about replacing Substitute for Roost, and Leftovers for Life Orb. It would give him better attack and survivability, but no status protection.
