A Wrinkle in Room

A Trick Room RMT

...nothing more to add there. I love trick room, and after playing 35 or more games with it, i've decided to post the team here. I've been slowly smothing out the dents, but i haven't play pokemon in a couple months, and the game is changed. Not only Platinium, but the entire game in general. When i left Gyarados was the big bad lead, now it is bronzong(I think 0_o). So I really need to stop worrying about the dents and more about the big gapping holes. What better plase then the smogon RMT?
(The 35 games are recent, not months old.)(I hope the sprites work)

Sassy Heatproof Bronzong @ Leftovers
252HP/188Atk/68SpD
Earthquake
Stealth Rock
Trick Room
Explosion

The Lead. It wouldn't be right putting any other pokemon first. Set up Room, rocks, and blow up when your good and ready. If they swop in a fire type Earthquake is waiting. Attack Ev's can OHKO a 40 HP Heatran a bit more than 50% of the time, plus they make explosion hurt just that much more. Heatproof to combat the fire type the will try to use on bronzong and rocks just for general damage.

Problems: I once saw a Porgon2 Trick Room Lead with Magic Coat. I now know why. Getting off a fast Trick Room is cool, and Hypnosis, Trick, and other just plain annoying stuff hurts.
The SpD nature and EVs are just beacuase he needs some bulk, and that seemed right. They don't prevent any thing specific and maybe they could.
Earthquake can be a powerful use VS heatran, but the occasion to use it is rare.
Stealth Rocks sometimes seem out of place.

Quiet Own Tempo Slowking @ Leftovers
252HP/252SpA/4SpD
Surf
Psychic
Nasty Plot
Trick Room

Another Trick Roomer and an amazing one at that. With a bit of Prediction you can get this baby in and he will sweep by himself. Other times he can at get a trick room in and let another sweeper take it from there. His typing makes me sad, but he is still usable. Nothing really to explain. Surf and Psychic for massive STAB.

Sassy Trace Porgon2 @ Leftovers
252HP/200Def/56SpD
Thunderbolt
Ice Beam
Recover
Trick Room

A nice little wall that can Trick Room. He has a fairly easy time coming in and setting up Trick Room. I might be making him my lead with Magic Coat for Trick, Hypnosis, Taunt Leads. Bolt Beam KOs only the weakest pokemon Beacuase I haven't invested much into SpA.

Brave No Guard Machamp @ Leftovers
252Hp/252Atk/4Def
DynamicPunch
ThunderPunch
Ice Punch
Stone Edge

MACHAMP OHKOS SHIT WITH TR DYNAMICPUNCH LOL

Sorry for some reason I had to do that. My favorite and probably best attacker. This guy really is just amazing. Only thing is I think I need to trade Stone Edge for Earthquake.

Brave Rock Head Marowak @ Thick Club
252HP/252Atk/4Def
Earthquake
Fire punch
Rock Slide
ThunderPunch

Another dude to pass trick room to. Lots of help here. He always just feels like a watered down Machamp.

Brave Poison Heal Breloom @ Toxic Orb
252HP/252Atk/4Def
Seed Bomb
Stone Edge
Super Power
ThunderPunch

Same as with Marowak, he just doesn't fill my heart like machamp does. He still gets kills, just not like Machamp does it.

To end I'd just like to say this team need a sleep absorber pretty bad. If anything comes to mind please let me know.

I'd especially like to know what you guys think about a Magic Coat Porgon2 and an update to today current metagame.

Thanks for any intelligent comments!

(I had a bit of trouble with the font size, i hope it works out okay.)

EDIT: Replacments for Marowak or Breloom will be heavily considered. If anything pops into you mind don't hesitate.

I dont really think Breloom is slow enough to utilize Trick Room effectively. I would replace him with something that isn't a fighting or ground type, because you don't want to overlap roles with Marowak and Machamp.

I would personally replace Marowak with Rhyperior (who has almost as much attack, and can actually use an item) because he's a lot bulkier and gets better type coverage thanks to STAB Edge/Quake. Three attacks and Swords Dance or Substitute should be fine.

Breloom could be replaced by Metagross, or, dare I say it; Lickilicky. Lickilicky is very, very slow, and has an awesome movepool. You could make it a decent wallbreaker with a mixed set. Fire Blast, Earthquake, Explosion and Gyro Ball maybe, I'm not exactly sure. You could tinker with it... Lickilicky has fairly balanced stats and can pull off almost anything in Trick Room.

I don't really like how you're blowing up Bronzong so early. Try to be less suicidal with it. He's bulky enough to set up Trick Room more than once.

BAH.

Get octillery with expert belt. It is unpredictable and can kill. 2 fighting types is kind of redundant (there are 3 physical attacking TR users) HERE IS WHAT YOU USE (over breloom)

Octillery @ expert belt/LIFEORB
252 HP 252satk
Quiet nature

surf
energy ball
flamethrower/signal beam/charge beam/ice beam
flamethrower/signal beam/charge beam/ice beam

I used (laugh all you want) Sleep talking choice band mamoswine as a sleep absorber. It was funny. I ran max speed so I could beat SDluke as well. That was comical.

I also had sunflora (the world's funniest) with a miracle seed (choice specs works)

I set up sunny day with my heat rock claydol, then I trick roomed and switched out (on surfs and grass knots) or exploded on frail pokes. THEN I KILLED. With solar power and miracle seed it hit hard. Look into UU or NU for good trick room users. Many decent pokemon with high attack stats and good movepool (like octillery) are there because of low speed or average defenses.

Marowak works in theory, but communism also works (in theory) I just don't know what is wrong with marowak. It has the attack (definately) and decent movepool... but it isn't as good as it looks.

EDIT AGAIN: HEY I remembered something funny. In a random battle a lickitongue swept my team because it had blizzard, thunder and flamethrower. You could try something like that I guess.

have you ever thought about using a scizor? His attack is enormous and he is pretty slow which will allow you to set up SD. This will help in using a roost for healing and superpower or X-scisser for countering counters. X-scissor is probably the best choice because you already have a fighting and scizor would be a great counter for psychics that will be attracted to machamp.

Good ideas. Metagross can also clean up toxic spikes right?

I've already thought about Ryperior he seems like a solid choice(bad puns FTL >_>). I'm going to test him as my next replacment for marowak.

I skipped lickilicky and went strait to snorlax. :p Slower Fatter and all that jazz. No gyro ball, but i dont think it really would have mattered. Snorlax Fails in trick room (at least how i was using him) and i dont think Lickilicky has much he does aside from Gyro Ball(I think it is a bit overated too be truthful). Maybe I will try a special Lickilicky or something. XD

(I hope this quote works :p)Wow. The octillery set is fantastic, period. Totally out strips my breloom in everything. I thought you were a bit crazy with your choice band 'Swine and Sunflora, but the Octillery set is solid. I might wind up testing out you crazy stuff since the octillery owns so much. :p

Another good idea. I'm going to test this with everything else to replace marowak. I don't know why he doesnt work very well, but he needs to be replaced with something. The Thing is in trick room I dont have turns to waste on SD so I might have to do a pure attack set. :P But I will try the SD set too, just to be sure.
