General
+ Arguably the best Gale Wings abuser in Almost Any Ability as it's slightly more powerful than Staraptor and much bulkier
+ Access to Superpower gives Braviary almost perfect neutral coverage with its STABs, with only Doublade and Rotom resisting all 3
+ Can also run a bulkier set with Bulk Up and Roost
- Weak to Stealth Rock
- Low Speed, although Gale Force can mitigate this

Braviary @ Choice Band
Ability: Gale Wings
EVs: 92 HP / 252 Atk / 164 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Brave Bird
- Return
- Superpower
- U-turn
- Brave Bird is the main STAB, which also gets +1 priority thanks to Gale Wings.
- Return is the alternate STAB, hitting bulky Electric types like Rotom-W and Zapdos hard
- Superpower hits Rock and Steel types super effectively, although it should be used sparingly due to its stat penalties
- U-turn lets Braviary scout switch ins and grab momentum
- EVs allow Braviary to outrun 0 Speed Zapdos, with Attack maximised and the remainder in HP for bulk
- Choice Band gives Braviary immense power right off the bat
Braviary @ Leftovers / Life Orb
Ability: Delta Stream / Tinted Lens / Magic Guard
EVs: 252 HP / 204 SDef / 52 Spd
Careful Nature
- Bulk Up
- Roost
- Brave Bird
- Substitute / Superpower
- Bulk Up increases Attack and Defence, making Braviary more powerful and harder to revenge kill
- Roost keeps Braviary healthy
- Brave Bird is the chosen Attack, as it hits hard and nothing is immune to it
- Substitute allows Braviary to avoid status and Leech Seed, and safely set up Bulk Up. If running Magic Guard, Superpower can be used for extra coverage
- The EVs give Braviary enough HP to make 101 HP Substitutes. 52 Speed EVs let you outrun uninvested Rotom-A. The rest is placed in Special Defence and a boosting nature chosen to make the best of Braviary's mixed bulk
- Leftovers helps replenish health lost through Substitutes, although a Life Orb can also be used with Magic Guard to hit harder
- As for the chosen ability, there are several viable choices. Delta Stream negates Braviary's weaknesses, giving it an easier chance to set up. Tinted Lens lets you hit just about everything for neutral damage, as Magnezone is the only common Pokémon that X4 resists Flying moves. Magic Guard lets you avoid passive damage and Brave Bird recoil
- A Roost + 3 attacks set using a Sky Plate is viable. If that's what you want, use Gale Wings and the same spread as the Choice Band set
- Braviary does have access to Defog, but Mandibuzz, Zapdos and Togekiss are superior Defog users due to their better bulk. An Offensive Defog set isn't out of the question though
- A Choice Scarf set is possible, but largely pointless as the Choice Band set can already revenge kill very well
- Tough Claws could be used as that does give Braviary immense power. However, Staraptor does a Tough Claws set better, as it is much faster
- Prankster, Gale Wings and Scrappy can be used on the Bulk Up set. If running Scrappy, go for Return instead of Brave Bird as that has no recoil.
- Bulky Steel types. Doublade is immune to Superpower and Return, while resisting Brave Bird and U-turn. The Bulk Up set can break through if it's running Tinted Lens though. Skarmory and Mega Aggron wall Braviary completely, and can phaze it out before it gets too many boosts
- Rock types. Pokémon like Terrakion and Tyranitar can easily KO Braviary with the super effective STABs, although most take heavy damage from Superpower
- Faster Electric types. While many can't switch in, Pokémon like Mega Manectric and Thundurus can outrun Braviary and OHKO it with their super effective STAB moves
- Burns. Burns render Braviary totally useless
