Zarude scivola sopra il metagame di AAA con il potere di Erbogenesi e Erboscivolata! Danzaspada trasforma Zarude in un setup sweeper pericoloso, consentendogli di mandare KO in un colpo solo revenge killer veloci come Deoxys-S e Chien-Pao tramite Erboscivolata, oltre che wall difensivi come Pecharunt e Iron Hands. Erboscivolata permette a Zarude di agire revenge kiler contro avversari con pochi PS, mentre Privazione infastidisce switch-in come Corviknight e Skarmory. L’Assorbisfera e una natura Decisa sono utilizzate per assicurarsi che Zarude infligga il massimo dei danni, con Erbogenesi che aiuta a mitigare il danno residuo dell’Assorbisfera. Zarude si abbina bene a compagni di squadra come Zamazenta che possono eliminare Roaring Moon e Kingambit. Anche Zapdos è un buon partner, in quanto può agire da check di tipi Fuoco veloci come Cinderace e Iron Moth oltre che di Corviknight, che è il miglior check di Zarude. Alleati deboli al tipo Terra come Gholdengo, Iron Hands e Pecharunt apprezzano Erbogenesi di Zarude, che indebolisce Terremoto di Great Tusk, Roaring Moon e Landorus-T.
