Aaahh!! There's a Garchomp in the(sand?)

After seeing that Garchomp was back in the OU tier, I decided to create a team around Garchomp. Garchomp is a fearsome sweeper on his own, but in a threatening new metagame he needs help. As does this team! The team can probably get better, so help please! =)

Tyranitar@Leftovers
-Stealth Rock
-Fire Blast
-Superpower
-Pursuit
160hp/72atk/96spa/182spd
Brave(+Atk -Spe)
Sandstream

This seemed like the obvious lead for the team, since Garchomp has Sand Veil and I wanted to abuse it. There could be Hippowdon or Tyranitar, but in the end Tyranitar seemed superior. I used a similar lead set on my last team, just to let you know. Two of Garchomp's biggest checks are the Lati twins. Thanks to Tyranitar, they are no longer a check to it(evil laugh)! Stealth Rock is there for obvious reasons, damage on switch. Fire Blast and Superpower beat most leads in the metagame such as Skarmory(2HKO) , Forretress(2HKO), Ferrothorn, Heatran, and others. Pursuit beats the Lati twins. Tyranitar is EVd so that he can be a sturdy tank, but strong enough to attack.

Garchomp@Yache Berry

-Outrage
-Earthquake
-Stone Edge/Fire Fang
4hp/252atk/252spe
Jolly(+Spe -SpA)
Sand Veil

Say hello to the star of the team, the infamous Garchomp! Swords Dance sends Garchomp's attack to insane levels, allowing it to OHKO-2HKO most pokemon with Outrage. Outrage is the main attack for Garchomp and beats a lot of troublesome pokemon that annoy the team. Earthquake gives my Garchomp it's infamous Dragon/Ground combo STAB. I couldn't really decide between Stone Edge and Fire Fang so I'll let you decide. Running Stone Edge, Garchomp beats Sigilyph(who can burn him) and other flying types, while Fire Fang gives it unresisted coverage. Although I wouldn't rely on it, Sand Veil could help me set up a Swords Dance easier. Finally, Yache Berry is there to let Garchomp survive Ice Attacks.

Poke212.png

Scizor@Lum Berry
-Swords Dance
-Bullet Punch
-Bug Bite
-Roost
252hp/48atk/212spd
Adamant(+Atk -SpA)
Technician

So here is Garchomp's number two guy. They have amazing type synergy together, Garchomp resists Fire(Scizor's only weakness) while Scizor takes Ice and Dragon attacks! Scizor is special defensively bulky, so it can take the Ice Beams and Draco Meteors aimed at Garchomp, while having enough attack to make it deadly after a Swords Dance. Bullet Punch beats Tyranitar and picks off weakened pokemon. It's also really powerful after Technician and is the main attack. Bug Bite hits Psychic types and stuff that resists steel. Scizor and Garchomp make a great core together, but there are some other key members.

Poke134.png

Vaporeon@Leftovers
-Wish
-Heal Bell
-Scald
-Ice Beam
188hp/68spa/252def
Bold(+Def -Atk)
Water Absorb

Ah, classic Vaporeon. Vaporeon is much better suited for the team now then it would have been early 4th generation. With new Wish mechanics, Vaporeon can heal a lot of HP for a lot of the members. Heal Bell is there to help against Sleep, Burn, and Toxic(aimed at Garchomp mostly). Scald was picked over surf because I don't really care about the power difference and I like it's nice burn rate. Ice Beam hits those 4x weak dragons. Vaporeon is also a great sponge for attacks, and I go to Vaporeon for stuff like Salamence, Glicsor, Flygon, Dragonite, Haxorus, and Garchomp(long list huh?). Vaporeon is probably the third most important pokemon on the team.

Poke227.png

Skarmory@Leftovers/Shed Shell
-Spikes
-Brave Bird
-Whirlwind
-Roost
252hp/232def/20spe
Impish(+Def -SpA)
Sturdy

Skarmory forms the defensive backbone for the team. Garchomp and Skarmory are awesome together. It's the second Dragon resist on the team and that's important since now I have a special sponge for dragon and a physical one. What's awesome about Skarmory is that I can bring him in at almost any stage of the battle. Skarmory is also a nice way for me to stop set up sweepers, if they set up I can just Whirlwind. Spikes helps the team hit grounded pokemon that resist Stealth Rock. Finally, Skarmory fits nicely since it's two weaknesses are resisted by the bulky Garchomp.

Poke472.png

Gliscor@Toxic Orb
-Swords Dance
-Earthquake
-Facade
-Taunt
252hp/232def/20spe
Jolly(+Spe -SpA)
Posion Heal

The last member of the team is Gliscor. Gliscor is an amaziong counter to Excadrill, taking a maximum of 36% from Balloon Rock Slide! Other than that, Gliscor can taunt stall oriented teams to death while also removing a few counters here and there for Garchomp. Gliscor can also pull off a small sweep with Swords Dance, and is part of my Triple Swords Dance Doom strategy. This way if Garchomp and Scizor fall, I have backup to sweep with. Gliscor is also blessed with it's great base 125 defense stat, letting it function as a late game sweeper and tank. Sandstorm teams would crush my team if I didn't have Gliscor!

Imo, you should put Ice Fang over Facade to provide a solid check to physical dragons like Chomp and D-Nite.
