ORAS UU Abomasnow doesn't suck; you do.

Introduction: This team was built to show that Abomasnow is viable, absolutely viable, in UU. I succeeded what I set out to do and then some.

My team peaked #3 on the ladder at 1720+ (I'm still top10 on ladder even though I haven't played for weeks LOL) before I got bored and stopped playing due to a lack of competition. I built this team around Abomasnow-Mega. The first question that came to mind was: how the hell is the snowman going to be able to come in safely to spam his all powerful move, Blizzard? He's slow as a block of ice, so there's no way he's going to be effective without the proper support. Enter a Volt-Turn-Turn core in Jirachi, Mienshao, and Forrestress.

Abomasnow-Mega @ Abomasite
Ability: Snow Warning
EVs: 208 HP / 48 Atk / 252 SpA
Quiet Nature
- Blizzard
- Giga Drain
- Protect
- Ice Shard

Get in, spam Blizzard, and win. Giga Drain is a good secondary STAB to deal heavy damage while recovering some health. Protect is a great utility move since I find Hidden Power Fire or another gimmicky move ineffective. It feels like an orgasm every time you Protect a High Jump Kick from an opposing Pokemon. With 48 Atk EVs and a Quiet Nature, Abomasnow-Mega's Ice Shard is actually one point deadlier than regular Abomasnow's. It's a good move to pick off weakened 'mons in tandem with Protect. Only lamers use that stupid Swords Dance set with Wood Hammer and Earthquake.

jirachi.jpg

Jirachi @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- U-turn
- Iron Head
- Zen Headbutt
- Healing Wish

Some people think I'm crazy to have both Iron Head and Zen Headbutt together on my revenge killer. Frankly, you're not good enough to understand the simplicity of it. With all the powerful Fire-types and Fighting-types in the tier, not having Zen Headbutt as a secondary STAB would be idiotic. U-turn for momentum since Jirachi is great at forcing switches. Healing Wish gives Abomasnow and Zygarde a second chance at a sweep.

Zygarde @ Leftovers
Ability: Aura Break
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Substitute
- Earthquake
- Outrage

A Ground Pokemon is necessary when building a team, especially having one as powerful as Zygarde. It's not fun to get trolled by VoltTurn teams. Dance and sweep. Nothing else to say here. Substitute surprises some opponents occasionally to aid in the sweep.

foretress.jpg

Forretress @ Leftovers
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 248 HP / 180 Def / 80 SpA
Bold Nature
IVs: 30 Atk / 30 Def
- Stealth Rock
- Rapid Spin
- Volt Switch
- Hidden Power Ice

The jack of all trades. Set up rocks, spin away opposing hazards, act as physical pivot with Volt Switch. Hidden Power Ice is mandatory. Without it, opposing Zygardes would just set up on my Forretress with impunity. The 80 SpA ensures that Forretress will be able to break even the most specially defensive Zygardes (the SubCoil set) at least 94% of the time.

miensh.jpg

Mienshao @ Life Orb
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Fake Out
- U-turn
- High Jump Kick
- Knock Off

Do I really need to explain this? Come in, deal as much damage as possible, and run. U-turn out of an incoming Alomolala, Suicune, etc and have a field day with Abomasnow-Mega.

Vaporeon @ Leftovers
Ability: Water Absorb
EVs: 200 HP / 232 Def / 56 SpD / 20 Spe
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Scald
- Wish
- Protect
- Roar

Vaporeon is my "Special Wall." It takes hits, absorbs Water moves, and phaze away things for giggles. Scald is a gay move since it burns 90% of the time. Having a Pokemon as formidable as Vaporeon to keep my team healthy while absorbing Scalds and burning stuff is a win-win-win condition.

hilarious, no. Forretress, Mienshao, and Abomasnow-Mega put too much pressure on stall teams. They have to play impeccably to not get smashed.

You can easily replace Zygarde with Swampert or Krookodile or Nidoqueen. Or replace Abomasnow-Mega with Serperior (now that Contrary is legal) and replace Zygarde with offensive Mega-Swampert with Rain Dance. There are some good alternatives.

Forretress also doesn't need Hidden Power Ice anymore. Put the EVs into Defense, instead.
