[overview]
absol may have low defences and speed but it has a base 130 attack stat, almost as high as salamence. absol also has the ability super luck which raises its critical hit ratio that not many pokemon have.
absol has a lot of powerful physical attacks such as stone edge, superpower, psycho cut and sucker punch.absol has the strongest priority move in the game, even stronger than scizor's bullet punch
scizor's bullet punch+technician+STAB=90
absol's sucker punch+STAB=120
absol can also learn toxic and thunder wave by TM but is not useful as absol is better used for sweeping.
it can also learn calm mind, the boltbeam combo, water pulse, baton pass, mean look, magic coat and flamethrower but all of absol’s stats are low, not including its very high attack
NOTE: all the absol sets here will have super luck
SECOND NOTE: I am relatively new to competitative battles, that is why I do not say stuff like “a max Attack Outrage stands at a 20% chance of OHKOing 252/252 Relaxed Swampert after Stealth Rock” or use percentages of OHKO’ing.
THIRD NOTE: the calculations in the second note is made up as swampert has good defences and HP. even with salamences good attack, it would take: max attack, life orb and +2 attack boost to OHKO(I do not know)

I already said that absols stats(not including its attack) are low so a salac boost is just the thing it needs as absol cannot raise its speed stat unless you have a baton passer on your team or by using a salac berry. Life orb will raise its power so it’s up to you whether you want speed or power. By using the salac berry, you can use that 1 empty space on your team for a wish supporter/spiker/spin blocker/annoyer/etc. And ninjask is not exactly a pokemon that will stay around for long.

with an adamant nature and choice band, absol's goes up to 591 while with jolly and the choice scarf the speed goes up to 373.
either item will make absol very deadly but I would recommend the scarf as absol will still have 394 attack with the scarf but the band only has 249 speed

This is an anti lead and absol can not a hit from an OU sweeper like azelf, latias(if it’s not uber yet) or metagross so it needs a focus sash.
Thunder wave and will-o-wisp/toxic can cripple team that do not have a heal bell user as the OU Tier has lots of sweepers and pursuit can hit azelf, latias or celebi when they switch out when hit by megahorn.
Psycho cut is for leadape and superpower is for hitting blissey, weavile and tyranitar. Also for metagross who takes neutral damage from it.
Night slash is for STAB, high critical ratio and super luck boosted critical hits
[Other options]
baton pass and mean look are good choices for absol but not only are they both egg moves but umbreon can pass mean look a lot better then absol
bounce is good for paralyse hax but aerial ace is more reliable in accuracy, snatch is very good but requires good prediction if you’re lucky you could heal absol this way, you can even raise its attack or speed which will help it out a lot in the OU Tier.
[Team options]
Since Weezing and Spiritomb, some of Absol's biggest counters, can Will-O-Wisp Absol, Pokémon that benefit from Will-O-Wisp are excellent team partners.
Milotic can use marvel scale to boost its defences and then use rest or you can use swellow as it resists both fighting and bug type attacks and has the ability guts to raise its attack
Absol, like most(if not all) sweepers benifits from entry hazards: skarmory has a 4x resistance to bug and takes neutral damage from fighting attacks and fight back with a STAB brave bird or just use whirlwind while foretress can learn all the entry hazard moves and rapid spin to stop spikers setting up on you
[EV's]
max Attack and Speed is needed to show absol full potential in the OU Tier but the anti-lead Sol set needs to have a bit of HP EV's to survive hits
[Counters]
In my own experience with using absol, any sweeper with at least 80 base Atk or SpAtk can do lots of damage even neutral hits(I use a life orb set, with swords dance)
Gallade spings to mind as it resist psycho cut(I think) and can OHKO absol with a STAB close combat.
Herracross can use guts to take status moves and hit with a STAB close combat or a STAB megahorn but does not like absols life orb psycho cut’s
Milotic may not be a real threat to absol but can use marvel scale to boost its defence and then rest of the damage and use sleep talk to make absol get hit by STAB surfs/hydro pumps or it can stall absol into wasting its PP and then attack
