TL:DR here: Create an option to randomize what set team you'll use before loading up any game (with a toggle option to add "x" team into the randomizer for "y" tier), with a second option in the teambuilder to randomize Pokemon orders to make it harder to scout in replays.
I'm a really old Monotype player. One of the worst perceived feelings on Showdown is when I'm trying to actively ladder and improve and I load up a Grass team into a Fire team and get a bad type/playstyle matchup, especially when it matters for something (Monotype Ladder Tournament that gives potential circuit points, for example). For MLT/other ladder tours in particular, I don't have the option to hide my games from public view because I have to use a set prefix that doesn't allow me to hide battle rooms, and a name where they must be similar to my original IGN to the point where people can figure out who I am very easily and recall my playstyle. With that comes other tournament participants/regular high-ladder players/snipers that might just get an advantage/gatekeep me by laddering with a type/style of team that counteracts what I'm currently using. From that comes the circle of rage laddering where I have to think of something else to load which can lead to lost ELO which leads to tilt which leads to a new team and lost ELO... and so forth. This is a common feeling that can happen to most, if not all participants in a ladder tour, in every tier where it applies. I don't necessarily want to give up on my ladder run because someone's using something that beats specifically me, and I also don't want those ladder snipers to one up me because they know I'm using a certain type of team.
Here's where the randomizer comes in; my suggestion is to add:
1: A toggleable option to add/remove a specific team in the randomizer (ideally next to the "validate" button for clarity);
2: A "randomize team order" button that will automatically shuffle the 6 Pokemon I'm using out of order, and;
3: A "randomize team" button on the main challenge screen (under the "allow spectators" button) that will randomly select a team to be loaded up from the ones that are toggled "on" in the builder, per tier.
Points 1 and 3 go hand in hand for laddering purposes, specifically for ladder tournaments and challenge cycles specifically. I'm already not allowed to keep information on teams I'm using from the public/other participants, so at the very least I don't want them to get the upper hand on me while I'm making a climb. Note that it doesn't make it any easier/harder to fight whoever you're matched up with on the ladder, you're bound to end up getting an unfavorable matchup anyway in teams/playstyles, but this would make it significantly harder for those actively looking to grief/snipe other players to get a favorable matchup against those people.
Point 2 is more for large tournament purposes. Is it entirely possible to make an alternate account to test teams with a teammate/friend anyway; yes. However, the more you use the same alt, consecutively, the more people are likely to catch on, and it be used against you by former teammates in team tours which leads to various alts being created. I'll draw from Monotype specifically; some types are blessed more than others when it comes to building/battling in terms of variety and versatility. There's types like Water that can be built on various forms of HO/BO with options to plug-and-play with, while other types like Ice are resigned to a mandated core of 3/4 Pokemon with little wiggle room for set variety and flexibility, making it easier to scout and giving opponents solid ideas of how a certain team is piloted by specific people. In cases like those, rearranging the order of mons can be super useful aesthetically, as a way to make it harder for the opposition to find patterns in previously used teams.
All of this is really in the purpose of making those ladder climbs, especially those of ladder tours, just a bit more bearable.
