Heal Bell (Flaaffy) @ Leftovers
Ability: Static
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
IVs: 2 Atk / 30 SpA
Modest Nature
- Thunderbolt
- Heal Bell
- Hidden Power Grass
- Fire Punch

[SET COMMENTS]
Flaaffy's workable bulk, rare Electric typing, and access to the coveted Heal Bell make it a metagame staple. Hidden Power Grass targets Ground-types such as Rhyhorn and Cubone and 2HKOes Chinchou, which are immune to Thunderbolt. Fire Punch targets Grass-types and Magnemite, which resist the combination of Thunderbolt and Hidden Power Grass. This notably 2HKOes Gloom, a foe that could otherwise use Flaaffy as setup fodder. Static is Flaaffy's only available ability, though it has use letting Flaaffy paralyze foes that use contact moves.

Flaaffy best fits on balance and bulky offense teams that want a Pokemon that can cure status conditions for its team. Offensive Pokemon such as Aipom and Ponyta appreciate Flaaffy removing status conditions they may take while wallbreaking, while defensive Pokemon appreciate Flaaffy removing Toxic from them, such as in the case of Tropius and Porygon, or wake them up after using Rest, such as in the case of Noctowl and Clamperl. Flaaffy has significant competition with Delcatty in this role, though Flaaffy justifies its use with its solid offensive presence, making it effective at taking on some physical walls and Electic-weak foes such as Koffing, Clamperl, and Noctowl. While Flaaffy can be used to defensively check some foes such as Elekid and Koffing, it is quite frail and thus should generally avoid taking hits; as a result, bulky teammates such as Tropius, Mightyena, and Gloom make great partners. Bulky attackers such as Tropius and Castform can also form potent offensive cores with Flaafy, with them able to KO or status each other's checks. Flaafy can't break through some special walls such as Porygon, making wallbreakers such as Choice Band Aipom useful partners. Flaaffy has the tendency to get worn down quickly due to its lack of reliable recovery, making Wish users such as Delcatty and Drowzee good teammates on more defensive teams. Despite the fact that Flaaffy should generally avoid taking hits, Static can let it punish weak contact attackers such as Delcatty and defensive variants of Mightyena. In a pinch, Flaaffy can also try to force paralysis on a wallbreaker such as Aipom or Meditite, though it will usually be KOed in the process.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============
Thunder Wave and Toxic let Flaaffy spread status, but it is generally best off not facing the offensive Pokemon Thunder Wave is most useful against, and it already has the tools to take on most defensive Pokemon without relying on Toxic. Additionally, Flaaffy is in generally limited supply of moveslots. Hidden Power Ice is an option to compress the means to hit both Ground- and Grass-types into a single moveslot and is notably Flaaffy's strongest option against Tropius, even OHKOing some variants. However, Hidden Power Grass is Flaaffy's only means to hit Chinchou, and thus it's very difficult to drop.

Checks and Counters
===================
**Ground-types**: Due to Flaaffy's low physical bulk, Ground-types such as Cubone can easily OHKO it and it usually fails to OHKO them first. Some Earthquake users can also threaten Flaaffy, notably offensive variants of Tropius, which can outspeed and OHKO it.

**Physical Wallbreakers**: Faster offensive Pokemon such as Choice Band Aipom, Doduo, and Meditite can easily outspeed and OHKO Flaafy, though they must be wary of Static paralyzing them.

**Special Walls**: Flaaffy cannot 2HKO some special walls such as Porygon, Delcatty, and Lileep that have reliable recovery, letting them win a war of attrition. Others that lack reliable recovery, such as Drowzee, can still KO or heavily weaken Flaaffy one-on-one.

**Chip Damage**: Due to Flaaffy's lack of reliable recovery, weaker hits can wear it down over the course of a longer game. Even with Heal Bell, damage taken from Toxic or burn can also leave a lasting dent.

I think it is important to emphasize that Hidden Power Grass allows Flaaffy to 2HKO Chinchou.
Mention specific interactions in which you can use static to your advantage (into QA users, sacking into Ponyta / Aipom, etc.)
Go into detail with Fire Punch and its interactions with Gloom
Talk about Thunderbolt and different calcs into CM Corsola.

Mention Flaaffy combining forces with other bulky attackers such as Castform, Tropius, and Mightyena and how they work well together.

Offensive Pokemon such as Aipom and Ponyta appreciate Flaaffy removing status conditions they may take while wallbreaking, while defensive Pokemon appreciate Flaaffy removing Toxic from them, such as in the case of Tropius and Mightyena (doesnt mighty usually have heal bell itself? at least the defensive variant with heal bell is the only smogdex set we have to reference), or wake them up after using Rest, such as in the case of Noctowl and Clamperl.
