[SET COMMENTS]
Tropius works as a potent sweeper and cleaner in ADV ZU, being able to hit hard into big threats such as Corsola and Seaking hard under sun. Solar Beam is a powerful move in sun even against Grass-resistant foes, such as Ponyta and Quilava. Hidden Power Fire hits Grass-types like Gloom especially hard. It is Tropius's best option against Grass-resistant foes, such as Koffing and Ariados. Earthquake hits Fire-types super effectively, including the likes of Ponyta and Quilava. Additionally, Earthquake can hit Chinchou and Corsola when sun isn't up. Lum Berry lets Tropius have an easier time taking on status users, such as Porygon and Wartortle. The Defense investment allows Tropius to survive Choice Band Drill Peck from Doduo and two Sludge Bombs from Koffing. The Speed investment lets Tropius outspeed Voltorb and the rest of the unboosted metagame under sun. A Rash nature allows for Tropius to hit hard with both its physical and special moves.

Tropius fits on dedicated sun teams thanks to its coverage and ability to sweep with Chlorophyll. Tropius really appreciates the support of Gloom, which can set sun right in front of rain teams even against Ice Beam coverage. Tropius works nicely alongside partners such as Ponyta and Quilava, as they benefit from the sun set by Tropius and more comfortably take Ice-type attacks from Pokemon such as Porygon and Abra. Sun setter Ponyta can help set up sun and beat Porygon with a Run Away set. Koffing is another potential sun setter that can support Tropius, and it's capable of taking on troublesome Poison-types such as Gloom and Ariados.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

Tropius can use a physical EV spread with Hidden Power Flying and Swords Dance as an alternative to its sun sweeper set, hitting specially defensive Pokemon like Gloom harder. However, this set struggles against Mightyena and its Intimidate. Non-sun Sun sweeper Tropius can pull Swords Dance off better despite being slower thanks to their extra bulk and longevity creating opportunities to set up. Sun sweeper Tropius wants Synthesis for recovery but struggles to fit it over either of its coverage moves.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Fire-types**: Fire-types such as Ponyta and Quilava threaten to OHKO offensive Tropius sets and 2HKO defensive sets. Tropius cannot OHKO them back with Earthquake without a Swords Dance boost or prior damage.

**Koffing**: Defensive Tropius can find it difficult to break through Koffing due to its great physical bulk.

**Porygon**: Porygon has the bulk to easily take attacks from Tropius while threatening it with Ice Beam and Toxic.

**Status**: Offensive Tropius sets hate getting hindered by paralysis and burns from foes like Elekid and Koffing, while more defensive sets greatly dislike Toxic from the likes of Porygon, especially since these sets are supposed to wall foes.

**Ice-type Attacks**: Tropius is massively threatened by Ice-type attacks. Ice-type coverage from foes like Corsola, Seaking, and Abra threatens to KO uninvested Tropius with little-to-no prior chip damage.

Tropius works as a potent sweeper and cleaner in the Generation 3 metagame (just say "ADV ZU"), being able to hit hard into big threats such as Corsola and Seaking, when the Sun is up. This works well in conjunction with its rather high stats compared to the rest of the meta filler/fluff not worth mentioning since it's pretty obvious. Lum Berry works as a nulification for hinderance such as Thunder Wave, as well as the rather present Toxic (items normally get explained after moves and before EVs, please move this accordingly). Solar Beam is the only STAB option here, but it hits extremely hard, even into resists, doing around 50% to Ponyta and Quilava. Hidden Power Fire is able to hit opposing Grass-types, especially ones that abuse Tropius' own Sun, like Gloom. Earthquake is the final attacking option, which hits Fire-types as well as Poison-types, including the likes of Ponyta. Additionally, Earthquake can hit Chinchou and others when Sun isn't up. The Defense investment allows for a pretty large chance to survive Drill Peck from Doduo, comfortably taking Sludge Bomb from Beedrill, and two Sludge Bombs from Koffing. The Special Attack is available to OHKO offensive Seaking, and sometimes OHKO bulkier Seaking sets. Finally, the Speed investment outspeeds Voltorb after the Sun goes up.

Tropius works nicely alongside partners such as Ponyta and Quilava, with their defensive synergy proving to be very sturdy, especially since they soak up Ice-type attacks (froms mons like?) that Tropius greatly fears. Pokemon like Weepinbell also appreciate Tropius, as it can set up Sun while being able to threaten Beedrill and even Koffing for Weepinbell. Tropius is very vulnerable to Porygon, which wields both immense bulk and Ice Beam which puts on great pressure. Partners that can patch this up include powerful wallbreakers like the aforementioned Quilava, as well as others like Meditite, although it can be difficult to switch in on Porygon's attacks. Tropius can also crumble in front of Seaking if the Rain is up, with many using Ice Beam, as well as other Rain Pokemon like Voltorb and Chinchou exploding or pressing Ice-type attacks, respectively. For this, bulky Sun setters like Koffing can work nicely, taking a hit, setting up Sun, and exploding on slower foes.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

Leaning completely into the Physical side, dropping Hidden Power Fire for Hidden Power Flying, Solar Beam for Swords Dance, and shifting the Special Attack investment to Physical Attack is certainly a option, and a strong one at that (explain why. what mons does this better matchup into? why is it overall not as solid as the main set? also specify this is for the sun sweeper set). Set up Tropius generally wants recovery in Synthesis, but this set can't fit that (you're writing the OO for all sets, so the end of this sentence doesnt make sense when you're talking about multiple sets). This set also would have a Mightyeana issue, being crippled by Intimidate. Make sure you mention OO for all Tropius sets

Checks and Counters
===================

**Ice-type Attacks**: Tropius has virtually no way around this besides switching, or getting Sun up before the user of the Ice-type attack even comes in. With the prevalence of Ice Beam in the meta, it can become really hard for Tropius to position itself.

**Porygon**: Porygon is extremely bulky and easily takes attacks, while also using Ice Beam. Porygon can also choose to cripple Tropius with a potential Toxic or Thunderbolt paralysis.

make sure you mention checks and counters that apply to all tropius sets since you're doing C&C for physically defensive too. also, mention how tropius struggles with certain targets if the sun isn't set up

Solar Beam is the only STAB option here is a powerful move in sun, Self-explanatory but and it hits extremely hard, even into resists foes that resist Grass, doing around 50% to Ponyta and Quilava. Hidden Power Fire is able to hit opposing Grass-types, especially ones that abuse Tropius' own Sun also have Chlorophyll, like Gloom. Mention that it's Tropius's best option against Koffing and some other Poison-types like Gloom and Ariados Earthquake is the final attacking option, which hits Fire-types as well as Poison-types, Can you name relevant Poison-types that this hits harder than HP Fire? Stuff like Gloom, Ariados, Beedrill, and Koffing take more from HP Fire including the likes of Ponyta and Quilava. Additionally, Earthquake can hit Chinchou and others What others? when Ssun isn't up. Tropius works as a potent sweeper and cleaner in ADV ZU, being able to hit hard into big threats such as Corsola and Seaking, when the Sun is up. Make this the first sentence of paragraph two, it fits better there Lum Berry works as a nulification for hinderance such as Thunder Wave, as well as the rather present Toxic lets Tropius have an easier time taking on status users, such as (give examples). The Defense investment allows for a pretty large chance to survive Drill Peck from Doduo, comfortably taking Sludge Bomb from Beedrill, and two Sludge Bombs from Koffing. Beedrill doesn't make much sense here, the calc's XHKO doesn't change. 148 is an odd number that doesn't hit anything specific. 160 lets you always live Choice Band Drill Peck from Doduo (be sure to mention Choice Band) and you lose nothing by dropping your Special Attack as far as I can see, so it's a way more sensible calc The Special Attack is available to OHKO offensive Seaking, and sometimes OHKO bulkier Seaking sets. It's basically maximized here, these calcs are irrelevant. Mention the Rash nature. Mention Speed before this since it's a dumping the remaining EVs. Finally, the Speed investment outspeeds Voltorb after the Sun goes up.

Tropius works nicely alongside partners such as Ponyta and Quilava, with their defensive synergy proving to be very sturdy, especially since they soak up Ice-type attacks from Porygon and Seaking Abra that Tropius greatly fears. Pokemon like Weepinbell also appreciate Tropius, as it can set up Sun while being able to threaten Beedrill and even Koffing for Weepinbell. Tropius is very vulnerable to Porygon, which wields both immense bulk and Ice Beam which puts on great pressure. For this, bulky Sun setters like Koffing can work nicely, taking a hit, setting up Sun, and exploding on slower foes.

This section is very backwards. After moving the sentence mentioned in paragraph one, mention how it works in dedicated sun teams, and make sure to mentin Gloom before any other partner, The point about synergy with Fire-types isn't very accurate because they have no bulk and Ice-type moves aren't common. Mention that they can also make use of sun to wallbreak, and mention sun setter Ponyta as a great teammate. Rain should be spoken in context of the greater team: Gloom is notable for its ability to tank basically whatever is thrown at it in rain and set up sun. Koffing doesn't really work to check rain users, since it gets obliterated by basically any rain-boosted move unless it's some weird sp def set. Just mention Koffing as a sun setter that can take on other Grass-types. Then you can mention individual Pokemon like Porygon, which is checked by Run Away Ponyta and wallbreakers in sun.

Leaning completely into the Physical side, dropping Hidden Power Fire for Hidden Power Flying, Solar Beam for Swords Dance, and shifting the Special Attack investment to Physical Attack is certainly a option, and a strong one at that. This can work well as a sun sweeper alternative, hitting harder into specially defensive Pokemon like some Gloom sets. Set up Tropius generally wants recovery in Synthesis, which can be difficult to fit, specifically on sun sweeper sets. Mention this at the end, all sun sweeper Tropius variants want this This set also would have a Mightyeana issue, being crippled by Intimidate. Non-Sun sweeper Tropius can pull this off better, although being a bit too slow in many occasions with no sun. Pull what off? Swords Dance?

Checks and Counters
===================

**Ice-type Attacks**: Tropius has virtually no way around this besides switching, or getting Sun up before the user of the Ice-type attack even comes in. With the prevalence of Ice Beam in the meta, it can become really hard for Tropius to position itself. Mention Ice-tye coverage here

**Porygon**: Porygon is extremely bulky and easily takes attacks, while also using Ice Beam. Porygon can also choose to cripple Tropius with a potential Toxic or Thunderbolt paralysis.

**Water-types**: Without the power of Solar Beam under the sun, many Water-types can easily take hits from Tropius and dish out hits back with the common Ice Beam while also potentially just reversing the weather with Rain Dance. This is basically "Ice-type coverage". In reality, Tropius is among the best answers to Water-types in the metagame.

This section is very incomplete, and you're missing numerous Pokemon, especially for other Tropius sets.

Fire-types like Quilava and Ponyta are a powerful check to all Tropius sets, with the ability to OHKO offensive sets, which can often fail to OHKO them back with Earthquake without Attack investment,

Defensive and physically-oriented Tropius sets struggle to make much progress against certain walls such as Koffing.

Status tends to annoy most Tropius. Offensive sets are reliant on their Speed and enjoy using Tropius's great bulk to trade hits, while defensive ones hate being worn down when they're meant to wall stuff.

I would order these as Fire-types first, then certain physical walls, status, then Ice-types and Ice-type coverage. Yes Ice-type moves obliterate Tropius, but they aren't that common and are usually used solely to deal with Tropius.
