ADV vs FR&LG

Just curious if anyone knows from a competitive standpoint, if FR&LG can compete with Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald.

Like if I was to play Fire Red vs someone with Ruby, if I was at a disadvantage or on the same level.

Same level, same mechanics, same mons. This is because emerald came after frlg and rs.
