Aegislash (WIP)

Overview
########
  • Two Forms give it essentially a 720 BST (and you thought Arceus was supreme)
  • Relying on an ability to switch forms means that it can't have a negative ability
  • Is very versatile, as it can run a plethora of sets
  • With new Fairy type Ubers, Aegislash can be a useful check
  • Steel type nerd doesn't help its Ghost typing

I have uploaded an incomplete skeleton, so that I can go through the list one thing at a time and receive feedback from the community, much like my Electric Arceus analysis. However, I am more used to this sword in OU, so a few of my sets may be a bit off. For now, I appreciate any and all feedback I get on my current two sets.

SD set sucks.
Sdef doesn't
You want 252 HP/252 SDef with 4 in like Def or something
moves are KS/Gyro Ball/Toxic/Shadow Ball with Shadow Sneak and Flash Cannon mentioned under move details [shadow sneak for prio, flash cannon for fairyceus]
SD is OO at best.

I wouldn't use Flash Cannon for Fairyceus if Gyro Ball/Iron Head can do that anyway. CM Fairyceus can eventually boost to the point they don't do enough to be a problem. Toxic is better to take care of it, so

move 1: Kings Shield
move 2: Iron Head / Gyro Ball
move 3: Shadow Sneak
move 4: Toxic
ability: Stance Change
item: Leftovers
evs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 SpDef
nature: Sassy

imo

(Ignore the order of slashes and moves I just did this quick)

Gyro Ball>Iron Head

Support Fairyceus (most common sort) carry Will-o-wisp [which KS doesn't block] and that's why Flash Cannon deserves a mention

SD sucks balls and doesn't deserve anything more than OO. I probably wouldn't give Autotomize a set either since even with Shadow Ball's solid coverage it's too weak to really sweep all that well.

SDef should be first set:

Specially Defensive

name: Specially Defensive

move 2: Shadow Ball / Shadow Sneak

move 4: King's Shield

(I know dbz ninjad me but this should be the moves order)

This is the best set Aegislash can run in the metagame: it's the best Xerneas check in the game, a good Toxic staller with King's Shield, and it can also check Mewtwo formes decently. SBall is preferred since it does a fair number to most Grounds and M2X, but Sneak is better vs M2Y, helps finish off bulkier GeoXerns, and lets Aegislash check Deoxys-A pretty well.

I disagree with mentioning Flash Cannon as that makes Aegislash worse off against Xerneas and Arc-Fairy loses to Toxic regardless.

You could also try a more offensive set with Iron Head/Sneak/Head Smash/KS or Sacred Sword with max HP and Attack, it still checks Xerneas and M2 somewhat decently while being able to lure in and beat several of its common checks with Head Smash (Ho-Oh/Yveltal) or Sacred Sword if you run it (Heatran, EKiller looking to set up, etc). IDK if its worth its own set but it's worth trying

Also put HP Fire in OO since it lets Aegislash counter Scizor (Mega) and Ferrothorn pretty well.

I'm sorry but it's pretty clear that you aren't very experienced with this mon in ubers. I know it's still WIP but there's already been a few red flags like the SD and Automize sets so I want to save you the further trouble of putting this skeleton together and take it away now. I undersatnd you were hoping to have QC work with you on this but, unlike your electric Arceus analysis, you don't seem to have a minimum amount of understanding of how this mon works in the ubers metagame. Considering it's one that's fairly prominent, I suggest you take some time to get more familiar with this metagame before attempting to start another analysis. If you need some help diving in, feel free to ask me as I'm always willing to help. (may not always be available but I can work around that)
