XY OU Aeroffense.

Hi, welcome to my first RMT in which I'm going to show, by far, my best team in XY.

First thing that I have to say is that English isn't my language, so excuse me if I make a mistake.
Second thing: I hadn't played this team in ladder too much, only testing new things and I had almost 1850, but I've used this team so much in tours with fantastics results.
Third thing: I made this team when Aegis prowled in the OU metagame so yes, is an old team, but I've done many changes to adapt it to new metagame.

Teambuilding.

I chose Aerodactyl to make a team around him because he outspeeds many threats and can clean in every match and he's a good answer to flying spam in offense.
142.png

Skarmory and Ferrothorn walled my Aerodactyl and it was a problem, so I decided to include Magnezone, which can trap them and let Aerodactyl to sweep almost any team.
142.png
462.png

Using Aerodactyl I though I needed a defoger and Lati@s are the best defogers in offense in XY metagame. They stops ZardY, Landorus (except Knock Off) and Keldeo very well and with Draco spam can kill many mons. I chose Latias because I wanted more bulk.

Dragon-Steel-Fairy. Azumarill was a great choice. He allows me to stop Greninja, which is a pain in the ass to offense. In his time, when Aegislash was around him, I had no IVs in speed to kill him with Knock Off and he had Assault Vest but now I prefer Choice Band with more speed.
142.png

Breloom allows me to not be sweeped by ZardX, Pinsir and Talonflame (if I don't have Aerodactyl) or DDNite. He's a great lead, Spore gives me support to have free hits and he have a strong priority.

Finally, I needed a rocker and a ground type which would let me not be rektd by volturn cores. Landorus was my choice because he killed Aegislash and can set up rocks easily. Too stronk.

The team.

mega_aerodactyl_by_dashinghero-d6uwm8e.png

  • Ability: Unnerve -> Tough Claws
  • Item: Aerodactylite
  • EVs: 252 Atk / 20 Def / 236 Spe
  • Adamant Nature
  • Moveset:
Aerial Ace - He hasn't a better flying STAB so I had to chose that.
Stone Edge - Best rock STAB.
Crunch - Let me kill Lati@s and 2HKO things like Slowbro, which can't OHKO me (except offensive bro).
Earthquake - Aerodactyl outspeeds ScarfZone and ScarfTran and can kill them with EQ. It does damage to Tyranitar too.

Call me Antimeta-Mega. I must choose adamant nature because I couldn't kill things like Medicham or Keldeo with Aerial Ace (sad), so I can't outspeed things like MegaTric or MegaZam. Aerodactyl 2HKO most likely half metagame and OHKO another things, and with his type and defenses can resist some attacks non effectives very well (can 2HKO Landorus and Focus Blast never kill Aero unless crit). He's such an amazing late game cleaner and the rest of the team will prepare the situation for the cleaning.

pokemon-vector_00315297.png

  • Ability: Magnet Pull
  • Item: Choice Specs
  • EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpAtk 252 SpAtk / 4 SpDef / 252 Spd
  • Modest nature Timid nature
  • Moveset:
Thunderbolt - Best 100% accuracy STAB.
Volt Switch - Scout.
Flash Cannon - Second and powerful STAB.
Hidden Power Fire - Wasn't obvius?

I'll trap u with love. The perfect answer to deal with annoyings Ferrothorns, Skarmorys (fuck shed shell) and Scizor, which can beat my Aerodactyl with a CB Bullet Punch. I chose Choice Specs because I needed to OHKO those mons and then I change the nature and the EVs because there were Scizors which escapes with U-Turn. Flash Cannon allows me to 2HKO defensives Landorus-Therian and with my 239 speed I can trap adamant Bisharps and kill them with HP Fire. Magnezone is an answer to receive Dracos or Psyshocks of Lati@s. I love to predict with this machine.

latias_by_poketrainermanro-d6kx76a.png

  • Ability: Levitate
  • Item: Life Orb
  • EVs: 72 HP / 184 SpAtk / 252 Spd
  • Timid nature
  • Moveset:
Draco Meteor - Draco Spam when fairys and steels are out.
Psyshock - RIP MegaVenu, Amooguss, Keldeo,...
Roost - Safe recovery is safe.
Defog - No hazards.

Latias is my pivot and is my switch in for Keldeo, Rotom-W, Landorus, ZardY and other annoying mons. She's my status absorber too because she's the only mon which have recovery. She OHKOs things like Landorus, Greninja (I can live an Ice Beam), MegaTric and 2HKO Azumarill after rocks. Standard offense defoger, nothing more to say.

184azumarill1920x1080.jpg

  • Ability: Huge Power
  • Item: Assault Vest Choice Band
  • EVs: 160 HP / 252 Atk / 96 Spd
  • Adamant nature
  • Moveset:
Waterfall - Best water STAB.
Aqua Jet - Strong priority.
Play Rough - RIP dragons.
Knock Off - RIP items.

Boom. Azumarill is my switch in for Conkeldurr and Greninja, mons which can put me in a problem. He had AV before because idk, I felt more confortable using AV to deal better whith Thundurus or ZardY, but now I prefer Choice Band because it let me 2HKO things like Slowbro or CM Clefable, which is a threat and the reason I put Sludge Wave on Landorus (I changed it) and I gave 96 EVs to speed. If there are no burns with Scald, he's an answer to beat Keldeo and Slowbro in a 1vs1. Sadly, Latios can 2HKO me with Psyshock.

286breloom1600x1200.jpg

  • Ability: Technician
  • Item: Focus Sash
  • EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spd
  • Adamant nature Jolly nature
  • Moveset:
Mach Punch - Strong priority boosted by Technician.
Bullet Seed - Great STAB boosted by Technician too.
Rock Tomb - In a bad situation, it allows me to kill MegaPinsir and Talonflame.
Spore - Best grass move.

Go to sleep and don't sweep me. I love Breloom and I wanted to use him, yes. Loom is such an amazing lead and with his speed can put to sleep many mons, which let me hit for free. Many times this mon isn't my lead because I need to save his Sash so that I'm not going to be sweeped by Pinsir, ZardX and another boosters. I decided to run jolly nature over adamant because +2 Bisharp hits too hard and I needed a faster priority which can KO him.

landorus.jpg

  • Ability: Sheer Force
  • Item: Life Orb
  • EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpAtk / 252 Spd
  • Timid nature
  • Moveset:
Earth Power - Strongest STAB boosted by Sheer Force + Life Orb.
Psychic - It allows me to kill Amoonguss and Venusaur.
Sludge Wave Hidden Power Ice - Sludge Wave was an answer to CM Clefable before CB Azumarill. Now HP Ice let me beat Landorus-Therian, which is a common lead and annoying Gliscors.
Stealth Rocks - Rocks are necesary on every team.

One of the best mons in XY, every hit is a pain. He avoids my team be sweeped by a volturn team (disregard voltbeam) and set up rocks, which are a great support to the Aerodactyl's sweep. When defensive Lando-T began to be used more, I decided to use HP Ice over Sludge Wave because with this move I could OHKO him and I prevent rocks on my side. EVs, nature and item are standard shit.

Threats.
In offense, everything is dangerous, so I'm not going to say something about all the threats. I'm going to name only the biggests, the most commons and the most annoying threats.
113.png
+ Toxic / Thunder Wave. So annoying, only Breloom or Azumarill can beat that mon in 1vs1 and this fatty shit resists very well any other attack.
310.png
He have something to all of the members of my team. Only Latias can beat him and Breloom can survive a Flamethrower with Sash and KO him with Bullet Seed or Bullet Seed + Mach Punch at -1.
282.png
Azumarill and Aerodactyl resist one Hyper Voice and they can KO her with Waterfall and Stone Edge (if she hasn't EVs in defense).
214.png
Only Landorus is a switch in for this mon because he hasn't have anything which hit him super effective. Aerodactyl, Latias and Azumarill can OHKO him.
642.png
+ Thunder Wave. Prankster T-Wave can castrate my Aerodactyl but Latias can deal with it sometimes.

Hi there, nice team!

A few small tweaks:

Lucifer (Aerodactyl) @ Aerodactylite
Ability: Unnerve
EVs: 252 Atk / 20 Def / 236 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Roost
- Aerial Ace
- Stone Edge
- Hone Claws

I would drop Crunch from Mega Aero for Roost. It gives you more sustainability at the expense of some coverage. You have three other teammates (Breloom, Mangezone, Latias) that can all handle/weaken Slowbro to some degree. I would also drop Earthquake for Hone Claws. Earthquake is also somewhat unnecessary, Breloom and Azumarill are more than capable of taking TTar down. Hone Claws allows you to rip through teams with 100% accurate, +1 Stone Edges when the Rock resists are gone.

I would replace Landorus-I with SDef Heatran.

Heatran @ Leftovers
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 248 HP / 220 SpD / 40 Spe
Calm Nature
- Lava Plume
- Toxic / Flash Cannon / Taunt
- Earth Power
- Stealth Rock

This change is necessary in my opinion. Mega Manectric can tear through your team rather quickly, especially if Latias is worn down a little bit. Heatran takes down Mega Manectric with ease, while still keeping offensive presence and Rocks. It also gives you a Mega Gardevoir check, which you seem to be lacking. This is a more defensive look, you can add in more offensive moves if you feel as though you need it. Heatran is also well covered defensively, as your team has multiple Ground immunities, and Fighting and Water resistances.

Another change I might recommend is to replace Magnezone with Raikou.

Raikou @ Assault Vest
EVs: 252 SpA / 32 SpD / 224 Spe
Timid Nature
- Thunderbolt
- Volt Switch
- Hidden Power Ice
- Extrasensory

AV Raikou gives you a solid Magnezone check (alongside Heatran), and it also gives you a solid BirdSpam check. Trapping is unnecessary when Heatran and Raikou take out both common trapping targets (Ferro, Skarm) rather efficiently. Raikou can also help against Mega Manectric, Gengar, and Greninja, who your team appears to only have one solid check to each. AV Raikou is also a solid emergency check to almost every special attacker out there.

That's all I have, my changes may seem a little radical but I think they will help. The most important thing is to shore up the Mega Manectric weakness on your team. A Mega Manectric-Lando-T core could give you a lot of problems, and being able to shutdown half that core should give you an easier time against it.

Good luck with your team!

Hello. I think that Magnezone should run a Choice Scarf set because your only answer to flying spam is Aerodactyl, and if it is weakened + you have Stealth Rock on your side you would be in a bad position (you can't rely on Breloom either). The Scarf Zone + Aqua Jet Azumarill combo can also beat Thundurus. Magnezone also outspeeds many relevant threats such as Gengar, terrakion, Keldeo, Lati@s and hurt them decently before it dies. Yes, you lose a lot of power, but you should focus on Aerodactyl as your main win condition (you can still OHKO offensive Scizor and 2HKO Ferrothorn with HP fire). Magnezone is just a supporter (traps the problematic steel types and revenge kills certain threats). This change would make you a little bit weaker to Clefable, but you still have Flash Cannon + CB Azumarill to wear it down.

Thanks for your opinion. I'tll try ScarfZone over Specs. I'd like to OHKO Ferrothorn and Scizor (and his mega) but it's true that Choice Scarf could help me more.

I'm not going to change my Aerodactyl's set because his coverage helps me so much. I have switch ins for Heatran but with EQ I don't risk a possible Lava Plume burn, and Crunch allows me to OHKO Gengar, Latias, 2HKO Slowbro and other stuff. The only thing that I could try in Aerodactyl is Ice Fang to deal better with Landorus-Therian and Garchomp.
Yeah, Manectric is a problem, but with my two strong priorities on Azumarill and Breloom I can deal with it (not easily). I don't want to put a deffensive mon or pivots to resist half metagame when I can revenge kill so many things with any member of the actual team.
Thanks for your opinion but I don't think it's a great idea for a pure offensive team.
