Eternatus @ Expert Belt
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 152 SpA / 224 SpD / 132 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Draco Meteor
- Flamethrower
- Sludge Bomb
- Recover

Expert Belt Eternatus makes its splash in AG as a fast and powerful wallbreaker. With three attacks, it can hit nearly everything in the metagame for massive damage, notably OHKOing opposing Eternatus with Draco Meteor. Flamethrower threatens to 2HKO Necrozma-DM, at a minimum forcing it to to use its limited Morning Sun. The Speed investment gets past the base 100s and Yveltal, which Eternatus forces out. The Special Defense investment allows it to pivot into opposing Kyogre and opposing bulky Eternatus more comfortably. This Eternatus set is best on teams that are comfortable against Kyogre, offensive Yveltal, Ho-Oh, and Blissey but need some more offensive presence. Zacian-C is a particularly good partner, since it greatly appreciates Eternatus luring in Necrozma-DM. It additionally helps Eternatus check offensive Yveltal, as well as forcing out Kyogre and pressure a shared check in Ho-Oh. Calm Mind + Roar Kyogre patches up this set's inability to check opposing Calm Mind Kyogre and Cosmic Power Eternatus.

Expert Belt Eternatus makes its splash in the AG tier as a fast and powerful breaker. Draco Meteor, Sludge Bomb and Flamethrower hit nearly everything in the metagame and for massive amounts of damage, notably being able to OHKO opposing Eternatus with Draco Meteor and threatening to 2HKOing Necrozma-DM with a powerful Flamethrower, at a minimum forcing it to use its limited Morning Sun PP. The speed investment allows it to outspeed the base 100 speed tier; notably edging out Yveltal and threatening it out the emphasis should moreso be on the fact that it ensures etern doesn't lose taunt yve imo. The SpDef investment allows it to pivot into opposing Kyogre and opposing bulky Eternatus more comfortably switchin to opposing Kyogre a bit, while not very comfortably as it still is a tricky matchup, which Eternatus otherwise should be relatively fine against this is rather clunky and unclear. what one should do vs kyogre afterwards is too complicated for a short analysis so better not to mention it. This Eternatus set is best used on teams that are comfortable against Kyogre, offensive Yveltal, Blissey, SpDef Yveltal and Ho-oh, and Blissey re-ordered based on relevance. spdef yve is threatened by potential sbomb poisons, which is scary if caly is a partner to etern, should mention later while needing the offensive presence that Eternatus brings. Zacian-C + Necrozma-DM + Specially Defensive Yveltal is an example of such a team. appreciating dm + yve kinda applies to every mon in the format lol, idt worth a mention in a short analysis Zacian-C in particular is important as a particularly good partner due to Necrozma-DM being lured in by Eternatus, which it greatly appreciates. It additionally helps Eternatus check against the aforementioned offensive Yveltal, as well as threaten out Kyogre and pressure a shared check in Ho-oh. mention caly's presence as a partner with ebelt etern pressuring spdef yve/bulky ho-oh here. can also note cm + roar kyogre patches up ebelt etern's inability to check opposing cm kyogre (and cosmic power etern), and appreciates etern's ability to force out opposing eternatus & wallbreak. if you don't have enough room you don't need to do this though
