Other [AG] Swag

.....o0o..... [Introduction] .....o0o.....

One of the teams I have been having a lot of success with is my Klefki based team. I want to post it here to get some ideas and make it even better.

I have +125 games played in AG so far, currently ranked 125 in the ladder with my main account and 150 with my secondary account.

Suggestions are welcome :)

Klefki @ Leftovers
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 200 HP / 252 Def / 56 Spe
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Swagger
- Thunder Wave
- Substitute
- Foul Play

First Klefki, the deffensive one. Standar moveset. Minimum attack to reduce the damage from the omnipresent Foul Play and Confusion. 200 HP for the higgest magic leftover number, max Def and rest in Spe for other Klefki who dont max Spe.

Most MegaRay cant 1HKO with EQ (only LifeOrb Adamant MegaRay can but most MegaRay use either Jolly or LumBerry). Life Orb Adamant Arceus cant 1HKO with EQ. Enemy Klefki cant break sub even at +6 with Foul Play, he needs 5 attacks to break it at +0. Etc. Imo its always good to have a defensive one.

Klefki @ Leftovers
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 200 HP / 252 SpD / 56 Spe
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Swagger
- Thunder Wave
- Substitute
- Foul Play

Second Klefki, the specially deffensive one. Standar moveset, minimum attack, 200 HP for the higgest magic leftover number, max SpD and rest in Spe.

He cant be 1HKO by most special attackers, so this version has an easier time set up on them rather than the max Def or Spe versions. For example, Darkrai goes from ensured Substitute break to 2 hits needed to break Substitute, which is awesome. However, I feel like I have too many Klefkis and I rarely see SpA offensive mons that I could set up on, so if I find something good to play here Im gonna swap him for that.

Klefki @ Leftovers
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 200 HP / 56 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Swagger
- Thunder Wave
- Substitute
- Flash Cannon

Third Klefki, the fast one. Minimum attack to reduce Foul Play and Confusion damage. 200 HP for the higgest magic leftover number, max Speed for the mirror match. The remaining EV in SpA to make sure Flash Cannon breaks opponent Klefki's Substitute.

Basically, he is the best Klefki to face other Klefkis. Having the fastest Substitute or Swagger can be the difference between winning and losing the game. Also, Thundurus cant outspeed unless he invest at last 64 EVs into Spe which some people dont.

I went for Flash Cannon because having access to a strong stab move is good when you want to wear down counters. Specially mons who go Max HP/Def 0 Atk IVs. It is also the only move that can break Klefki's Substitute without investment (other than Hidden Power, obviously). Finally, he can 1HKO Mega Diance (unless 252 HP/SpD), which is a big plus.

Klefki @ Leftovers
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 200 HP / 252 SpA / 56 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Swagger
- Thunder Wave
- Substitute
- Play Rough

Fourth Klefki, the offensive one. 200 HP for the higgest magic leftover number, max Atk and rest in Spe.

I have tried most Klefkis variants, I found that Play Rough is the most consistent to deal with certain Klefki counters such as MegaSableye, Blissey, Espeon, Xatu, etc. Play Rough is better than Dazzling Gleam because PR its a 1HKO against Darkrai and 2HKO against Leftoevers Thundurus (DG is 2HKO on Darkrai and 3HKO on non Leftovers Thundurus).

The Blob (Ditto) @ Focus Sash
Ability: Imposter
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
IVs: 30 SpD (Hidden Power Steel)
- Transform

My next pokemon is Ditto. He is both part of the win condition aswell as a counter for certain threats. Whenever I Swagger an offensive pokemon and he KOs the Klefki under Confusion I send Ditto, copy the offensive threat and attempt to sweep with him. He also checks two of my counters: Most MegaDiance have HP on their arsenal, I can 1HKO offensive MegaDiance with my Steel HP and 2HKO the deffensive variant. He is also good vs Moody and Baton Pass chains because once I break a Sub I can switch into him and copy their stats, even if they Sub in that turn.

The omnipresent Primal Groudon is the perfect example: Since I cant TWave him I like to spam Swagger/Substitute until either he switches (with me behind a Sub), he dies or he kills the Klefki. If the later happens, I send Ditto, copy his +2/4/6 Atk and go for a sweep. Odds are I will KO him without using the Sash 3 every 4 tries (factoring confusion). Worst case scenario, I get Sashed and KO him back.

I like Sash because it works as a pseudo Scarf but doesnt lock me into a move. PrimalGroudon and MegaRay are perfect examples of offensive sweepers that cant sweep when choice locked. However, after some intensive testing Im not 100% sold on Sash. I will test LumBerry, to see what works better.

Cleric (Blissey) (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 24 HP / 252 Def / 232 SpA
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Hyper Voice
- Flamethrower
- Soft-Boiled
- Psych Up

My last pokemon is Blissey. She is there to improve my machup vs mirror match and to have a reliable check for Moody and Baton Pass teams. Vs other stuff she is a bulky mon that can put some damage on some counters to wear them down so I can finish them with Ditto/PlayRough/FoulPlay (For example, Thundurus, Numel, etc). She also shits on Xerneas.

24 HP brings her to the closest magic leftover number. Minimum Atk and Max Def because +6 Foul Play does 7.1-8.5% so Swag/TWave/Sub/FoulPlay Klefki cant touch her. Rest of EVs goes into SpA so Klefki becomes a 2HKO rather than a 3HKO. Natural Cure is nice because if I switch her they need to TWave again. Its also good vs Darkrai, random Toxic users, MegaSableye's WoW, etc.

Flamethrower/Soft-Boiled is needed to take down Klefki for free. The other 2 moveslots are there to counter BatonPass/Moody teams. I can take all their boost with PsychUp (works vs Sub and Protect) and sweep them with Hyper Voice. Hyper Voice is very important because, not only is one of her strongest moves, but it also hits under Sub, and thats way to important when facing Moody/BatonPass.

A mirror match vs TFL498405 who was 4th in the Ladder at that moment.
