This thread serves to list every viable Tera option for every viable Pokemon in AG. Pokemon are arranged by their rank in the viability rankings, divided into sets (if their Teras are different enough) with the most relevant Tera option being listed first and so on. If you notice a Tera type being missing or one being out of place, please feel free to post in the thread.

Tera types underlined are particularly notable in the metagame.

I would like to suggest a change in the order of tera types for Dragon Dance Arceus-Ground. Seeing as it covers both bulky DD and HO, I think it should be Fire | Ghost | Fairy | Ground. I think Tera Fire needs no explanation, as it is already listed as first, and it is hugely beneficial to both bulky and HO sets for Arceus-Ground simply because of the burn absorptions. It does so much more too, but we don’t have to get into that.

Tera Ghost on DD Arceus-Ground is something that is more specific to just HO versions, and should overall be second simply because of how prominent it is. It is, to me, the go-to Tera type for Arceus-Ground on HO teams because of how it enables Arceus-Ground to setup and sweep. Most importantly, it gives Arceus-Ground an Extreme Speed immunity, which allows it to take out a key opponent in Arceus-Normal, or simply become an unstoppable sweeper. It also provides an important Low Kick immunity as well. From what I’ve seen, Tera Ghost is the typing that sees the most usage in tournament play.


Tera Fairy is also an excellent Tera type for both bulky and HO sets. It allows Arceus-Ground to very notably take a Draco Meteor from Miraidon and setup, take an Outrage or Low Kick from Koraidon and setup, and even out-setup SD Koraidon by clicking Tera Fairy on the Scale Shot. It is also extremely good into defensive Arceus forms when coupled with taunt. With this, it can become a very good mid/late sweeper (relative to as good as Arceus-Ground can be). Seeing as Koraidon and Miraidon are both very metagame-relevant pokemon, I would say that the Tera Fairy typing is thereby metagame-relevant as well. I would include replays, but I already went hunting for the Tera Ghost ones and this would be more tedious. Hopefully this explanation gets the point across pretty clearly.

Finally, Tera Ground. I will be honest, I do not think I have even seen it get tournament play. I’m not sure what even makes it “metagame-relevant”, as it does not cover any weakness, or provide any notable damage boosts. At +2, which would be at the point Arceus-Ground can outspeed the entire metagame, Tera Ground still does not OHKO defensive Arceus forms. It does guarantee an OHKO on Arceus-Normal, but at that point just use Tera Ghost and setup again. Tera Ground does help reach certain benchmarks at +1, but between getting revenge killed by Scarf Koraidon or Arceus-Normal and still not being able to take down defensive Arceus forms, it seems not worth spending your Tera on it.

While I’m here, I also do want to say that I think :Ditto: should have Tera Ghost underlined because it is squishy and the Extreme Speed immunity for the ultimate reverse sweeper is kinda huge.
