Aggro Ubers: INNOV@TION (SubPetaya Deoxys)

Yeah, I've been sorta lacking in my RMTs lately. I've been so, so busy, and today in particular seemed like an extraordinarily weird day.

So I guess I'll do Ubers this time. I already did one, but it was closed for putting too many up at once. That's ok, I just did that one to let people know I am relentless when it comes to inappropiate clauses (Soul Dew and Sleep, sometimes Extended, in particular).

Ok, let's get cracking here, my first real Ubers RMT. This team is actually relatively new, only made last week of typing of this article. However, it displayed extremely promising potential from all the games it has played thus far. Paralysis is more spammable than I thought.

Cherish Ball set-Warp, GREENONION: Flying Cabbage!

Ani251MS.png

Leftovers
Natural Cure
252 HP/128 Def/128 Special Def
Calm (+Special Def, -Attack)
Stealth Rock
Grass Knot
Recover
Thunder Wave

Celery here is a fantastic lead in Ubers. It is able to take a good deal of hits, deploy hazards, and most importantly of all, spam Thunder Wave. STAB Grass Knot is always nice. As for Recover, the ironic thing is that Celebi usually gets away unscathed in the first few rounds.

Oh yeah, and Celebi loves the Rain, of course.

Premier Bell set-Annihilate, ASSAILANTACID: The A in DNAS!

premiergc1.png

Petaya Berry
Pressure
4 Attack/252 Speed/252 Special Attack (30 HP Iv, 29 Def IV)
Hasty (+Speed, -Def)
Substitute
Thunder
Ice Beam
Superpower

The main INNOV@TION of the team, when I feel it is safe to do so, I set up alter-ego shields and demolish with what I can with one of three attacks. If Substitute has been used three times, Deoxys consumes its drug, giving it the power of Choice Specs yet still retaining the freedom like a Life Orb. Do you understand? This is a scary prospect that's not hard to manuever at all.

Great Ball set-Mach massacre, SANDSHARK: Speed Savage!

greatpa2.png

Haban Berry
Sand Veil
4 HP/252 Attack/252 Speed
Jolly (+Speed, -Special Attack)
Swords Dance
Dragon Claw
Earthquake
Stone Edge

At first, I considered Dugtrio for the spot as Electric immunity due to its Arena Trap, but the Attack was intolerable, even with Choice Band. Garchomp, however, seemed like a promising option. Garchomp, too, is blessed with mach speed. Lack of Arena Trap is comforted with usage of Swords Dance, and Sand Veil isn't too shabby, either. Finally, Haban is here because it would really make my day to leave opposing Latias and Garchomp in tatters. This Garchomp also has the potential to OHKO Lugia, which is always nice to do.

Ultra Ball set-Wave, ATOMFIELD: Electromagnetic Frequency!

ultrart4.png

Choice Specs
Magnet Pull
4 Attack/252 Speed/252 Special Attack (30 Attack and Def IV)
Modest (+Special Attack, -Attack)
Thunder
Explosion
Hidden Ice Power
Signal Beam

Um, 130 Base Special Attack, Choice Specs, STAB 120 power Electricity...oh dear. I guess Magnezone is sluggish, but like Celebi, it can easily spread some Paralysis around, benefiting both Magnezone and Deoxys. I have considered Origin Giratina, but I really need the Magnet Pull, so maybe I should use it over Garchomp? I might use Calm Mind, but I could really use a Physical sweeper. The typing would be incredibly useful, but it will have the burden of sharing Ghost/Dark weakness with Celebi and Deoxys (the former is weak to anything, though). Finally, Giratina would take a strong Paralysis chance from Thunder Wave or Thunder.

Dive Ball set-Ripple, OCEANLORD: Bringer of the Acid Rain!

divern3.png

Leftovers
Drizzle
116 HP/140 Speed/252 Special Attack
Modest (+Special Attack, -Attack)
Thunder
Sleep Talk
Surf
Ice Beam

I just really wanted a basic Kyogre. I just need it to Rain, that is all, nothing much else. Just dishing out hits (and Paralysis) with the great coverage that is Water-Electric-Ice. Sleep Talk eases the fact I use this fellow to take Dark Void. Also, if things go right, my opponent just might be cocky enough to "assume" I'm running Choice or Rest (but that's sorta blown the second I post this thread).

Repeat Ball set-Whip, BULLETSPIN: Inclined Flurry!

repeatsp7.png

Leftovers
Intimidate
252 HP/252 Attack/4 Special Def
Adamant (+Attack, -Special Attack)
Rapid Spin
Low Kick
Foresight
Stone Edge

My Spinner of choice, backed up with Foresight so that I can bypass Ghosts. It is vital Hazards are not out for Deoxys' Substituting to be flawless. It would also be nice if I could rid of Toxic Spikes.
Aside from that, I have some Low Kicking goodness, great for its STAB coverage in Ubers. Most notably, it will utterly destroy Dialga, Darkrai, and Tyranitar. The main reason for Stone Edge is for Shedinja, and Lugia and Ho-oh, I guess, as well as great coverage with Fighting.
For Shedinja, Pursuit and Sucker Punch are both great, but in general, Stone Edge would prove more efficient.

Threats
Well, priority causes a good deal of chaos against this team, which is quite rather bent on spreading Paralysis. Scizor spams U-turn often, which makes it difficult for Magnezone to effectively scramble it. And Shedinja will also be incredibly annoying. The best way for me to defeat it is Celebi's Stealth Rock. Due to my lack of a Ghost (Origin Giratina?), it is easily cleared, however. Garchomp and Hitmontop have Stone Edge, but it won't always hit and I will usually get met with Burn or Poison in the process.

Other than that, I can see Scarfers doing some damage if I cannot get the Paralysis down on them. Hitmontop eases the pain, being able to survive just about any non-boosted attack and striking back with a heavy Low Kick.

I am on Shoddy Battle: Smogon server every day, most of the time.

Philosophy: I don't abuse drugs. I wouldn't poison myself even if it costs me my life, using something so horrible. No, no, I'm not ready to die just yet. And I wouldn't want it to end this way, either.

Proclamation Speech
The contents of this faux speech are humorous and should not be taken seriously. However, the gist of it, that not enough authority is established, should be taken into account.

This is my proclamation speech on why you should elect me, P-PIt, as Mod of the Shoddy of Battle.

Firstly, I have studied at Smogon University for a long time now. I have more than enough community service hours by introducing the program to both newbies of Shoddy and battling in general. I have experience in Modding in another (rather insignificant) server.

I have been here nearly a year, leaving no day missed. Many will agree they see me here just about whenever they log in.

There are way too many times where I see the Main Chat go unmodded as it runs with barbarians. With me, I guarantee there will always be an unbiased guardian angel, watchful eye, and a voice of kindness and reason whenever you need one; other than that I finally get more use out of the "Away" tab.

I also promise to restock the Shoddy vending machines and clear the Shoddy Pool reguarly.

I am the founder of Project F@IL (Gym Leader Challenge) and Project INNOV@TION. I also have arguably the coolest user name here.

If you elect me for the Disunited Shoddy of Battle, I promise to uphold my position as Mod and I, Philosophical-Psychological Informant Togekiss the First, solemnly swear to use my powers within their rightful limits.

Plus, my name would look really cool in blue tint and it would help people who would need to contact me than scolling down to the "P" section of the Users' Tab. I would be the only Mod who would regularly accept Challenges. I would also be the youngest Mod ever elected to the Council.

I am known by many names, but no matter who I may be, I am someone you can trust.

*stands on pedestal* When I grow up, I want to rule the world. Thank you for listening. Now if you'll excuse me, I need to go work on my acceptance speech. Bwa-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha.

I really like the idea of a sub-petaya Deoxys-A. I'm just wondering what made you choose special over physical, considering that it has access to extremespeed?

I agree with hugendugen about your deoxys, but I'm sort of iffy about Hitmontop. :0 If you had a Ho-oh or something that really wants those Rocks removed, I'd understand, but it doesn't seem like his spinning services are really doing your team a huge favor (no one is weak to it, and you even have a couple of resists. Or is it Spikes you're worried about?). If you want to run Giratina, I'd suggest doing it over Hitmontop.

Also, the Pokeball-matching thing is really cool. xP I try to do that with my in-game Pokes as well. xD

SubLiechi for an 80 Power Priority, huh? Well, the team is based on spreading Paralysis, and the other half is bent on destroying other Priority users. And you know, in the end, Deoxys' own Thunder is really powerful with Ice Beam for backup.

Also, Garchomp is the main Physical sweeper. Plus, Deoxys' Superpower isn't so bad (though it will be unable to OHKO a maximum HP Dialga).

As mentioned, Toxic Spikes would be really icky for this team. Hazards may also mess up Deoxys' Substituting business.
Finally, Hitmontop is the best mixed defending Rapid Spinner and can land powerful hits otherwise. It also causes Deoxys leads a good deal of pain.

The Poke Balls and catchphrases, yeah, that's just for show. They have a really nice effect when you catch stuff with PokeSav, but if you're finicky about connecting the Monster Ball to Egg moves and such, your opponent can use that to an advantage, but oh well.

If you say so; you know your own team better than I do, of course. It's just my observation that Top seems the most easily replaceable if you want Giratina. :0

True, but it's not like it really matters when it comes to Legendary / genderless Pokemon, right? And Garchomp doesn't really get any egg moves that people will use on a regular basis (bar Outrage, but you can get that with the Plat move tutor too).

Well, the Balls are just for show, for the "theme" of the Pokemon it holds. Really finicky people (like I do) match the appropiate Ball to Egg moves and finicky opponents utilize that to their advantage.
Of course, that does not matter at all at Shoddy or at PokeSav.

We're straying off topic.
