"Coquí is the common name for several species of small frogs in the Eleutherodactylus genus that are endemic to the island of Puerto Rico". They are beautiful little frogs that serenade Puerto Rico as night falls. I see my people aspiration to adapt in circumstances beyond reasonable control in Greninja. Fast thinking hard hitting, a true metaphor and allegory to the people's spirit if I had ever seen one. This my fellow trainers is the inspiration for my team. I built a FWG core around my favorite pokemon Greninja and then Added other pokemon as necessary tech to battle my way across this new and harsh meta. We hit hard and we take hard hits.
Blissey (F) @ Leftovers I've always used a variation of Cleric Bliss, this one is pretty standard, glad I finally made a team that fits her in :)
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 Def / 252 HP / 4 SDef
Bold Nature
- Wish- This move prolongs my whole team's durability by serving as an adequate recovery. No one is a more effective wish passer in this game than good ol bliss
- Protect- To ensure that Blissey gets guaranteed auto-recovery, plus scouting
- Heal Bell- Poisoned walls and burned physical sweepers serve no good, Heal bell is here to ensure their efficiency
- Seismic Toss- Honestly I just pick this move because its pretty standard but have long considered changing it for Shadowball so ghosts don't come in to party on my ass. Too lazy to think of a good spread for that change but this works just fine just a theory.
Greninja @ Life Orb My favorite Pokemon ever, A coqui ninja from my home in Puerto Rico. He's a metaphor in every single way.
Ability: Protean
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 SAtk / 4 Atk
Hasty Nature
- Surf- Not much to elaborate here.
- U-turn- Greninja forces many switches, predict them and keep offensive momentum with U-turn
- Ice Beam- For Grass and Dragon Pokemon mainly.
- Dark Pulse- If you think he's gonna switch but you don't know exactly into what, dark pulse is a pretty amazing answer ever since steel defensive nerf. Very few types resists it so the switch-ins are hella predictable.
Talonflame @ Sharp Beak Second Favorite new pokemon, absolute ace in the pocket, no one revenge kills better than this guy. Well maybe Greninja but I'm biased there.
Ability: Gale Wings
EVs: 180 HP / 252 Atk / 76 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Roost- Priority Recovery? Legendary
- Flare Blitz- Hits hard yo.
- Brave Bird- Hits hard AND fast yo.
- Swords Dance- Because you don't want their frienship, you want their blood.
Gourgeist-Super @ Leftovers The glue that holds down my FGW core. He's such a royal pain, I love him <3
Ability: Frisk (Most underated ability in this meta, Knowing with absolute certainty what item your opponent posses can help simplify your offence and defense.)
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 Atk
Impish Nature
- Protect- Lefties Recovery and general Stall ness
- Will-O-Wisp- Make physical sweepers irrelevant due to stat drop
- Leech Seed- Additional recovery and switch in buffer
- Seed Bomb- Stab move, works better than you think, never forget this option, don't be lazy and run calcs when you think their gonna make a stupid switch, hits harder than you think.
Tyranitar @ Tyranitarite (He absolutely wrecks shit after one dance)
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 Atk / 4 HP
Adamant Nature
- Crunch- Best Dark Stab move, go to attack
- Earthquake- Great move, good coverage
- Stone Edge- Hardest hitting stab move (DO NOT USE UNLESS YOU HAVE TO, POKEMON WILL HAPPEN).
- Dragon Dance- a single dance speed hits 397 (if I remember correctly) i don't even know attack its just super duper really high, this guy is insane.
Gliscor @ Leftovers -he can set up rocks and he has defog, if he had toxic heal he'd be perfect but you can't defog and toxic heal :(, Defog is essential for meta regardless so, whatever.
Ability: Sand Veil
EVs: 184 Def / 4 HP / 72 Spd
Impish Nature
- Defog- The only reason I use him.
- Roost- Best recovery
- Earthquake- I was debating just putting toxic in this slot but I prefer to have an attack option
- Stealth Rock- Best move in the game.
I'm open for any recommendations, especially alternate EV spreads or a better mon' than Gliscor. Let me know what you think and thank you for your time!
