Aladurr

Introduction
Hey guys, welcome to my RMT.

I originally wanted to build a team around the duo Conkeldurr and Reuniclus, two slow but powerful and bulky sweepers. I didn't like the idea of using trick room as it would severely limit the number of pokemon I was able to use. After some testing, I found that being slow is a real handicap in the current metagame. I therefore switched Reuniclus with Alakazam, now forming Team Aladurr.

Teambuilding Process

Conkeldurr and Reuniclus formed the original core. I chose this core because neither really care about status and they cover each other pretty well.

I needed something to tank Hurricanes and Shadow Balls and that can also threaten the users. A Bulky metagross can take those hits pretty well, put up stealth rocks and then proceed to hurt stuff with STAB Meteor Mash. He's also a decent revenger with Bullet Punch.

Gliscor could wall Metagross and Conkeldurr too well, so I decided I needed a lure. In comes Mienshao. A very good scout with Regenerator and HP Ice to kill Gliscor and Landorus(-t).

Thundurus-T is a beast. STAB Thunderbolt will hurt everything except ground types. Make it look fabulous with a Scarf and it is sure to kill things.

I needed something to support the team in the last slot. Vaporeon was an option for wishpassing and phazing, but sun teams would wreck me. I then tried Latias, as she could tank those pretty well and still pass wishes. But I would have three psychic types with U-turn so prominent in the metagame. So I went with Dragonite. He's a parashuffler and a special tank against sun teams. He tanks well but I'm still thinking on what to give him as I don't feel parashuffling is doing that much...

Finally, I really thought the team was too slow. Reuniclus would get raped by U-turns and Crunches before it could even kill something. Switching constantly just because of that fear was no good. So now I have Alakazam: Fast, Powerfull and awesome coverage. He also dies very quick, but at least he outspeeds practically all non-boosted meta.

In-Depth

620.gif

Mienshao (M) @ Life Orb
Trait: Regenerator
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SAtk / 252 Spd
Naive Nature (+Spd, -SDef)
- Fake Out
- U-turn
- Hi Jump Kick
- Hidden Power [Ice]

My scout and Gliscor lure. 105 Base speed and naive nature makes sure she outspeeds a lot of threats. Fake out is nice to break lead sashes, but I am considering changing it to Stone Edge to better deal with Gyarados.

376.gif

Metagross @ Leftovers
Trait: Clear Body
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Stealth Rock
- Meteor Mash
- Hammer Arm
- Bullet Punch

This guy has been an awesome defensive pivot. He takes on Outrages and Draco Meteors like a boss. His Meteor Mash does threaten a decent amount of frail sweepers so I can usually set up rocks. Bullet Punch is a good revenge move. Hammer Arm for coverage.

I am however in doubt here: Primarily I had hoped to tank Hurricanes from Specs Tornadus-T. Although it doesn't OHKO me like all the other pokes, it is still a solid 2HKO, doing 64.56% - 76.24% of damage. I am therefore inclined to go to Jirachi, Although I don't like him, because he would take it better. I would love some ideas on this.

Thundurus (Thundurus-T) (M) @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Volt Absorb
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Thunder
- Thunderbolt
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Focus Blast

Another great revenger. Thunderbolt and HP Ice is the infamous BoltBeam with Focus Blast rounding off the coverage. In the last slot, I'm doubting between grass knot and Thunder. Thunder is great when the opponent has rain but I am walled by Gastrodon. But as I see it, Alakazam can switch in on defensive gastrodon, take the toxic and OHKO with Energy Ball. That is why I have now taken Thunder for that slot, but it's definitely open for debate.

149.gif

Dragonite (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Multiscale
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SDef
Careful Nature (+SDef, -SAtk)
- Substitute
- Roost
- Thunder Wave
- Dragon Tail

The standard Parashuffling set and my main counter to sun teams. This spot in particular is heavily open for debate as I don't feel it's really useful.

534.gif

Conkeldurr (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Guts
EVs: 120 HP / 252 Atk / 136 SDef
Brave Nature (+Atk, -Spd)
- Bulk Up
- Drain Punch
- Ice Punch
- Mach Punch

Part 1 of the core. This guy is a beast. When I see forretress set up one layer of toxic spikes, I immediately switch this guy in for the guts boost. I then have a Mach Punch from a Conkeldurr with a Choice Band...

Ice Punch is to deal with flying types and dragons. This set is pretty much how I think it would be.

065.gif

Alakazam (F) @ Life Orb
Trait: Magic Guard
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Psyshock
- Shadow Ball
- Energy Ball
- Focus Blast

Part 2 of the core. He has awesome coverage and is superfast. Psyshock is to not be walled by the pink blobs Blissey and Chansey. Shadow Ball is good coverage, taking on Gengar and the Lati@s. Energy Ball is for Gastrodon, while Focus Blast is good for Dark Types and it 2HKO Scizor.[/HIDE]

So yeah... That's about it. Let me know what you guys think. I really want to make this team do better. With your help, I know I can.

Thanks and happy battling!

Landorus. Behind a sub, or a with a scarf, can sevearly hurt you, only not hittin Zam for SE, but he is so frail so he will be 2HKO'd by lando. Id suggest swappin meinshao for genesect. A scarf genesect with u turn, ice beam, flamethrower, and giga drain (this gives you a solution to rain teams, gastrodon, and lando, and you lose nothing coverage wise as your team covers everything)
Ino its a short rate, but i hope it helps.
Id run
Genesect
Choice Scarf
+SpAttack, -SpDe
(252 Spe, 56 Attack, 200 SpAttack)
-U- Turn
-Giga Drain
-Ice Beam
-Flamethrower
Hope this helps!

Thank you for the rate. I must agree that scarf genesect is working out better than Mienshao. It helped a lot.

I read in another thread that specially defensive Rotom-W is also a good check against weather teams, so I'm testing that out instead of Dragonite.

Here's that set.

Rotom (Rotom-W) @ Chesto Berry
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 220 SDef / 36 Spd
Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Hydro Pump
- Volt Switch
- Rest
- Will-O-Wisp

i agree with SpoeMeister(Whatever that name means) about Rotom-W. Paralyze Dragonite hasnt been used for a long time for a reason, one ice move with STAB OHKOs Dragonite, even with Multiscale. I like the unique idea of Thundurus not needing grass knot because of Alakazam, but since you use Conkeldurr, mabye a trick room Reuniclus could make this into a part trick room team. just dont give Reuniclus, Metagross, Rotom-W, and Conkeldurr any speed, and let Thundurus and Mienshoa keep there speed for when trick room isnt up/ you dont want to set up trick room. if you do this, Reuniclus wont have room for energy ball, so just give Thundurus Grass Knot.

Hello guy, I think this is a nice team! At first of all, your team seems weak to Tornadus-T, in fact you haven't a switch-in for it. I'd use Special Defensive Jirachi in place of your current Jirachi. It can easily block Tornadus-T, and it gives you a solid wish support. Also, Substitute in place of Energy ball, seems a good idea for your Alakazam, especially in this team.

Set:
Jirachi:

Jirachi @ Leftovers
Trait: Serene Grace
EVs: 252 HP / 224 SDef / 32 Spd
Careful Nature (+SDef, -SAtk)
- Stealth Rock
- Body Slam
- Wish
- Iron Head

Hope I helped, good luck!

- Meteor Mash
- Hammer Arm
- Bullet Punch

Thundurus (Thundurus-T) (M) @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Volt Absorb
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Thunder
- Thunderbolt
- Hidden Power [Ice]

Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Psyshock
- Shadow Ball
- Energy Ball
- Focus Blast

Genesect has helped a lot. Since he has the giga drain, I can now swap energy ball on Alakazam for something more useful, because Energy Ball was usually not really necessary. I will definitely try substitute on Alakazam.

@Keramory: I'm no longer using Reuniclus because of the lack of speed. I didn't really want to rely on trick room because of its low duration. Having only one user on the team is also not beneficial, especially because Conkelldurr needs to set up first. He usually can do this without having to be faster, so there's no need for trick room.

@Alexander: Tornadus-T has been difficult to deal with, but now I have specially defensive rotom, which has helped a lot with tanking those hurricanes. In the end, I can easily revenge kill it with my two scarfers, genesect and thundurs-T.

Thanks again for the rate guys. I am now thinking of adding a defensive core of Jirachi and Rotom-W. They both cancel each others weaknesses pretty nicely, and they both can learn U-turn and Volt Switch respectively to maintain momentum.

The team would look like this:

Genesect @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Download
EVs: 56 Atk / 200 SAtk / 252 Spd
Rash Nature (+SAtk, -SDef)
- U-turn
- Giga Drain
- Ice Beam
- Flamethrower

Jirachi @ Leftovers
Trait: Serene Grace
EVs: 252 HP / 224 SDef / 32 Spd
Careful Nature (+SDef, -SAtk)
- Wish
- U-turn
- Stealth Rock
- Body Slam

Thundurus (Thundurus-T) (M) @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Volt Absorb
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Thunder
- Thunderbolt
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Focus Blast

Rotom (Rotom-W) @ Leftovers
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 220 Def / 36 Spd
Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Hydro Pump
- Volt Switch
- Pain Split
- Will-O-Wisp

Conkeldurr (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Guts
EVs: 120 HP / 252 Atk / 136 SDef
Brave Nature (+Atk, -Spd)
- Bulk Up
- Drain Punch
- Ice Punch
- Mach Punch

Alakazam (F) @ Life Orb
Trait: Magic Guard
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Psyshock
- Shadow Ball
- Substitute
- Focus Blast

Tell me what you guys think. I like the synergy between Jirachi and Rotom-W and I especially like that I now have Wish and a way to protect Alakazam from being revenge killed easily...
