MoonSim Inc.

In the deserts of Nevada, there is a deceptively large building. Why 'deceptively' large? While it seems to sprawl out across the dunes, there is actually only one room. Indeed, it is a large room, but nothing spectacular.

Though it may seem weathered and abandoned from the outside, the interior of MoonSim Inc. is as full of hustle and business as any modern corporation, but with a subtle difference. In the middle of the room, only separated from black marble flooring and whirring machinery by a knee-height plexiglass barrier, there is a little bit of the moon. Or close enough, anyway.

Hitting the temptingly-red button causes a large Pokémon battling arena to erupt from the centre, immediately entrancing the multiple Elgyem acting as aides to the scientists. They were found here in the desert about twenty years ago, and MoonSim Inc. was subsequently founded on the site. The founders couldn't remember why they'd made it - it was just as if the idea had popped into their minds. Anyway, I digress...

Gravity is being tested today, so there will be two effects in progress:

1)
When the match Seeker's Pokémon is winning, strong Gravity comes into effect.
2)
When the match Seeker's Pokémon is losing, all Psychic-type Pokémon gain the Levitate trait.

Whether a Pokémon is winning or losing is decided by [(Damage taken + energy spent) / (HP at start of round + energy at start of round)]*100.

And you two should know how it goes, so I won't bother with the Order of Operations.

As per rules, the top Pokemon of each team is automatically sent out, so Alchemator sends out Jonathon the Abra, & iiMKUltra sends out Gabriel the Togetic.

That's it, looking forward to some clean fighting, starting with MK's actions!

Shadow Ball-Metronome (Night Daze, Bug Buzz, Hyper Beam, Blast Burn, Hydro Cannon, Frenzy Plant, Hurricane, Ice Burn, Roar Of Time, Thunder)-Shadow Ball

If Abra uses Light Screen, Encore it, but only once, and push actions down the queue if you do.

Ok Jonathon, luckily we have a huge movepool advantage!

...right

Start off with a Taunt, which will come in handy later. Take that Shadow Ball like a man! Then Light Screen, at which point he should try to Encore you (though it will fail). Finish with a Psyshock, while he should be using Metronome (which should also fail? I'm not sure).

ROUND ONE: Fight!

Well, here we are at MoonSim Inc., & we're here to witness a battle between Alchemator & iiMKUltra! Alch sends in his Abra, named Jonathon, & MK counters with his Togetic: Gabriel. What happens? Read on.

Well, to begin with, Jonathon opens with a Taunt, sending insults to Gabriel telepathically via brainwaves to enrage Gabriel into attacking, who responds with a Shadow Ball. Gabriel launches a dark ball of murky shadow at Gabriel & does quite a bit of damage to Jonathon.
Jonathon then continues to set up with a Light Screen, encasing himself in a Golden-Coloured box which seems to repel attacks of some sort. Gabriel tries to Encore it, but instead, she forgets about it in rage after those "telepathic insults".
Anyhow, Jonathon finally goes on the offensive, striking Gabriel with a Psyshock. It doesn't do much, but the brainwaves emitted from the attack shock Gabriel in a strange way that it hits her weaker Defence Stat instead! Gabriel caps off the round with a Metronome, but remembered the rage that she had after the Taunt, so the move fails.

After the round & both Pokemon are in the centre of the arena, fairly close to each other, as the Elgyem surrounding the arena start to use their Psychic powers & after they finish, Jonathon starts floating.

END ROUND ONE
Go Alchemator. I assume the winner is the one with a lower percentage, right? Or is it the other way around? Please clarify.

Taunt does block Metronome ingame yes, but think about it from a logical point of view. Ingame, it selects from every move, so it isn't 100% offensive. In this case, Togetic was selecting from ten attacking moves, so it was always going to end up as an attack, therefore the Taunt, if I were the ref, wouldn't have affected Metronome.

If Taunt blocks Metronome in-game, then it should block it here. Even if we're talking logically then Metronome is simply wagging a finger (that's its Japanese name). Wagging your finger is not an attack, so it should be blocked.

And yes, the Pokémon with the lowest percentage is winning.

Assuming that Taunt blocks Metronome, which it should, we can really disrupt Togetic this round.

Encore ~ Psyshock ~ Psyshock

E:
Fail.

Taunt blocks Metronome, period. What is the Pokemon doing to perform the Metronome? The Pokemon is waving its arms. That's not attacking, and as such, it is blocked by Taunt.

Sorry iiMKUltra. I don't see it working.

As an aside, this dispute revolves around Alchemator editing his post when confronted by a ruling by myself and Flora that his Encore will be ineffectual. Unless specifically directed by the referee, players do not get the benefit of hindsight in modifying their actions. If a player finds that his chosen move will not have the desired outcome, and his opponent has already submitted his actions, he or she may not edit their post to reflect the finding that his/her move is ineffectual and substitute in a functional move. On top of that, his opponent was the one that asked whether or not Alchemator's move would function as intended, and as such, allowing Alchemator to change his move would be rewarding him for his opponent's due diligence, which is hardly fair.

Finally fixed Metronome-Gate. Hopefully it's the last time I have to deal with this. Also, this will (probably) be a placeholder for the next round. Also, as with SDS, don't edit your actions after the opponent has issued actions. Encore will fail as a result.

ROUND TWO: Spam!

Well, with Metronome-Gate out of the way, we can move on into Round 2!

So Jonathon began...Well, his trainer orders a whole bunch of actions & he is confused by it & sits there idling for the round. In the meantime, Gabriel launches a Shadow Ball, striking Jonathon with a dark, murky blob of darkness which is significantly weakened by the Golden Box that surrounds Jonathon.
Next action & Jonathon comes to his senses & uses Psyshock, striking Gabriel with materialised brainwaves which strike her weaker Defence stat, as Gabriel blasts Jonathon with another Light Screen weakened Shadow Ball.
Final action & things don't get anything better as Jonathon continues to spam Psyshock & Gabriel continuing to spam Shadow Ball. Boring...Nevertheless, Gabriel gets over the Telepathic Insults after such an intense round.

The spamming has caused the two combatants to stay where they are as the Elgyem surrounding the perimeter test their Gravity Powers again. This time, both Jonathon & Gabriel come crashing to the ground as intense Gravity takes effect.

ROUND THREE: Strike!

Well, we have intense Gravity, & it's time for Round 3! Let's see what happens...

To begin with, Jonathon continues to spam, using Psyshock to send materialised brainwaves at Gabriel to do more damage, as Gabriel responds with a Flamethrower, scorching Jonathon with weakened damage as the Golden Box surrounding Jonathon dissipates.
Next action & Jonathon is rather impressed with the scorching flames & he decides that he wants an Encore, clapping his hands in glee. This increases Gabriel's confidence to a degree that she ignores her trainer & roasts Jonathon again with Flamethrower.
Final action, & Jonathon uses Light Screen again to envelop Alchemator's team in another Golden Box. iiMKUltra is not amused & as Gabriel uses Flamethrower again, & this time, out of all things, the Flamethrower pierces the Golden Box & strikes Jonathon with a powerful hit! A Critical Hit! Jonathon slumps back after taking a lot of damage as the round comes to a conclusion.

Gabriel's unchanged in position & Jonathon's further back towards his trainer. The Elgyem then practice their Gravity skills again, & this time, the intense Gravity stops & both Pokemon begin to float again.

To begin with, Jonathon uses Psyshock! Jonathon attacks Gabriel with more materialised brainwaves, which strike Gabriel for some damage. In the meantime, Gabriel resorts to using Metronome again, waggling her fingers around before launching a powerful Frenzy Plant! A mass of vegetation is launched at a massive power from Gabriel's fingers at Jonathon, only for it to veer off course & miss...Stupid Zero Gravity...
Continuing on & Jonathon continues to use materialised brainwaves on Gabriel through Psyshock. Gabriel then uses AncientPower, creating rocks to launch at Jonathon. The Golden Box, however, reduces the rocks to a crumble, barely scratching Jonathon.
Last action, & Jonathon continues to spam Psyshock at Gabriel, who resorts to Flamethrower, barely roasting Jonathon a bit more, as both Pokemon now look battered & bruised, as the round ends.

The Elgyem then do their Gravity Dance, & this time, both Pokemon come crashing down to the ground.
