[SET COMMENTS]
With a solid Speed and Special Attack stat, great coverage options, and incredible ability in Magic Bounce, Espeon is one of PU's strongest and most consistent wallbreakers. Psyshock is preferred over Psychic thanks to it allowing Espeon to hit special walls such as Florges and Goodra harder than Psychic. Shadow Ball allows Espeon to hit other Psychic-types such as Bruxish and Delphox while also targetting Hisuian Typhlosion. Alluring Voice is Espeon's most consistent option against Dark-type's such as Hisuian Qwilfish, Zoroark, and Bombirdier. Grass Knot OHKOs Rhydon and Mudsdale while also 2HKOing Milotic, however Trick is an option on Choice Specs sets to cripple incoming special walls like Dudunsparce, Alolan Sandslash, and Hisuian Qwilfish. With Tera Fairy, Espeon obtains a nifty resistance to Sucker Punch while also allowing it to boost Alluring Voice, OHKOing Skuntank on Choice Specs sets.
Espeon generally finds itself on balance teams who appreciate both its incredible wallbreaking potential as well as the utility it provides thanks to Magic Bounce. Espeon's fragility means it appreciates pivots such as Ambipom and Rotom-H to find positions for it to come in safely against slower threats like Tatsugiri. Even with Alluring Voice, Espeon can still struggle with Dark-type's, especially Skuntank and Hisuian Qwilfish due to their part Poison typing. As such, Pokemon like Hariyama and Rhydon who can naturally take these threats on are very useful to have, benefitting from Espeon breaking walls such as Mudsdale and Terastallized Hisuian Avalugg for them. Setup sweepers such as Salazzle and Alolan Ninetales enjoy Espeon's ability to wear down walls such as Milotic and Alolan Sandslash to allow them to sweep easier. In turn, these two can provide switchin opportunities thanks to Encore. Certain Pokemon that are particularly Stealth Rock weak such as Leftovers Arcanine and Choice Band Sneasel enjoy Espeon's ability to ward off entry hazards with Magic Bounce.
