I've had this team up for RMT before, that's how it became what I called the Purple Passers. It's not really a passing team, save for Gorebyss's Agilipassing, but the name sounds good! I haven't been playing on Shoddy for a while, but just recently I decided to come out of my slumber, break out the Purple Passers, and go rip up the new Smogon UU Ladder. Well, of course I didn't rip it up, since I'm not the greatest Shoddy player, or even close to that, but I think I did pretty good with this team. I had 6 Ladder battles, my first one I lost right up front, probably because I hadn't done any battling for a while, but then after that I just kept winning. I just stopped after that, because you know what they say. Well, anyway, the team has some flaws, and I would like to improve it, but I can't do that alone. So, how about it.

NOTES: I would like to keep this team all purple. So, if you are suggesting a pokemon change, try to find a purple pokemon! XD And yes, I am willing to change out a few pokemon.

Gorebyss @ Leftovers
Swift Swim
Modest
6 HP, 252 Speed, 252 SpA
Agility
Baton Pass
Ice Beam
Surf

It's fairly standard. Not quite as good as I'd like it to be, I suppose I could change around the EVs a bit more to make it more bulky... Mostly I just use it to pass speed to my slower purple pokes.

dpmfa326.png

Grumpig @ Leftovers
Thick Fat
Calm
252 HP, 156 Def, 96 SpD
Hidden Power (Fight)
Shadow Ball
Rest
Sleep Talk

This is a great sponge. It can take hits from both sides of the spectrum and completely stall out an opponent. Rest takes care of status as well as heals full up and Sleep Talk keeps it a threat. Ghost and Fighting attacks give it a good offense as well.

dpmfa091.png

Cloyster @ Leftovers
Shell Armor
Relaxed
252 HP, 6 Atk, 252 Def
Avalanche
Explosion
Rapid Spin
Spikes

This is your basic Spinner-Spiker-Defensive Wall with Explosion once it is no longer of use. If it has to attack another way, Avalanche is the way to give, since it is slow.

dpmfa210.png

Granbull @ Life Orb
Intimidate
Adamant
6 HP, 252 Atk, 252 Spe
Close Combat
Crunch
Fire Fang
Return

Like many say, nothing switches in on Granbull. It's a powerhouse. I can sweep a whole thing with this baby, especially if I can get an Agility passed to him. He's a beast.

457.png

Drapion @ Leftovers
Battle Armor
Impish
252 HP, 6 Atk, 252 Def
Whirlwind
Earthquake
Crunch
Knock Off

After a bit of testing, I think I should remove Arbok. Drapion seems like it might work. Due to the relative uselessness of Toxic Spike in the UU, I decided to exchange it out for Earthquake for a little extra coverage. I'll have to test to learn more.

Venomoth @ Wiseglasses
Tinted Lens
Timid
6 HP, 252 SpA, 252 Spe
Bug Buzz
Psychic
Sleep Powder
Sludge Bomb

Venomoth is my special sweeper. She can smack around just about anything and shut down what she can't kill with Sleep Powder. I've had a lot of fun with her... XD

Alright, there's my old team. ODDish might actually remember it. It could use some work, methinks, but for now it's good enough to get me a 5-1 record on the UU Ladder. Any help would be appreciated. I'ma countin' on ya Smogon!

Arbok is walled by a steel type... = /

But this looks really cool. Although, Gorebyss (and Venomoth to an extent) kinda takes away the purple theme. It's pretty pink. >_<

Drifblim can pass, and it's Purple, but I'm not sure if it can pass agilities.

Other then that, this team looks pretty fun.

It is a fun team, Arbok will be walled by a steel type, but I have other things to take care of them. There aren't that many offensive steel types in UU. Driftblim is not UU nor can it pass speed, since Unburden isn't passed. Gorebyss and Venomoth are both purple according to the pokedex color system.

If you are not familiar with the UU metagame, please do not post here, you may just do a little more harm than good. If you'd like to get into it... learn about it first.

n

Not sure what UU tierlist you're using, but Smogon classifies Drifblim as UU =/

Yer, I think Arbok needs Earthquake, as Earthquake hits all Steel Types in UU for SE damage, maybe over Rest, as Arbok isn't the best of defenders, and if someone gets a Crit hit (most likely seeing as Arbok could be in a lot stalling) then it'll be dead, especially SE, it'll be dead. Maybe go for a Choice Band, and Gunk Shot/EQ/Crunch/Pursuit. Or y could replace it altogether, maybe with a...

Drapion. He will be good in this spot, seeing as it's purple, and will help keep your physical walling if your Cloyster falls to a stray Vacuum Wave from a Toxicroak.

You are not familier with the UU metagame.
Arbok is screwed by anything carrying EQ or earth Power. Meaning Steelix, probapass and Nidoking/queen.
Drifblim is UU.
Unberdun doubles your Speed when you eat your berry, so give it a +Speed berry and Sub down until you activate the berry and Unberdun.
Unberdun is passed.

God, I have been out of it for far too long... But the Unburden boost still isn't passed... That's not how it works. Arbok IS screwed by said pokemon, but I still love him...

Since Driftblim is actually UU, contrary to what I said (As such, I apologize to Khyl) He would be a decent idea to replaced Gorebyss with. And I think I shall have to remove Arbok, after a little more testing. Goodbye my friend!

I used to use a Drapion that had max Defense, as high HP as you can get and still divisionable by 16, and then the rest in Attack with Impish nature. I had Night Slash (if I'd still used it, I'd replace this with Crunch), EQ, Agility and Swords Dance which hits just about everything for neutral/super-effective damage, ground and dark is really awesome for UU type covering. You can give it either Leftovers or Scope Lens, although I'd recommend Leftovers since it makes it very dangerous for physical opponents to stay in against you, seeing as after an Agility and 2 Swords Dances, you'll beat the crap out of the entire team, while you lack recovery with Scope Lens meaning they might KO you before you get the boosts off. Drapion is very resistant to physical attacks with my EV spread, and he can still shrug off several special attacks while he boosts; the clock will tick against your opponent. Switching into something that can KO or T-wave/WoW Drapion is another turn you've boosted it with.

Um, just in case any of you would actually look on Smogon, it says "However, note that the Unburden Speed boost can't be passed on." So, yeah. Otherwise, your team looks fine. Go purple. :P

I've been thinking about making a color coordinated team :).

I take it that baton passing agility isn't your main focus with Gorebyss.

I like grumpig a lot. The fact that he's so bulky usually means that he will win against fragile sweepers.
