[SET COMMENTS]
Alolan Dugtrio is one of the fastest Pokemon in ZU, which allows it to easily set up a Substitute versus frailer foes it outspeeds and forces out like Rotom-S and Clefairy without Seismic Toss. The combination of Substitute and Toxic allows Alolan Dugtrio to progressively weaken its checks like Poliwrath, Tangela, and Altaria, putting them in range of one of its STAB moves. Protect is an alternative over Iron Head; while this makes it more passive versus Ground-resistant and immune foes like Tangela and Articuno, it lets Alolan Dugtrio recover more HP from Leftovers and, in conjunction with its incredible defensive typing, set more Substitutes. Protect also lets it rack up more Toxic damage and scout for faster attackers like Choice Scarf Sawk and Basculin. Tangling Hair can reduce the Speed of a threat and potentially let a teammate outspeed and revenge kill it.

This set fits well on bulky teams looking for a reliable revenge killer, as Alolan Dugtrio can revenge kill fast threats like Silvally formes and Rapidash. In return, bulky partners like Miltank, Altaria, and Tangela can sponge hits for Alolan Dugtrio, helping it rack up Toxic damage. Defensive pivots such as Uxie, Rotom-S, and Clefairy make for particularly great partners since they can bring Alolan Dugtrio in safely, which it normally cannot do without a slow pivot due to its abysmal bulk. Physical sweepers such as Malamar, Silvally formes, and Swords Dance Qwilfish also appreciate Alolan Dugtrio weakening and crippling physical walls, opening the way for them to sweep.

[SET COMMENTS]
With its blazing Speed, Alolan Dugtrio outspeeds most Pokemon, which lets it act as a threatening fast glass cannon. Due to the number of switches it can force, Alolan Dugtrio can easily set up Stealth Rock versus threats like Klinklang, Alcremie, and Articuno. Sucker Punch lets Alolan Dugtrio revenge kill weakened foes like Thwackey and Choice Scarf Rotom. On the other hand, Stone Edge lets Alolan Dugtrio nail defensive Flying-types like Cramorant, Rotom-S, and Altaria that can handle its STAB moves. Life Orb significantly bolsters Alolan Dugtrio's power, allowing it to 2HKO Rhydon with Earthquake and OHKO Choice Scarf Rotom with Sucker Punch. Tangling Hair lets Alolan Dugtrio act as an emergency check to other fast sweepers, potentially offering a teammate a revenge kill opportunity.

Due to its average damage output and blistering Speed, Alolan Dugtrio functions as a mid- to late-game breaker, able to switch moves to remove threats. Therefore, wallbreakers that can weaken and cripple walls early-game like Black Belt Sawk, Thwackey, and Silvally formes work well. Pivots pair well with Alolan Dugtrio, providing it with much needed switch-in opportunities. Offensive pivots like Rotom and Silvally formes keep offensive momentum, whereas defensive ones such as Clefairy and Articuno are able to take hits for Alolan Dugtrio. Fighting checks like Rotom-S and Qwilfish are appreciated to switch into the likes of Sawk and Gurdurr; Qwilfish can also form a nice entry hazard core with its Spikes support, while Alolan Dugtrio provides an Electric immunity in return.

Other Options
=============
Life Orb Alolan Dugtrio can run all four attacking moves if its team already has a Stealth Rock user, or use Memento, giving a setup opportunity to a teammate. Hone Claws is another option; however, the boost is rarely enough to allow Alolan Dugtrio to break or clean. Beat Up is another option to deal better with non-Choice Scarf Rotom, but it is usually not worth using, as it doesn't target anything else.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Physically Bulky Foes**: Due to its average damage output, most walls including Poliwrath, Tangela, and Throh can take Alolan Dugtrio's Earthquake at full health and threaten it with huge damage.

**Faster Attackers**: Due to its abysmal bulk, faster threats like Choice Scarf Sawk and Alolan Persian don't have any problems OHKOing Alolan Dugtrio.

**Priority Moves**: Strong priorities like Thwackey's Grassy Glide, Gurdurr's Mach Punch, and Shiftry's Sucker Punch remove Alolan Dugtrio after minimal damage.

**Flying-types and Levitate**: Even if they have to watch out for Stone Edge and don't check it well if poisoned, most foes with a Ground immunity like Rotom and Cramorant can force Alolan Dugtrio out. Altaria is notable for being especially hard to deal with for Toxic sets due to Natural Cure.

**Bulky Attackers**: Alolan Dugtrio needs significant chip damage to knock out some attackers like Silvally-Dark and Rhydon, which can easily OHKO it with their STAB moves.

Alolan Dugtrio is one of the fastest Pokemon in ZU, only outsped by a couple unboosted threats, which allows it to easily setup a Substitute versus frailer foes it outspeeds and forces out (mention examples like Rotom-S and Clefairy without Seismic Toss or any better ones you have). The combination of Substitute and Toxic allows Alolan Dugtrio to progressively weaken its checks like Wishiwashi, Tangela, and Altaria, putting them in range of one of its STAB move. Protect is an alternative over Alolan Dugtrio's secondary STAB move, making it more passive versus Ground-resistant and immune foes like Eldegoss and Articuno, but letting Alolan Dugtrio recover more HP from Leftovers, allowing to make more use of its incredible defensive typing and setup more Substitute. It also lets it rack more Toxic damage and scout for faster attackers like Choice Scarf Sawk and Choice Band Cinccino. Tangling Hair can come in clutch, dropping the Speed of a threat and potentially letting a teammate outspeed and revenge kill it.

This set fits better on bulky teams looking for Speed control, as Alolan Dugtrio can revenge kill fast threats like Silvally formes and Rapidash. In return, bulky partners like Miltank, Altaria, and Tangela can sponge hits for Alolan Dugtrio, helping it rack Toxic damage. Defensive pivots such as Wishiwashi, Rotom-S, and Clefairy make for particularly great partners since they can bring safely Alolan Dugtrio which can't risk coming into anything due to its abysmal bulk. Physical sweepers such as Malamar, Silvally formes, and Swords Dance Qwilfish also appreciate Alolan Dugtrio weakening and crippling physical walls, opening them the way.

With its blazing Speed, Alolan Dugtrio outspeeds most Pokemon, being only slower than handful unboosted foes, which lets it act as a threatening fast glass cannon. Due to the number of switches it can force, Alolan Dugtrio can easily get an opportunity to setup Stealth Rock versus threats like Perrserker, Alcremie, and Articuno. Sucker Punch lets Alolan Dugtrio revenge kill weakened foes like Thwackey and Cinccino. On the other hand, Stone Edge lets Alolan Dugtrio nail defensive Flying-types like Cramorant, Rotom-S, and Altaria that can handle its STAB moves. Life Orb bolsters significantly Alolan Dugtrio's move, giving much needed power to 2HKO Rhydon with Earthquake and OHKO Choice Scarf Rotom with Sucker Punch. Tangling Hair lets act Alolan Dugtrio as an emergency sack, potentially offering a teammate a revenge kill opportunity.

Due to its average damage output and blistering Speed, Alolan Dugtrio better functions as a mid- to late-game breaker, able to switch moves to remove threats. Therefore wallbreakers that would weaken and cripple walls early game like Black Belt Sawk, Thwackey, and Silvally formes work well. Pivots pair well with Alolan Dugtrio, providing it much needed switch-in opportunities. Offensive ones like Rotom, Silvally formes, and Cinccino keep offensive momentum, whereas defensive ones such as Wishiwashi and Articuno are able to take hits for Alolan Dugtrio. (I'd probably add some defensive synergies that would help this Duggy set given it's a lot more focussed on offense, e.g. Qwilfish covers Fighting- and Fire-type, Duggy covers elec for it and qwil can form a hazard core with it)

Life Orb Alolan Dugtrio is able to successfully perform in teams that already have a Stealth Rock user, either running all four attacking moves or replacing Stealth Rock with Memento, giving a setup opportunity to a teammate. Hone Claws could also be run instead, however the boost rarelly is enough to allow Alolan Dugtrio to break or clean. Night Slash is another option to deal better with non Choice Scarf Rotom but it is usually not worth using as it doesn't target anything else. (I've not seen Night Slash before but I've seen Beat Up, not sure which is better really but ig Beat Up also deals with Sub Rotom and you'd only really run Dark-type coverage specifically for Rotom)

**Ground-immune foes**: Even if they have to watch out for Stone Edge and don't check it so well once Toxic poisoned, most Ground-immune foes like Rotom formes (I really don't think Rotom-S is that good at dealing with Alolan Duggy especially the Sub set punishes it super harder since it cant wisp, would change this to just Rotom) and Cramorant can force Alolan Dugtrio out. Altaria is notable for being especially hard to deal with for Toxic sets due to Natural Cure.

**Bulky attackers**: Alolan Dugtrio need signficant chip damage to knock out some attackers like Silvally-Dark and Rhydon, which can easily OHKO it with their STAB moves.
