[OVERVIEW]
* Alolan Muk is a specially defensive tank that can put a dent in Ghost-, and Psychic-types, while taking special hits with its natural bulk.
* Has an excellent typing of Poison/Dark, making it immune to the ever common Psychic type, and only having 1 weakness to Ground while having 4 useful resistances.
* With Pursuit and Knock Off, Alolan Muk can take on Ghost-, and Psychic-types like Mega Gengar, Lunala, and Deoxys-A easily, while removing items from other Pokemon.
* Excellent Poison/Dark typing allows it to check and trapsome of the majors threats in the tier, such as Deoxys-Attack, Mega Gengar, Lunala, and Arceus-Ghost.
* Respectable special bulk allows Alolan Muk to tank special attacks from special attackers.
* Low base attack by Uber standards, has trouble harming the opponent without super effective moves.
* Alolan Muk's only weakness, Ground, is commonly seen due to Primal Groudon, Arceus-Ground and Zygarde-C.
* Horrible physical defense along with low speed makes Alolan Muk weak against physical attackers.

* Pursuit can trap the opposing Pokemon, making it effective against Psychic-types like Lunala and Deoxys-A. It can also beat Perish Trapper Mega Gengar, at the cost of sacrificing Alolan Muk.
* Taunt is used to block status moves from Mega Gengar, Lunala, and Arceus-Dark.
* Toxic allows Alolan Muk to cripple commonly seen threats like Primal Groudon, Xerneas, Primal Kyogre and Ho-Oh on switch in.
* Alternatively, Rest can be used to restore its health to full if it's low on health.
* Knock Off is an alternative, allowing Alolan Muk to remove the opponent's item, which is useful against Lunala, Celesteela, Deoxys-A, Lugia, and Zygarde-C.

Set Details
========

* 252 HP and 252 Spd is used to maximize its special defense to wall special attackers like Lunala, Xerneas and Mega Gengar.
* Careful is used to boost its Special Defense even further while sacrificing its non-used Special Attack.
* Black Sludge is used to give Alolan Muk a passive recovery outside of Rest.

Usage Tips
========

* The main purpose of this set is to trap and cripple many Pokemon with Toxic along with Pursuit.
* Alolan Muk can go up against Ghost-, and Psychic-types with Toxic and Pursuit.
* Predict a Primal Groudon or Xerneas switch in to poison them with Toxic.
* Walls like Lugia can be dealt with Poison Jab or Toxic.
* Use Rest when Alolan Muk is low on health to heal it up and keep up the assault.
* Alolan Muk can check Mega Gengars who run Perish Song with Taunt and Pursuit.
* Physical attackers like Mega Salamence, Arceus-Normal and Ho-Oh can easily take care of Alolan Muk.
* Avoid sending it out against Ground-Types, such as Primal Groudon, Excadrill, Zygarde-C, Arceus-Ground and Landorus-T.

Team Options
========

* Primal Kyogre is a good teammate, as it take care of Ground-Types such as Primal Groudon, Zygarde-C, Excadrill, Arceus-Ground and Landorus-T. Primal Kyogre can also deal with Mega Salamence and Ho-Oh with its coverage moves.
* Primal Groudon with a Fire-Type move can take care of Steel-Types like Celesteela, Skarmory, Solgaleo, Magearna and Dialga, while checking physical threats such as Mega Salamence and Ho-oh with its sky-high physical defense.
* A physical wall in the likes of Lugia and Bronzorg can allow the team to switch out between walls and force switch outs.
* Alolan Muk can assist Hex users like Mega Gengar and Giratina-O with Toxic and Poison Jab.

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========

* Knock Off is used to remove the opponent's item and deal massive damage, which is useful against Lunala, Celesteela, Deoxys-A, Lugia, and Tapu Lele.
* Shadow Sneak allows Alolan Muk to pick off opponents who are low on health.
* Gunk Shot can deal massive damage against Fairy-types like Xerneas, Arceus-Fairy and Tapu Lele. However, it can miss and doesn't work with Poison Touch. Poison Jab can also be used to have a safer, more crippling but less damaging alternative.
* Pursuit can trap the opposing Pokemon, making it effective against Psychic-types like Lunala and Deoxys-A. It can also beat Perish Trapper Mega Gengar, at the cost of sacrificing Alolan Muk.

Set Details
========

* 252 HP is used to maximize its defenses without sacrificing any attack boosts. 252 Atk allows Muk to hit as hard as possible and to OHKO certain threats, such as Mega Gengar and Xerneas, which would otherwise be 2HKO's.
* Adamant is used to boost its Attack even further while sacrificing its non-used Special Attack.
* Assault Vest allows Alolan Muk to survive special attacks it couldn't normally, such as a +2 Moonblast from Xerneas or a +2 Spacial Rend from Palkia.

Usage Tips
========

* This set is used to remove items while tanking special hits
* Bring in Alolan Muk against Ghost and Psychic types to pressure them with Knock Off, and trap them with Pursuit.
* Can also keep Yveltal in check if it doesn't run Knock Off.
* Alolan Muk can also deal with walls like Lugia by poisoning them with Poison Jab and removing their items with Knock Off.
* Use Shadow Sneak to finish off weakened opponents.
* Send it out against a Perish Trapper Mega Gengar to remove it from play, at the cost of sacrificing Alolan Muk.
* Avoid sending it out against Physical Attackers such as Mega Salamence, Arceus-Normal and Ho-Oh, because Alolan Muk can't tank against any physical hits.
* Also avoid sending it out against Ground-Types, such as Primal Groudon, Excadrill, Zygarde-C, Arceus-Ground and Landorus-T.

Team Options
========

* Primal Kyogre is a preffered teammate, because it can take care of very threatening Ground-Types such as Primal Groudon, Zygarde-C, Excadrill, Arceus-Ground and Landorus-T. Primal Kyogre can also take care of physical threats like Mega Salamence and Ho-Oh with its coverage moves.
* Similarly, Primal Groudon with a Fire-Type move can take care of pesky Steel-Types like Celesteela, Skarmory, Solgaleo, Magearna and Dialga, who would otherwise wall out Alolan Muk. Primal Groudon can also check physical threats such as Mega Salamence and Ho-oh with its sky-high physical defense and OHKO them with Stone Edge/Rock Tomb.
* A physical wall in the likes of Lugia and Bronzorg can allow the team to switch out between walls and force switch outs.
* Hex users like Mega Gengar and Giratina-O appreciates the fact Alolan Muk can easily spread Poison to power up Hex.
* Alolan Muk also appreciates any Wish or Heal Bell users like Chansey or Blissey to keep its health full and restoring any status conditions like Burn or Sleep.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

* Sleep Talk combined with Rest can allow Alolan Muk keep up the assault even when its sleeping.
* Clear Smog can be used to remove stat boosts from the opponent, which is useful against Xerneas, Arceus-Dark and Lunala.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Primal Groudon**: One of the biggest threats to Alolan Muk, simply because Alolan Muk can't do anything except try to poison it on a switch in. Primal Groudon can set up Stealth Rock and OHKO it with Precipice Blades easily.

**Steel-types**: Because Alolan Muk can't poison them, it can't deal much damage against them and generally Steel Types like Mega Lucario, Celesteela, Skarmory, Solgaleo, Magearna and Dialga won't care what Alolan Muk hit them with.

**Ground-types**: Ground Types like Primal Groudon, Excadrill, Zygarde-C, Arceus-Ground and Landorus-T are a major pain to Alolan Muk. Alolan Muk can only poison them, while all of them can OHKO them with a Ground-type move.

**Arceus-Normal**: Arceus-Normal can 2HKO Alolan Muk with Earthquake, while Alolan Muk can only hope to poison it.

**Mega Salamence**: Alolan Muk can't really hurt Mega Salamence thanks to its amazing physical bulk. Mega Salamence can OHKO Alolan Muk with Double-Edge or +1 Return/Earthquake. Even if Alolan Muk manages to Poison Mega Salamence, sets that carry Refresh can easily remedy that problem.

Is Assault Vest necessary on this Muk-A? I'd rather run Leftovers and Toxic to catch P Don switch-ins and passive healing.

I'm not sure yet if it is strictly necessary per se, but it does allow Alolan Muk to survive +2 Geomancy Xerneas Moonblast after SR:

+2 252+ SpA Fairy Aura Xerneas Moonblast vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Assault Vest Muk: 303-357 (73.1 - 86.2%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock

Poison Touch PJab also has something like a 60% chance to Poison stuff so I'm not sure if Toxic is mandatory here. I'm still not sure if this will be The Set (tm), but being able to do this is hilarious lol.

I was debating on whether to add this or not, but IMO Assault Vest can work on Muk-A because with it, it can switch in to alot of special attacks, survive the hit and have alot of chances to either poison the opponent, knock off an opposing item, trap them with Pursuit and get some extra damage with Shadow Sneak. Without it, Muk-A dies faster and the only thing it gains is a bit of recovery and Toxic/Clear Smog, which can badly poison the opponent and remove stat buffs, but it's very situational and chances are, you won't survive the inital hit or survive the next one. All Muk-A has to do is avoid getting burned and avoid getting Knocked Off.

I'll keep it on for now but if the major opinion leans on removing it, I'll do it.

Djqubi have you tried Curse on Alolan Muk? I've just noticed that it has it, so I haven't actually tried it yet, but something to think about.

I have tried it before. Sadly, Alolan Muk doesn't really get a single opportunity to use it, as anything in the tier except Psychic types threaten it alot, and even when it does set up, the advantages are very little compared to the disadvantages it brings. So I can't recommend using it.

Overview is way too long. It is enough to specify what is it good at (good defensive typing and special bulk, checks Psychic and Ghosts well, can help vs Fairies, Pursuit, Poison Touch annoys counters) and what are the flaws (slow, Ground weakness, low power without SE hits).

Slashing on first set should be this:

[SET]
name: Specially Defensive
move 1: Poison Jab
move 2: Pursuit
move 3: Taunt
move 4: Toxic / Rest
item: Black Sludge
ability: Poison Touch
nature: Careful
evs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Spd

Clear Smog isn't necessary since Taunt + Toxic will beat Arceus-Dark and Gunk Shot isn't needed either - this set prefers making use of the 60% poison chance from Poison Touch. Knock Off can go in moves. You can still beat CM Lunala with just Taunt and Pursuit since it needs to hit 3 +1 Focus Blasts to KO Muk which is...not likely.

SDef set has no team options, please fix.

AV Muk can't really beat Darkceus or handle Tyranitar well so remove those mentions.

You end a lot of sentences with just "and." and other transitions. Please double-check your prose to make GP's job easier.

I just want to point out that Poison Touch Poison Jab's overall chance to poison is not actually 60% (0.3 + 0.3), but 51% (0.3 + [0.7 * 0.3]), as their chances are calculated separately as opposed to directly stacking onto each other. This way of calculation is relevant since Poison Touch's poison chance and Poison Fang's badly poison chance follow this 'independent from each other' method (overall chance for Poison Touch Poison Fang to inflict any status in general is 65%).

In the overview:

Alolan Muk is a specially defensive tank that can put a dent in Fairy and Psychic types, while tanking special hits with its natural bulk combined with Assault Vest.
The first set doesn't even use AV, so this shouldn't be in the intro. Strength against Psychics and Ghosts is more accurate to say than Fairies: it doesn't even have a Fairy resist.

It has access to a priority move in the form of Shadow Sneak, which allows Alolan Muk to finish off weakened opponents.
Again, the first set doesn't even opt for this move, so it's not worth a mention in the intro. Condense all bullets about movepool into a single bullet that discusses the importance of access to Pursuit and Knock Off.

With it's Poison and Dark typing, it can check some of the majors threats in the tier, such as Xerneas, Mega Gengar, Deoxys-Attack, Lunala, and Arceus-Ghost.
Pedantic, but these should probably be listed in the order of how effectively Alolan Muk checks them. Biggest things about Alolan Muk is performance against Deoxys-A and ability to Pursuit trap Mega Gengar. Providing a Lunala check is also noteworthy.

Respectable 105/100 special bulk combined with Assault Vest allows Alolan Muk to tank many special attacks from major special attackers.
Again, remove mention of AV from intro.

Its ability Poison Touch allows Muk to poison the opponent easy combined with Poison Jab to break stall.
This bullet isn't even true. You can poison some defensive staples, but in no way does this single mon break down stall or balance teams.

In moves:

Apply Fireburn's changes to the first set.

...which can poison the opponent almost 60% of the time
Use Punchshroom's figure here as the poison chance.

Make sure each move is given its own bullet. In general, some things here need to have fluff cut and need to have descriptions that are more to the point. This applies to both sets.

Team options for the first set needs to be added.

Make these changes correctly and I will stamp later. If changes are not implemented properly I will be temped to reject this analysis, especially since it's been over a week and Fireburn's changes were never implemented.

Trimmed down alot of sentences and added the changes you have mentioned. Sorry that it took so long, I never got around doing any edits until today.

Horrible physical defense along with low speed makes Alolan Muk against physical attackers.
This is an incomplete sentence, so fix.

On the first set make sure Rest has its own bullet point.

252 HP and 252 Spd is used to maximize its special defense to wall special attackers like Lunala, Xerneas and Mega Gengar.
Geo Xern OHKOs the first Muk set about half the time with SR up and Choice Specs easily 2HKOs. This set doesn't wall Xerneas by any means. It's also incorrect to say that it walls Mega Gengar, it Pursuits that (the special bulk is still for it though). Mention more special attackers that the spread has been intended for.

Physical attackers like Mega Salamence, Arceus-Normal and Ho-Oh can easily take care of Alolan Muk.
How is this a usage tip, this is something for C&C.

Avoid sending it out against Ground-Types, such as Primal Groudon, Excadrill, Zygarde-C, Arceus-Ground and Landorus-T.
This goes without saying and thus doesn't need to be here.

Both team options and usage tips for the first set are lacking. Most of the partners that people regularly use with this Pokemon are missing.

For the second set Poison Jab needs to be given its own bullet point.

Same problems with the usage tips and team options apply to the second set since they were copy pasted.

Strong physical attackers such as Rayquaza, Ho-Oh, and Pheromosa should be in C&C as they outspeed and OHKO Alola Muk.

Please update so that these concerns are addressed.

Djqubi Due to the time taken to implement QC concerns I'm giving this 24 hours to have it fully fixed with all the previous feedback before reassignment.

edit: OP wants to drop this so ima move
